happy pride month once again, here’s a redraw of this iconic medieval art
Basic rules for analysing fiction, an incomprehensive list jotted down in a hurry:
The protagonist isn’t always right
The protagonist isn’t always good
The protagonist isn’t always written to be relatable or likeable
The narrator isn’t always right
The narrator isn’t always good
The narrator isn’t always telling the truth
The narrator isn’t always the author
The protagonist’s moral compass, the narrator’s moral compass and the author’s moral compass are three entirely different things that only occasionally overlap
Pay attention to what characters do and not just what they say
Pay special attention when what the characters do is at odds with what they say
A lot of the time the curtains are blue for a reason. If they aren’t, you should read better books
One more:
12. The antagonist isn’t always telling the truth
So many times I have seen people apparently just … forget that it’s possible for fictional characters to be (a) mistaken or (b) lying, and say things like “we know this to be true because [character] said so here” (or, worse, “this fact is canon because [character] said it”).
The antagonist isn’t always telling the truth, the protagonist isn’t always telling the truth, the secondary and minor characters aren’t always telling the truth, the narrator may be telling the truth but if the narrator is also a character in the story then don’t count on it.
Re 11 where does anyone have the right to call books that people read for fun and don’t want to pay attention to and analyze every little detail, “worse”? Get over yourself. If that’s your cup of tea, enjoy. It isn’t mine.
I have the right because I enjoy being a hater in my own blogging space :)

hey guys fun fact in the youtube video she says that they’re fake and cost her $2 a set so dont panic
idk y’all should treat fat men better. and i don’t mean mildly chubby guys i mean honest-to-god love-handles-and-double-chins fat guys. stop calling them shit like discord mods or gross weebs or nasty creeps or neckbeards or that they’re stinky or sweaty or beer bellied or whatever else. fatphobia isn’t cute, even repackaged in a neat little box of “ew men”
"ohh chell never responded to anything glados said" YES SHE DID. she murdered her. and thats yuri
why do people treat bi lesbians like they're a recent sjw mogai invention of people trying to fuck around too much with "strict unchanging labels", and not literally something people have been calling themselves since the 70s

I won't blame goyim for calling them "biblically accurate angels" because that's the term that most of the internet uses. but it's really incorrect and you probably shouldn't use it.
the most outlandish and crazy depictions of angels that you probably see the most as "biblically accurate angels" are the depictions from the book of Ezekiel. the ones with flames and eyes and animal heads and basically not resembling a human form at all.
but these angels are not from the bible. they're from the Tanakh. the Tanakh came first, and the bible followed. Judaism came first and christianity followed.
I really hate how people have turned the angels that appear in a book that's part of the Tanakh into "christian cryptids". they aren't a xian creation. they're a part of Jewish lore and angelology. so maybe don't call them something that implies they're from a xian text. because they aren't. those types of angels don't appear in the xian bible, and even if they did, they were a part of Judaism long before xianity was invented.
again, I'm not blaming you if you didn't know. if this is your first time hearing about this, I'm glad I taught you something new. I would suggest simply calling those angels by their names, seraphim and cherubim and ophanim. and if you want to learn more, try looking into Jewish angelology.
cant overstate how much i laughed at this
“it’s weird for queer minors to be friends with queer adults” oh my god. ohhh my god.
intergenerational community support, especially in a community that is split so much age wise as the queer community, is immensely fucking important. get to know older queers and younger queers. this is how communities frazzle out and die to infighting.
the hypothetical queer adult that people are mad over in the post this is refrencing is 35 years old. only 35.
its weird for any minors to be friends with any adults, queer or not. There should be no reason why unrelated adults or minors should be making close relationships in any sense outside of professional ones. I understand wanting education, but they can be taught when they are adults as well.
is this a joke.
If you believe there is something inherently wrong with adults being friends with teens, you've been brainwashed into believing that every adult sees youth as a form solicitation.
This makes you part of the problem.
[Image ID: Tumblr reply from stabbySheep reading: Children should have adult friends for reasons like "other perspectives than the one you're growing up in" and "place to crash when things go bad" and "learning skills your parents can't teach you." Adults should have younger friends because that's how you stay connected with where the world is going, how the language is changing, how the tech is changing, so that when its your turn to be the 65+ option in surveys you still have some idea of how to interact w/ society. /End ID]
