"I'm doing alright." He smiled apologetically. "Truth be told, I wasn't close with Gabby. I mostly came to pay my respects… and then someone mentioned there'd be food." He paused. "…Not my proudest reason, but here we are."

Funerals and memorials were not a pleasant endeavour. Vik regretted coming almost immediately. It made him miss family, made him livid nobody had invited him to his grandfather's funeral years ago, made him bitter at the thought of no one coming when he died, either.
He'd hidden away by the catering service tent with a mortadella focaccia and a nicked bottle of Château Musar, his black suit stark against the damp green grass, his back against the perfect white tablecloth as he took a drag of a joint.
At the sound of someone rounding the table, he shifted one knee aside, silently making room on the grass.
"Oh, so that's where my suit went." Archer approached with an amused smile, coming to a stop beside his friend before lowering himself onto the grass without waiting for an invitation. Memorials had never been his favorite thing. They left too much room for silence, for memories, for thoughts that were better left alone. And judging by the look on Vik's face, whatever weighed on him had little to do with Gabby alone.
Years of friendship had taught Archer when something was off, but he also knew better than to force a heart-to-heart conversation. If Vik wanted to talk, he would. Until then, Archer could at least make sure he wasn't sitting there completely by himself.
"So..." he nodded toward the catering tent. "Have you tried the mini brownies yet? I swear they're good enough to justify crashing a funeral."
" it's about time i finally get some recognition. i provide a great service to the community of grimmvale that goes criminally underappreciated. " he quips through a small smirk. it really was a service after all, some people just needed to roll and smoke a joint after a long day and he was providing a helpful gesture. " and she's accusing me of sampling the merchandise. " he gives a shake of his head. " — the slander goes hard, cross. " she was right however, he didn't come empty handed, he had his own personal supply he could share. " i might. that depends entirely on you, love. what do you have to trade me? "
A laugh slipped past her before she could stop it, earning a couple of disapproving glances from nearby mourners that she promptly ignored. "You're right. A citizen like yourself deserves proper recognition for all your hard work and dedication to Grimmvale," she replied, her smirk making it clear she wasn't buying her own words for a second.
She tilted her head, crossing her arms. "I mean, don't you? Someone has to make sure the quality's up to your standards before you hand it out. Sounds like responsible business practice to me." At his question, one brow arched. "Trade?" She glanced into her purse as though taking inventory. "I've got two dollars, an expired lip balm, and my sparkling personality. I'm practically overpaying."

The approaching sunset coloured the air a deep, bruised shade of blue, and the weather at last felt fresh. This must have been the last of the heavier flower arrangements she’d had to move into the venue, and he flexed his hand where the rose thorns had pricked him as he pulled open the passenger door for Rosalie, following behind him from the sidewalk.
Richard rounded the car, crushed out his cigarette with his heel, and slid into the driver’s seat. This felt like a by now familiar, welcome reprieve at a social function. He settled into the soft leather, letting his guard fall by a fraction, and pinched the bridge of his nose.
Rosalie was more grateful for Richard's help than she'd probably admit out loud. As much as Gabby's death had affected her personally, today wasn't about her grief. It was about giving someone she cared about the farewell they deserved, and she'd poured every bit of that into the arrangements. Every flower had been chosen carefully, not just because it looked beautiful, but because it meant something. She wanted them to tell the story words couldn't.
By the time they reached the car, Richard had carried arrangement after arrangement for her, and Rosalie offered him a small, appreciative smile as she slid into the passenger seat, waiting for him to get in before letting herself relax into the seat for the first time all evening with a quiet sigh.
"I owe you one," she said with a tired smile, smoothing an imaginary crease from her dress. When Richard spoke, a quiet laugh escaped her before she could stop it.
"Please don't," she teased. "I'd rather not have to organize another memorial."
[ logan lerman, cismale, he/him ] - was that ROBIN HOOD i saw around town today? nope, turns out it was ARCHER EVERHART, the 32-year old THIEF & MEMBER OF THE LOST BOYS who has lived in town for THREE YEARS. i heard they have a reputation of being CHARISMATIC & RECKLESS. let's hope the killer doesn't go after them next while being here in grimmvale.
basics.
NAME: theodore whitmore archer everhart. NICKNAMES: arch (reserved for close friends). LABELS: the outlaw. the idealist. the runaway. BIRTHDAY: May 14. ZODIAC SIGN: taurus. GENDER & PRONOUNS: cis man, he/him. ORIENTATION: bisexual. STATUS: single. HEIGHT: 6'0" (1.83 m). OCCUPATION: thief. member of the lost boys. TRAITS: charismatic. resourceful. idealistic. impulsive. stubborn. protective.
background.
triggers: corruption. class inequality. family conflict.
born as theodore whitmore, the youngest of the whitmore children and the son of one of greenwich, connecticut's most influential families. for generations, the whitmore name had been synonymous with wealth, philanthropy, and political influence, opening doors long before introductions were ever made.
behind the spotless public image was a family that valued reputation above all else. appearances were carefully curated, scandals quietly buried, and loyalty expected without question.
unlike the rest of his family, theodore spent far more time with the people working behind the scenes than the people sitting around the dinner table. he knew every employee by name and would happily disappear into the kitchens, gardens, or maintenance buildings just to hear their stories.
as he got older, he began noticing the cracks beneath the polished surface. underpaid employees, unfair working conditions, and families treated as expendable while executives celebrated record profits. eventually, he uncovered corruption involving the family's businesses and his father's political influence, only to be told to stop asking questions because "that's just how the world works." everyone else accepted it. he couldn't.
before walking away for good, he stole a considerable amount of money, valuables, and financial records from his own family, anonymously returning as much as he could to the people they had exploited. by sunrise, he had become the black sheep of the whitmore family.
rather than defending himself, he disappeared. leaving behind the name theodore whitmore, he spent the next several years moving from city to city under a revolving door of fake identities, never staying in one place long enough for anyone to ask too many questions.
eventually, he found himself in new york city, drifting between odd jobs, cheap apartments, and increasingly ambitious thefts. every job only reinforced what he already believed: the system had never been built for ordinary people. sooner or later, he stopped pretending to play by its rules.
he developed a personal code he refuses to break. he doesn't steal from ordinary people, small businesses, or anyone struggling to get by. if you're going to lose something because of him, chances are you could afford to lose it in the first place.
somewhere along the way, he crossed paths with another thief who happened to be chasing the exact same target. what started as terrible timing unexpectedly became one of the few constants in his otherwise unpredictable life.
after one job came a little too close to ending in handcuffs, he and his best friend grabbed whatever they could carry, stole a car, and drove until new york disappeared behind them. they washed up in the fogbound town of grimmvale expecting to stay only long enough for the heat to die down.
after arriving in grimmvale, he left every previous alias behind and introduced himself as archer everhart. he continued stealing only from those he believed could afford to lose it, eventually catching the attention of the lost boys motorcycle club, who saw something familiar in his refusal to prey on ordinary people. respect came first, friendship followed, and before he quite realized it, archer had found himself both a new name and a place to call home.

" do i look like someone who carries around something as vile and unlawful as drugs on me? i'm shocked and quite frankly appalled. " he quips knowing well there's plenty on him. recreational was prohibited? drugs were prohibited? it was just seen as as a monetary opportunity in the midst of being there for the memorial. there was no harm in that. " a blunt does sound bloody good right now i'll give you that. "
"Oh, please. You're basically Grimmvale's model citizen," Aaliyah shot back, the sarcasm impossible to miss as she rolled her eyes. "I'm supposed to believe you showed up completely sober and empty-handed?" A smirk tugged at the corner of her lips as she looked him over. "Come on, I know you've got at least one on you. Don't make me pat you down."

"That was just so touching. What a speech." Alana said, looking over at the person next to her. She wished she could roll her eyes. Everyone being here in the same place, acting like they cared about some random girl, pissed her off. Sure, she was a nice girl, but the fakeness everywhere was astounding. "Anyway, you got something a little harder to drink?"
Aaliyah hadn't known the girl. Truth be told, she'd only shown up because everyone else had, and apparently that was reason enough. At Alana's comment, she let out a quiet scoff. "Yeah, real moving," she muttered, her tone making it painfully obvious she didn't buy a single word of the speech.
"Something harder?" That finally earned the faintest smirk from her. She rummaged through her purse until her fingers found a small silver flask, holding it out without much ceremony. "Figured I'd need this more than flowers." Her gaze drifted briefly toward the crowd before settling back on Alana. "Help yourself. Just don't let anyone catch you. I don't feel like getting kicked out of a memorial."

"I'm sure the township thought this was a good idea." Riley paused as she shook her head. Gabby was her best friend, her ride or die. She gripped her white cane a little tighter. "She deserved more than this. Whoever did this to her... they need to catch them." She let out an exhale as she took a step away from the fire.
Rosalie had never considered herself one of Gabby's closest friends, but that didn't mean her death didn't affect her. Gabby was someone who had always been kind and easy to remember, and seeing someone like her gone in such a horrible way was something Rosalie was still struggling to process.
She listened quietly to Riley, her expression turning sad. "I hope they find whoever did that to her" Rosalie said softly. "She didn't deserve any of this." She glanced toward the fire for a moment, then back at Riley. "I just... I still can't believe she's gone."
it didn't sit right with him, how someone so nice, someone he had dated could just die like that, be found in pieces and yet no one had any clue what happened. there had to be something, and it frustrated him that there wasn't anything to be done other than to continue life as usual. tonight was supposed to be a celebration of gabby's life, but he found himself sulking, drinking from his flask in the near darkness, lost in thought for a moment before realizing he wasn't alone. "what? you want something?"
Rosalie had always felt there was something of herself reflected in Gabby. Maybe it was their shared love for beautiful things, or the way they both managed to make people feel seen without even trying. Whatever it was, her death had shaken her more than she'd expected. Flowers had always been the only language that made sense whenever words failed her, so she'd spent most of the evening quietly fixing arrangements, making sure every stem sat exactly where it belonged. It wasn't just decoration to her, it was one last way of honoring her friend.
She hadn't noticed Roman standing nearby until his voice broke the silence. Her hands paused for a moment before she looked up at him, brows knitting together with quiet concern.
"No," she answered softly, offering him a small shake of her head. "I just came to fix these."
She glanced at the flask in his hand before her attention returned to his face.
"But..." she hesitated, choosing her words carefully. "You don't look like you're doing okay." A faint, sympathetic smile tugged at the corner of her lips. "You don't have to be, either." She took a small step closer. "If you want some company, I'm here."
[ zion moreno, transwoman, she/her ] - was that ROSETTA i saw around town today? nope, turns out it was ROSALIE SOLIS, the 30-year old FLORIST who has lived in town for HER WHOLE LIFE. i heard they have a reputation of being CHARMING & VAIN. let’s hope the killer doesn’t go after them next while being here in grimmvale.

ORIENTATION: straight. STATUS: single. HEIGHT: 5'6" (1.68 m). OCCUPATION: owner of everbloom florals. TRAITS: charming. confident. thoughtful. judgmental. flirtatious. stubborn.
background.
triggers: death.
born and raised in grimmvale, rosalie grew up surrounded by flowers and the quiet magic of everbloom florals, her family's flower shop.
everbloom has been a part of the town for generations. unlike some businesses in grimmvale, the shop has always remained neutral, welcoming everyone who walks through its doors regardless of their affiliations, reputation, or the side of town they come from.
her family built a reputation around kindness, discretion, and treating every customer with the same respect. in a town full of secrets and rivalries, everbloom became one of the few places people trusted to simply exist without judgment.
as a child, rosalie spent most of her days at the shop, learning the names and meanings of flowers from her grandfather. the two shared a particularly close bond, and he was the one who taught her that flowers were more than decoration. they carried memories, apologies, celebrations, and things people struggled to say out loud.
for years, rosalie insisted she would never take over the family business. she dreamed of something more glamorous, something that matched her love for fashion, beauty, and creativity.
eventually, she realized floral design was its own kind of art. creating arrangements allowed her to combine everything she loved: beauty, emotion, and making people feel special.
after her grandfather passed, rosalie took on a bigger role at everbloom florals, eventually becoming the owner and continuing the legacy he left behind while adding her own personal touch.
known around town for her charm, confidence, and unmistakable flirtatious nature, rosalie has a reputation for being able to make almost anyone smile.
although she can be a little judgmental and has very strong opinions about almost everything, her heart is always in the right place. she may criticize your flower choices, but she'll still make sure you leave with something beautiful.
after years in grimmvale, rosalie has become a familiar face around town. her charm and ability to make people feel welcome have made everbloom a place many people return to.

flirts as naturally as most people breathe. sometimes she's genuinely interested, sometimes she's just having fun.

somehow remembers birthdays, anniversaries, favorite flowers, and random little details people mention in passing.
has expensive taste and a talent for finding luxury-looking things on a budget.
secretly loves romance novels, even though she'll complain about the endings.
judges people's flower choices in her head but would never let someone leave her shop with an arrangement she knows they'll regret.
always has fresh flowers in her apartment.
cries every single time one of her plants dies and then insists she isn't emotionally attached to them.
ironically enough, despite working with flowers and spending most of her days around plants and soil, rosalie is quite particular about cleanliness. she hates feeling dirty, dislikes sticky textures and stains, and will absolutely complain if something ruins her outfit.
