A tiny red lure hung out in the middle of the waterway, one of many in Selphia, never moving or giving so much as a tug to indicate anything was on the other end. Dylas frowned, his ears lowering in response almost with a will of their own. The former guardian had been at this for over an hour and still nothing wanted to bite. Disappointed and mildly annoyed he refused to move in fear he might actually scare any fish watching the lure, patiently waiting for their chance to grab onto it.
A scowl spread across the man’s face, the voice of one of two people he didn’t particularly care for echoing in his lower-fuzzy horse ears.
“You’re welcome to jump in. I am not.” He huffed, sparing Leon a cold glance as the infuriating man came ever closer.
Instinctively he tried his best to keep an eye on him while watching the lure, out of fear Leon would once again push him into the water while he was preoccupied. He wasn’t leaving anything to chance.
Oh how he wanted to push Dylas in so badly again, but seeing how on guard he was, he couldn’t get the chance to. But maybe he could pick on him in more ways than one. Seeing how seriously that he took with fishing, sometimes it was just too damn easy, and he loved it.
“Afraid of getting a little wet?” Leon toyed a little bit before he too threw his line out, the lure plopping into the water a few inches away from his,” Focusing more than usual I see. On the hunt for a specific fish today?”
Leon knew the time of year it was, Summer, right where many of the rarer fish would be biting, especially his favorites. Now, the question was remaining, who was going to be the first to catch something? “Weathers nice today though…you sure you still don’t want to take a swim? I know you’re missing your swimming trunks, but I’m sure Frey isn’t around to see you drowning.”
With his eyes still on Leon Dylas tried his best to quell his growing desire to punch the bastard right in his smug face. If their previous interactions were anything to go by, Leon thrived off pissing him off in the most aggravating ways.
This being one of those moments.
Gripping the rod tighter he tried his best to remain as level headed as possible. Harder said than done with Leon.
“Unlike you, I don’t want to swim with my lunch.” Dylas shot back remember the one time he had managed to get Leon in the water. At the time the kitsune had pushed him and on reflex- Dylas grabbed him and they both fell into the lake on the other side of town. It was during winter... and both of them ended up sick.
“Plus,” He paused, narrowing his eyes at the blue eyed man, “I don’t want anything scaring the fish away. Though you being here might already be doing that.” Hostility laced every single word as they came out of his mouth. Fully expressing his distain for Leon and his nonsense he brought with him.
The small red lure caught his attention as it floated closer to his, bobbing up and down as the water reacted to the gentle breezes of summer against the crystal clear water.
“Keep that away from my line, I don’t need it tangled.” Another nasty glare was shot in Leon’s direction.
Too Quiet || Syphoria & Dylas
She still wasn’t sure what was going on, with the silence creeping her out. Her little friends, those who always came to visit her, they were gone. They couldn’t be gone gone, they were just here yesterday. Could someone of scared them off? She feared for the worst, as some of the monsters that wandered the forest were merely babies, especially the little woolies. Taking a deep breath, she took her bow out and started to venture out, hoping to find some clue as to where her little friends had gone.
Silently and carefully, the woman treaded the forest to find any signs of any living being in the forest, whether it be a monster or….a human. If it was a human, then it would make sense, since not many of them understood about the monsters here. But just as she thought there was no sign of life, her ears perked up, twitching when she heard a noise. Was someone by the water?
Sneaking up into some brush and looking through it, sure enough, she saw someone that looked to be fishing, narrowing her eyes at the mere sight of him. He must of been the one to scare off her friends.
Taking an arrow from the quiver on her back, she placed it onto the string of the bow and pulled it tight, aiming towards the stranger’s back. Without much thought, she aimed the arrow and released it, the arrow flying through the air right towards his back.
Sounds of the slow running river filled the silence which seemed to be around even after spending just a little time fishing. The fish, colored in all sorts of hues, lazily stayed near the bottom - always out of reach of his lure as if they were smart enough to avoid it. But Dylas was patient when it came to fishing. All he had to was wait silently; and slowly shift his lure closer and closer and then- Bam! There would be a scaley slippery fish on the end of his line.
That was the hope anyway.
Mulling over the thought of sashimi or maybe grilled fish he forgot about his surroundings for only a moment... and a moment was all that was needed for the sudden sound of something ripping through the air to register in his mind. Alarm had his large ears pointing straight up as every fiber in his being shouted at him to duck.
Confusion and fear ripped through him muddling up the warning signs so much so his foot moved the wrong way and- a splash erupted in the otherwise tranquil river as the former guardian fell into it. Yokmir Forest’s river wasn’t that deep, as Dylas found after pulled himself up and out of the water, completely covered in a layer of dirt, river muck, and foul smelling water. Only after he glanced back towards where his fishing pole had been did he notice the cause of alarm.
There was an arrow embedded in the fallen tree trunk he had been standing on. Snarling he wiped his long soggy wet hair off the sides of his face.
“Whoever you are I suggest you get the hell out of where you are hiding!” Dylas exploded, his lips curling up exposing his teeth as any wild animal might.
"I heard that you caught a really big fish the other day!" Proud Frey is proud.
[Hiya Frey-mun!]
Dylas blinked at the green haired princess for but a moment, taking the time to process the sentence into his mind before his confused expression turned into one of a smug smirk.
“Yeah I did. The sucker was tough to pull in however..” He coughed near the end, remembering how his back had nearly given in over the size of the salmon he caught.
-
“It is fine,” was the automatic response to Frey’s evident concern. Dylas had done this plenty of times and he wasn’t any worse for wear, plus it was fun to him- pain or no pain.
Huffing a little bit he continued, “I’ll be more careful.” It was more to placate the woman than anything else.
“Well that’s good, if you got hurt then someone else could swoop in and steal your good catch chances while you’re recovering!” It was motivation to stay healthy, that’s for sure, though she wasn’t as good at sitting still for so long.
“So is today your day off, or are you just on break?” A small smile tugged at the lips of the green haired royal, though she did need to look up a bit– he was rather tall.
His long thin horse tail flicked up into the air the moment Frey mentioned that someone could steal his catch, or even catch bigger fish just because he was recovering. The thought didn’t please him at all, if the scowl slowly curving his lips downwards were any indication of that.
“I’ll.. Keep that in mind,” this time he meant what he said. He didn’t anyone beating him to a big catch.
Dylas couldn’t say how relieved he was when she shifted the conversation to something else. The former guardian was able to forget, temporarily, about someone stealing his catches. When she mentioned day off he nodded curtly.
Shrugging he replied non-nonchalantly, “Porcoline gave me and Margaret a day off. Can’t tell you why, but he felt we had been working hard enough for the past two days to warrant it.” Of course Dylas did protest against the decision at the time, but like Porocline and food- the man was relentless and stubborn.

[Won’t be on long as my father will be here at 3 something and I am ‘required’ to spend time with him. Soooo I will try my best to get to as many replies as I can before then.]

“Awesome! I wouldn’t have been able to manage that.” A glimmer of concern became evident at the man’s strain from the battle with the giant fish. “Don’t overdo it okay? Fishing should be fun, not something that you get hurt over!”

Too Quiet
Syphoria had decided to venture out and explore the forest, making sure that her monster friends were safe. But with her looking around, only did she realize, that it was quiet….too quiet. Where were the woolies, the buffamoos, and even the gnolls and ants she’d see daily? Something wasn’t right.
“Where…are they?” They couldn’t of been sent to the Forest of Beginnings already, Hito reassured her that they were safe yesterday. Now she was really worried…where could they have gone?
Dylas in pursuit of bigger fish than what could be found in the waterways of Selphia had decided to venture into Yokmir forest, the very place he knew Amber had been found by the earthmate a long time ago. He hadn’t been here before mainly due to being too busy and not entirely sure if wanted to venture into a monster infested area. Strangely enough, he didn’t see anything at all. Not a woolie which he knew were harmless nor the more aggressive monsters such as Gnolls.
All around him was silence. An eerie uncomfortable silence- one that made his tail swish back and forth behind him to convey the unease settling within him. Was there something wrong? Or did the monsters simply stop moving altogether because of him?
With a quick shake of his head he tightened his grip on the wooden fishing pole; with custom made etching on the sides and traversed the moss covered ground with little to no resistance from the residents whom called this forest home.
It was only when he saw a large tree trunk overlaying a running river did he stop and watch a few dark shadows under the water swimming calmly through the water. From what he could tell some were of decent size and almost immediately, he began to attach a wiggling worm to the end of the hook and carefully toss the lure into the water far enough downstream of the fish to not startle them. Despite the silence he didn’t mind it now that he could actually fish.

He was out and about again, this time with a fishing rod in hand, always enjoying a calm, relaxing day fishing at the local lake. But this time, he knew he wasn’t alone. Normally he wasn’t and now, he was actually searching for any signs of the sullen stallion, who always was fishing when he wasn’t working at Porcoline’s restaurant. Oh Leon was going to have a field day.
“Fish not biting today?” He merely mused as he slowly approached the lake, seeing the all-too familiar ears and tail of the fellow guardian,” Might have to go swimming in order to find them.”

REBLOG IF YOU ARE HELLA BORED AND WOULDN’T MIND SOME CURIOUS ANONS.
I am back guys!
[Hello everyone! It has been a long time since I did anything on this blog. I kinda had a falling out with him but now thanks to a few people, I am eager to get this pony dork interacting with other RPers!
I will be updating some things on Dylas’ blog and on OC’s blog for a little bit. So if things look wonky at any time, I am just fiddling with things. Thank you for anyone that has followed me, reblogged things, and still checking to see if this blog is alive.
I am back. And I hope it stays that way.]
