crashing out bcz the manhwa removed KDJ being vulnerable infront of YJH, the protagonist of the story that kept KDJ going without attempting again
this was honestly one of my favorite scenes in all of ORV. This scene is the beginning of KDJ's emotional growth (I believe). it's where he first allows himself to break down in front of someone else thats not the fourth wall. It’s the moment where the version of KDJ who thinks he’s always alone, who struggles to recognize when others genuinely care about him, finally begins to accept that he belongs with his companions.
early-scenario KDJ is so different from late-scenario KDJ. He starts crying and breaking down more often as kimcom moves toward the epilogue. it’s scenes like this that helped me understand KDJ more.
but atp, i should probably stop hoping for the manhwa to keep that kind of emotional depth. they’re clearly more interested in turning ORV into a standard power fantasy instead of leaning into the stuff that made it hit so hard in the first place 😔
