we've definitely posted about this before but if i see one more person act like the only forms of childhood trauma that exist are abuse from family or sexual assault i will actually start crying and it will be so so so loud everyone will hear it from every corner of the earth

Natural disasters! I never see anyone talk about that one and as a result I spent years thinking that watching my hometown get destroyed on the news and subsequently having to uproot my entire life at the age of seven wasn't Real Trauma because there was no Abuser™

Being taken away from your family or home. You'd think people would mention it more.

Government took me away from my father when I was around 11 because my neurodivergent traits apparently made it look like my father was abusing me. [Flinching away from being touched and not speaking with anyone. Like I had anyone to speak to when I entered that school in the middle of the school year.]

Got put into a facility that then sent me to a psych ward to get diagnosed for autism. I saw and experienced some pretty fucked up shit and that leads me to my second point of even just SEEING the people around you being treated badly can be a form of trauma
