I think the other reason I don't really get into ships as portrayed by fandom culture is that it seems like the mindset is more like. "I want these characters to be in a Romantic Relationship(TM)" instead of "I want these characters' relationship to be romantic"
What I mean here is that, so often I see pairings enacting romance tropes to the point of heavily altering or downright replacing their original dynamic - as if the people behind it only understand romance as a series of checklists to tick off. Couples like to kiss and sleep in the same bed and flirt with each other, so it doesn't matter who the characters are, if they're a couple then naturally they'll do those things, right??
And that's where the whole thing starts to lose me, because I would assume that the appeal of shipping characters is, y'know... the characters? Rather than just, the idea of a couple? If I'm thinking about how it'd be cool for them to be in love, my first thought is always "so how would they show it," because just like everything else about a person, the answer is going to be different on a case-by-case basis.
Maybe the characters involved aren't really into kissing, but they like arranging date activities. Maybe they aren't committed to the structure of dating at all, and just want to be around each other whenever they can. And even if they are the types to like doing traditionally romantic things, that doesn't suddenly erase whatever else they had going on before they started adding that on top of it.
I'm not saying that the more typical romance tropes and activities are bad, just that they're applied kind of excessively, regardless of whether or not they actually work for the characters involved. I want to see my favorite characters having relationships that are true to who they are, not what the stock depiction of a couple says they should be.

Hey, i'm putting together a pinterest board of the Potter family tree, from Ignotus and Linfred to Lily Luna, but I need help! There are so many characters, and i'm trying to give names and faces to all those whose existence is only assumed (since people don't just appear out of thin air), so i'd need suggestions for fancasts. Do you have any?
Some of the characters I've already named are:
— Thomas and Josephine Potter (neé Rowle), parents of Henry Potter;
— Henry and Nolwenn potter (neé Hexsmith), parents of Fleamont and Charlus Potter;
— Euphemia Potter (née Blishwick), wife of Fleamont and mother of James Potter;
— Perseus Potter, son of Charlus Potter and Dorea Black;
— Flora Potter (née Abbott), wife of Perseus and mother of Iris Potter;
— Iris Potter, daughter of Perseus and Flora Potter (this is my OC for my fanfic);
I NEED SUGGESTIONS!!!

Bill Weasley and His Family:
☆ I like to imagine that Fleur taught her kids French, but they don't always use it except to talk in secret in front of Bill, who tried but failed to learn the language. Victoire (the oldest daughter) only uses French when speaking to her mother or to flirt with Teddy Lupin, her boyfriend. Dominique only uses it to cuss. Louis is like his father, he only understands the very basics and will only greet or use simple responses in French.
☆ All three of Bill's children have long golden-white hair and big blue eyes while obtaining their mother's beauty much thanks to her Veela blood.
☆ Victoire was the first Weasley to not get sorted into Gryffindor and got sorted into Ravenclaw. She's extremely smart, beautiful, and showed an early talent for dueling; much thanks to her ability to easily read and predict her opponents. While sorted in Ravenclaw, her bravery is still there as she often has to go and help her younger siblings, and cousins, out of trouble and/or trouble. She will snap and lecture them, but hug them close knowing that they're safe. Still, she does possess that outwardly appearance of being a boy-obessed teen as she's almost always talking about her boyfriend, Teddy. The two are practically inseparable and this causes a few bickerings between her and her father who's concerned about how close they are; typical dad stuff. Fleur will come and rescue her daughter from Bill and joke how she was "just like her at that age."
☆ Much more wild and fierce, Dominique Weasley is the middle child and youngest daughter to Bill and Fleur, but she acts more like a wild animal than a young lady according to Rita Skeeter. Like her father, she got sorted in Gryffindor and would later play for Gryffindor's quidditch team as a Beater. Hyper and short-fused, Dominique is the family's known troublemaker who has a nose for mischief. She obsesses over her family's war stories and often talks about how she could have something, or someone, fierce to fight against - a great adventure! This is always shot down though as her parents are very firm in not wanting to put her through what they did. Unfortunately, however, in the summer of her 4th year, she got that adventure she was seeking for and came into contact with a mysterious man who she caught lurking by the Shell Cottage. While friendly at first, it wasn't until the full moon slipped out between a dark cloud did the man reveal himself to be someone affiliated with Fenrir Greyback who came to "finish the job." Dominique was attacked, but by the time her father came running out to save his little girl - he was gone. Dominique wasn't as lucky as her dad and developed lycanthropy - she became a werewolf. After that, she became a husk of her former self and became quiet and reserved. Only in the comfort of the Scamander twins and the creatures on Hogwarts grounds, she found herself relaxed and allow former self slip back, but only time and support could fully heal her.
☆ Louis is the youngest, and only son, who is DEFINITELY his father's child through and through. He loves hearing about his dad's adventures whenever he comes back from a curse-breaking missions and is always the first one to greet him when he comes home. He wishes for another brother though, because he's constantly bullied by his older sisters. Victoire often uses him for cosmetic practice as she tries out new looks on him before doing it to herself, whereas Dominique just likes to mess with him. He's always at odds with them, but he secretly loves them (just don't tell them that). When it came time for him to go to Hogwarts, he was sorted into Gryffindor and with Dominique's help he was quick to get into Quidditch as a chaser. A well-known flirt, Louis was a popular young lad who was, admittedly, a bit full of himself. That was, until Dominique's attack. He stopped everything to try and be by her side, but she kept pushing him away, so he threw himself into his studies and his knack for transfiguration was starting to shine, especially when he took an interest into being an animagus. Hearing a rumor from his Uncle Harry, he thought he could help Dominique with her transformations if he could transform into an animal as well. With a few failed attempts, many sending him to the hospital wing, he finally became an animagus in the beginning of his fifth year - a lion.

So, Wizarding Robes
I saw this post by @iamnmbr3 and @kittenjammer talking about wizarding fashion and I wanted to talk about this for a while, so I'm going to give my own two cents on it based on fashion history. I love history in general, but fashion history and historical architecture are two I’m incredibly passionate about. So, here we go (post with a lot of pictures ahead):

"Despite the Tyrell's impartialness during the Dance, the presence of the Lord of Highgarden's youngest daughter caught the attention of the King. While already wed, he seemed to have found comfort in the strange new rose when the world around the King seem to push him into responsabilities he was not trained to take. Lady Margaery was vibrant and distantly related to his Hightower mother and a welcome respite during the War. After the King's injury, it is said Margaery took care of him and both had grown close, that upon his return and taking of the throne, she was by his side. Upon the death of Queen Helaena, it was clear to anyone who was a candidate for future Queen and mother of his heirs."
"Aegon II has ever sought admiration, but Margaery offers something more potent: adoration laced with ambition. He may not yet know the danger of a woman who knows how to be beloved." – Maester Thoren to the Archmaester of Whispering Lore
"They say the king wears green now not for his house, but for her eyes." – A popular jape among washerwomen and stableboys at court
