I recently toured the super computers at UC San Diego. When I was about to leave I came across the red button!
While on a walk my daughter and I began playing a game that involved hopping and walking between spots on the ground. Our walk became a game of dotted lines. The next morning, on our way to school, we carried on playing the game. Once you notice these little dots you realize they are everywhere (at least in Los Angeles). I assume they are from gum, but I’m not entirely sure. They each have a unique shape while maintaining an striking family resemblance.
This is a pillow with my face on both sides. I made the pillow as a gift for my mother.
I used one of Scout’s coloring pages for a tote bag design.
Scout took some photos and had her thumb in front of the camera. I found the color gradients quite compelling. A week later I found myself using the photos in a number of designs.

After taking a bit of a hiatus I returned to the black rock desert. It was ten years since our first trek to black rock city. Things change but the dust is still dusty. This is the only photo I took this year; it features Kenneth and Ryan
“Look daddy, take a picture!” Scout was very excited to show me the composition of the postcards she had put together on the fridge. Once we get some paint in the mix it will be straight out of Rauschenberg’s combine series. Her expectation that I would immediately take a photo is also quite interesting; looking and taking a photo have become interchangeable.

About a month ago i went to the Bernie Sanders rally in LA. They did a great job of connecting the dots across many issues.
During an evening stroll, we spotted another free library.
scout and I spend the morning together, often from 6- 9am. Some mornings we paint.
