((Is anyone reading this?? I’m curious if anyone really is. Anyways here is the next chapter :33))
A few days has passed since Izaya agreed to help you. During that time you managed to collect things and along with your Grimoires. It was hard since you had to teleport them. You had to use Izaya for it and he ended up sleeping for 2 whole days afterwards since it drained him.
You have also gotten to know Izaya a bit more during your time of staying with him. Namie also but she seemed to keep to herself. Currently you are going through your list of herbs.
"(l/n)-chan, Does every Mage have a destructive element?" Izaya asked, you had gotten used to him adding chan to your last name. Though when he started to use it at first you always blushed since back in your time not many men gave you attention.
"Hmm, element yes. Destructive depends on what you do with your element. I'm guessing your are going through my Dark Grimoire." Your eyes didn't leave the list.
"Yes, it's more interesting than your family Grimoire."
"My family Grimoire has simple things that can help with everyday things. I mostly use it for charms and defensive spells."
You finally look up to see Izaya flipping through the Dark Grimoire.
The Dark Grimoire is black and the pages are dark. The ink used is red, not blood though. While the (l/n) Grimoire is a light brown with the 4 main elements on the cover. The pages are light with ordinary black ink.
"We should find your element today, what do you say Orihara-kun?" You ask the ebony haired man.
"I would like that (l/n)-chan." Izaya smiled and closed the Dark Grimoire.
You then found a clear space and with Izaya's permission you drew a circle and used Latin letters. Four little circles connected to the main one. Inside each little circle were 4 cups, each one with an element.
"Alright, I need you to step inside the circle. Once inside you will feel the elements. Find one that feel comfortable, the one that speaks to you more than the others." You explained and stood back.
Izaya entered the circle and he felt the surge of the elements dancing around him. The elements felt like ancient magic, for they came before humans. Then the cup with the flame in it went out. Next was the cup with the water, it tipped over. Last was earth, the rock exploded. The only cup that remained standing with it's element as air.
"Looks like air is your element."
"Air... interesting," Izaya stepped out of the circle.
"I'm glad it was not water since mine is fire," You laugh and start picking up the cups.
"How do you use lightning then?" Izaya questioned.
"I few tricks I picked up, think of lightning as a brother or cousin of fire." You replied and put the cups away.
"Can you teach me how to use my element?" Izaya asked.
"Yes, let's do something simple. How about a gust of air?"
"Why not something stronger, like from the Dark Grimoire."
"No, you are still not strong enough for that. You could end up killing yourself. You have to practice to build up how much magic you can use. I've been using magic since I was 9 so I can handle much more than you." You took the Dark Grimoire and put it a messenger bag that you received from Izaya.
"Element magic or destructive magic are quick spells with no words. But using it constantly can be draining. Concentrate and feel your element and the let the magic surge through you. Like so," as you helped Izaya understand the using of element magic you felt the magic build. You felt your hand becoming warm and then your hand was on fire.
You let the fire die down to nothing and smiled to Izaya. Izaya put his hand out and concentrate, then some papers on his desk flew, it looked more like a breeze knocked them over.
"Practice more and you can do amazing things. I will leave my Grimoire with you so you can look into Air." You held out the (l/n) Grimoire.
Izaya took it with a sigh, "(l/n)-chan is just too amazing." You felt a blush creep up, Izaya noticed and smirked to himself.
"W-well many years of practice, I will be going now." You slip the strap of your bag onto your shoulder.
"Where are you going?" Izaya asked as he sets your Grimoire down.
"To explore, I want to see all the new things this era has." You turn to leave.
"Don't go to far, I don't want you getting lost (l/n)-chan~" Izaya teased you.
"If I do I can just do a home spell." You walked out and headed to the elevator.
Izaya had taught you some of the new modern things and occasionally teased you about them. You would question his teaching methods constantly. As you exited the building you walked in a random direction. There were many people talking on what you found out are cell phones. As you continued on you passed a movie poster. You stopped since something seemed familiar about the person on the poster.
Walking back to it, you saw a man with dull eyes and dark brown hair. It wasn't because he looked dreamy, as some people would say, it was because he reminded you of someone. Looking at the name it read Hanejima Yuhei. With a quick turn you were running back to Izaya's place.
It didn't take you very long to get back since you didn't venture out too far. Throwing the door open you ran over to Izaya who is at his desk going through his emails.
"That didn't take long, did you get scared (l/n)-chan?" Izaya teased you.
"No, I need you to look up someone on that thing you call a computer. His name is Hanejima Yuhei."
Izaya clicked his tongue, "Tch, what for?" He hoped you didn't fall for Heiwajima Kasuka like his sisters did.
"Because I must look at his family tree, so just hurry up." Getting annoyed by Izaya.
"Alright, his real name is Heiwajima Kasuka. Hanejima Yuhei is just his stage name." Izaya then started to type on the keyboard.
"There," Izaya moved away from the screen so you could look. You followed the names until you saw it.
"So it really is your decedent Nanako-chan," You started to laugh like an insane person.
-Flash Back-
You opened your door to see your best friend Nanako. She had light brown hair and amber like eyes. Smiling wide you let her in and brought her to the back of your little home. In the back was your work station, there was papers and herbs and the (l/n) Grimoire opened.
"(f/n)-chan, are you almost done?" Nanako asked.
"I'm almost done, Nana-chan." You laughed.
Nanako waited and after you were done with a spell you both were off to meet with another friend.
You and Nanako were more like family than friends. You would never betray each other...
((I hoped everyone enjoyed this chapter!! I’m running out of pre-written chapter oh no >.>))
The year is 2042. Your daughter is awkwardly silent as she eats her dinner. “Something wrong sweetie?” She sighs and puts down her fork. “I was digging really deep in AO3 last night…Why didn’t you finish that coffee shop au?” It happened. Your past has come back to haunt you. Nay, it never truly left.
((Hey everyone I was going to update this on Saturday but I ended up going out for most of the day O.O I hope everyone liked the first chapter :33 Anyways enjoy!!))
I do not own Durarara in any shape or forum just the plot and any OCs
Dark images flashed and there was a girl screaming at you. Gasping your eyes snap open and you realized where you were. Calming down you lay back down and look around. Finally you sit up and scan the room and sitting across from you was Orihara Izaya.
"You're finally awake," Izaya perked up.
"How long have I been asleep?" You question.
"For about 2 hours."
"I see, I apologize for passing out it has been a long day. Back to what I said before, you will help me." You sat properly and stared into his eyes.
You closed your eyes for a brief moment and opened them slowly as you felt the magic surge through you, but this time it wasn't dark magic. As you opened your eyes fully you could see Izaya's aura. His aura had the standard colors but there was a color that you were specifically looking for. And there it was, the gold shimmery kind that meant he had magic in his blood. It was a small amount because he probably has never practiced magic. If one was to look at your aura it would be shining bright gold with black infused with it, because you also practiced Black Magic
"And why should I help you, I don't even know your name," Izaya asked.
Izaya's speaking broke your concentration and you let the magic go.
"I am (l/n) (f/n), and you will help be because I said so. I have no one to turn to. Everyone that I know is dead." You glared at him.
"Dead?"
"Yes, after a hundred years they are dead."
"...Namie-chan can you show (l/n)-san out," Izaya started to get up.
"You think I'm crazy: I'm not." You were getting annoyed.
Izaya stopped Namie for a moment, "Okay say you aren't crazy, where have you been for a hundred years then?" He asked.
"I have been in Hell, I was banished there by another Arch Mage. Was it not weird of how I talked that might have given it away?" You questioned.
Izaya stared at you and then started to laugh. "Thank you for the laugh but I must ask you to leave." Izaya got up and turned from you.
Namie stared at you with a blank tired face. You got up but didn't move. You pushed Namie lightly away and felt a crackle of lightning around your fingers. Namie stepped back. Smirking to Namie, you moved your hand and the lightning shot out from your fingers. It flew pass Izaya and hit the glass window, leaving a black burn mark on it. Izaya froze and then turned to you.
"Do you believe me now?" You smiled, the lightning sparks died and slowly morphed into flames.
"How can I not?" Izaya shared a smile with you.
You let the flame die down and then it was completely gone. You sat back down and so did Izaya.
"Now then, will you help me?" You asked again.
"If I do what do I get out of this?" Izaya questioned.
"I can help you with magic: you have the ability to use it. You just need to learn how." You stated.
Izaya looked like he was considering your offer. But how could he not? Learning to use magic is a once in a life time chance.
"I will help you. Namie-chan can you buy new clothes for (l/n)-san?" Izaya looked to her.
"Fine," Namie left without a second glance.
"So what is it that you need (l/n)-san?"
"Well, we have clothes checked off. I also need herbs, crystals, my grimories and shelter. Ah one more thing, I want to know more about this century." You concluded your list.
"I will take care of everything," Izaya said.
Izaya maybe be helping you, but he had his own motives. And he wasn't going to be sharing them with you. This is a big opportunity for him anyways: he had his own Mage. Things were getting more and more interesting lately in Ikebukuro.
"Why did you escape Hell and how?" Izaya asked.
"How...well, it took a lot of magic that - even for an Arch Mage - was a lot. Making a portal is no easy task especially since I never took the time to actually learn how to do one."
"And the why?" Izaya pressed.
"Hmm, well I want revenge on the person who banished me to Hell. Because of her she ruined everything!" You glared at nothing in particular.
"But she is dead," Izaya noted.
"Yes, but her family line isn't. I just need to find her decedent." You smiled and you left it at that.
You weren't going to share your whole plan with Izaya just yet. You two then waited for Namie to return from shopping. During that time Izaya helped you learn about the present time as you sipped on some orange juice and ate snacks. In return you also answered questions about magic and even Black Magic.
"Why orange juice?" Izaya asked.
"When we use magic we can burn a lot of energy and so our sugar levels drop. But it does depend on how much magic you are using. It can be anything really that can raise your sugar level back up so you don't feel like passing out. I just like the taste of orange juice." You take another sip of the juice.
Izaya then noticed your hands and fingers, they were covered in black markings that look like they go up your arms. But he couldn't really tell because of your kimono's sleeve.
"Your markings..." Izaya pointed to them.
"Oh, yes these." You pulled your sleeve up and the black markings were like tendrils snaking up to your forearm. "I'm still bound to Hell. They won't go away until I'm properly released, but that is never going to happen. I also have them on my legs. If I had stayed longer down there there would be more, and I would have turned into a demon."
Namie returned as you were pulling your sleeve back down. She then handed the bags to you, you took them and Izaya stood up.
"I think it's time to show you your room, follow me (l/n)-san."
"Excuse me?" You question.
"You will be staying with me personally here. I have a guest room you can stay in."
You blushed, "...I guess it can't be helped."
You followed Izaya up the stairs and he opened a door that lead to more rooms. You were a bit surprised since his work place was also his home. You looked around as Izaya told you about each room. Afterwards he slipped into his room and left you be.
Entering the bathroom, you learned how to use the shower with difficulties. After the bath you looked through the clothes Namie had picked out and put on what you guessed was the sleep wear. Going to your room you sat on the bed and looked more at the clothes. Most of the color schemes weren't your type. You finally picked out an outfit you liked for tomorrow.
It was a black skirt with gold ruffles, a white button up shirt, and a red vest that also had the same gold ruffles on the back of it. You also had a pair of black stockings and a contraption that looked like it holds up the stockings. You sighed, everything was so different and it was taking a toll on your mental state. Putting the outfit away you laid down on the bed. Hopefully you will get a hang of this new era. Things were easier back in your time. You closed your eyes to try and get a good night's rest.
