Executive dysfunction is when thereās gas in the tank but no fuse. Either that or the engine is fine but the breaks donāt work. Or somehow both.
Katara has many regrets in life but giving her boy the Jinshi Haircut is not one of them.
Who's gonna tell him they're married in Luffy's head already?
If they ever make the live action version the Guru episode itāll go like this.
The guru: so, Aang, letās start opening up your chakras. What are you ashamed of?
Aang (who never hurt Katara): ummmā¦
The guru: What do you blame yourself for?
Aang (who never ran away): uuuummmā¦
The guru: What are the lies you tell yourself?
Aang (who never denied heās the avatar): ummmmā¦
The guru: What attaches you to this world?
Aang (who isnāt in love with Katara): ummmmmā¦
The guru: WHY ARE YOU EVEN HERE?
zoro loves his personal space. luffy also loves zoro's personal space.
ā Zoro, please, can we keep him?
opla zolu have been married in Zoroās head since Luffy said he needed him and Zoro said āyouāre my captain, Luffy, and Iām your first mate.ā Which explains why zoro is the way he is from s1e6 and beyond
I love how the live action makes it clear that deep down all the Straw Hats are in love with each other on some kind of metaphysical plane of multiversal platonicism and that it doesnāt matter which ship you like youāre going to get a little bit of all of them because they wouldnāt choose anyone over the others. Theyāre one big whole.

Guys I'm WHEEZINGā
so i recently learned that, in the source material, kureha calls chopper "my foolish son" instead of "you foolish boy" like in the live action. and while i definitely do feel like that could've been a nice addition/a frustrating revision, i'm actually glad that changed it for two specific reasons
1. both the anime and the live action have a lot of consumers of a certain demographic that would definitely take that line as some sort of confirmation that kureha and hiriluk were together before his death. because if they both saw chopper as a son then that means that they were both his parental figures which means that they had to have been together before hiriluk's death/had to have romantically loved each other
the demographic in question? people who either take most visual media at face value and don't believe in subtext or people who read subtext absolutely wrong and treat their interpretation as fact. i just see way too many bad takes when it comes to this show that stem from a lack of media literacy and just all-around disrespectful stances so i just know that some viewers would've blown that line way out of proportion
and 2. we did not see enough of kureha being nice to chopper for that line to have hit (at least for me, miss 'holds a grudge like it's nobody's business'). now, just want to stress, i'm specifically talking about the live action here so i don't know how similar their interactions were to the animanga. from the beginning of the kureha's screentime to the end, most of her interactions with chopper are treating him like the med student he was (which is great, yay) and yelling at him/berating him. not enough of her interactions with chopper are mother-like, or even just loving guardian-like, for "my foolish son" to fit. maybe that's just because i have a weird perception of guardians and what makes a good or bad one, i don't know. and i, personally, would consider hiriluk to be chopper's dad and kureha to be more of an aunt-figure or godmother
so to sum it up, the change from "my foolish son" to "you foolish boy" was just fine and shouldn't be seen as something that totally takes away from the episode, in my opinion ofc
it's interesting how average atla viewers analyzing the story always bring reasonable arguments backed by actual sources (don't even have to ship kataang) meanwhile zutaras arguments are almost always just their own misreading of the story and ones that can be easily debunked
