morning illusion ˎˊ˗ › for @dxriki
sihyeon doesn’t needs to know the time whenever he wakes up. even if he had a rough night, or slept for a few hours—he knows that it’s still early in the morning, a habit he can never seem to get rid off. with half lidded eyes, he glances listlessly at the older boy sleeping soundly in his bed. the morning light peeks through the curtains, shining its rays softly on that fool’s face. sihyeon absentmindedly brushes a few hair strands that’s stuck to his cheeks, before retracting them almost immediately.
taking a pair of glasses by his nightstand, sihyeon rises to refresh himself. he frowns when he realises his legs seems to carry the same exhaustion he has in his head.
again, he got swept away. an image of riki’s stupid sly smile flashes by his mind. it’s annoying, but he’ll have to clean up first. then what’s next on the agenda… ah, right. breakfast. he casually picks up a random shirt to wear before heading off to the kitchen.
he likes the accessibility and deliciousness of convenience store food, stocking up boxes of various ramyun or tteokbokki brands. sihyeon never got to enjoy these in his youth, never knew they existed even. it’s delectable how a simple packet of powder could bring so much flavours to his mouth… whoever invented instant noodles was a true genius. of course, he’ll add his vegetables in to make it more healthy. napa and tofu are staples for him.
for a moment, he looks at the noodles that are being cooked on the stove. strange how he got used to making two portions.
the fragrance of instant ramyun permeates the air, flowing into the bedroom where riki is sleeping, obviously. it’s probably the first thing that guy would notice when he wakes up. before the noodles are done, he goes over to lean against side of the door, knocking on it. “how long are you going to sleep, hyung? wake up before i eat your breakfast.”
riki cannot deny that he is a charming man. if anything, it's essentially a known fact that he is the way that he is and people have to prepare themselves with that when pursuing any sort of relationship with him that isn't business: platonic, romantic... in this case, sexual.
it's a game to him, really. with his line of work, he knows that all he needs to do is picking up on signs to get on people's good sides. he tells them exactly what they want to hear to trust them and he doesn't really have to use any sort of power. being in the life he's had for nine years, things like this come so easily to him. people's emotions are... easy to him. what makes it more efficient is that when people realize his true intentions, they call him all sorts of names and tell him they'll never fall for his tricks again. that gives him less people to talk to... and more customers to fool.
oh sihyeon is... a different story. because even after knowing his true intentions and who he is deep down, the boy doesn't really do anything drastic to push him away. sure, when riki pulls those cheesy, flirtatious lines that usually sweep people off their feet, sihyeon has no reaction. and sure, there are many times where when riki finds sihyeon on his own and comes up to bother him, sihyeon doesn't really pay him much attention or give him the reaction that he wants. but he hasn't cussed out riki yet for being a liar. he hasn't told him to stay away, nor has he told him that's a piece of shit on this earth...
naturally, it made the older man curious... curious enough to continue pursuing interactions with the other that were originally transactional for business to being... sensual. even if he isn't getting anything that can be beneficial for him and his ways of getting money, he didn't really mind. sihyeon was good in bed anyways so it works out!
so when riki wakes up in sihyeon's bed, the familiar sight of his bedroom doesn't really puzzle riki. if anything, he feels like he's seen this specific ceiling and these sheets so often. the top view towers was miles better than the urbane residence apartments on the south side... so there was no complaints at all. if anything, he'd crash his place more often. his eyes scan the room until they land on the frame of the door where sihyeon stands. the sleepy smile that's on his face from seeing the younger boy drops as soon as he recognizes the smell in the air... making him sigh.
he frowns. "ramyun again?" he groans as he sits up from the bed, letting out a yawn and stretching his arms. "hyeonnie, you're young. you need to take better care of yourself. i know you've never had ramyun before you lived in this town, but good god... if you needed someone to make you actual breakfast, you could've just woken me up." he shakes his head. "seriously, your fridge looks so barren... i feel like i need to wake up earlier so you don't keep having us eat this."
