◜♡◞┊ Soft blush colored hair and deep velvet skin was as alluring as it was eye catching, her plush lips remain in their natural pouting position as she lifts her gaze to look at the young man. Another time, another place—she would have gladly graced him with a smile of her own but today was not that day. For she was here with a purpose. —
“Are you the owner of this estate? The one they call Douma?” She cups her hands in front of her body and dips her head. “So sorry to come unannounced, you do not know me but I’ve heard quite a tale about you. Mostly pleasant things, of course, you’ve certain built a quality reputation for yourself among the people here. –Most of them at least.” She now lifts her cranium, their eyes meeting for brief moment. “It’s come to my attention that you’ve been offering ‘extended stays’ to quite a few of your followers. …Some of which have spouses & children still awaiting them even now but still they do not return.”
“I’ll be frank with you, sir, I know what you are, I know what it is you do, and I have more than the necessary power to take your life if need be. …”
“But action before offering is not my way. …So I’m asking you, if those men and women are still alive… please release them to me at once & swear not to engage in these activities again.”
"Ah. How wonderful! A complete stranger, a hero venturing forth to meet the leader of a society that has many rumors around him to see if she can free the poor, confined people from the tyrannical grasp of a monster!” He sounded way too dramatic for his own good. Exaggerated, it would be seen as mocking by anyone who paid attention. And yet he didn’t mock it. He did find it to be quite curious. His ways of showing that were...lacking. The numbered eyes focused on his guest, with the same smile, filled with glee.
There was no rage, no confusion, nothing that would be expected from someone who got accused of such things. The few followers around him, however, seemed to be...glaring at the woman. Almost not holding back their clear hostility. Their beloved leader was accused of something like that, after all! But Douma? His face didn’t change at all. He seemingly ignored the threat on his life, like he didn’t even hear it.
“Okay. They are free to go. I have never held anyone here, I have never forced anyone to stay.” And that was true. He never threatened or killed anyone who decided to leave. Most of them were unaware of his nature as a demon. He killed only those who could lead demon hunters to his doorstep, after all. The stupid ones. He satiated his hunger elsewhere, outside of rare occasions, like just now. Today. How ironic that this woman decided to visit right now.
“You may go around the place freely, ask whoever you see here. They are all those same people that I offered that extended stay, as you said.” His large, bright eyes, shining with all colors of the rainbow looked into the ones of his guest. His body language, the color of the skin on his face, the facial expression. Everything said one thing - he didn’t lie.
“Some tyrant, I am, eh?” He was laughing now. Families, she said Well, outsiders wouldn’t know. These people, all of them, either ran from the abuse and suffering of their house or lived on the streets, barely going by, starving in their poverty. They were unhappiest of them all. And he wanted to show them the light. And some of them would stay with him forever. But just...some of them.
