to think if consciousness was seen as a flexible, almost malleable “thing” rather than the common idea associated with that word. I do not mean awake vs sleep, but if I were I would argue one could be asleep while they are waking.

Awareness and consciousness go hand in hand and one can be so hyper aware in their wants and desires, that they lose consciousness of the results of actions. It creates a sleep while waking. It creates a sense of purpose that is self constructed, reflects what one is taught, and not so much the fruit of your interactions.

I have been told that people did not intend to do [thing], as though they should be pardoned from the results and repercussions of said [thing] and if that’s not a lack of consciousness, I have no idea what is.
