I’ve seen people pass around the “hold up, I’m googlin’ something” image but it cropped out the part where he was googling “how many guys can one guy take”
this page, in isolation, is possibly the funniest thing i have seen in any manga

[image id: the sculpture “box n°1 - amore rapito” finished in 2015 by daniele accossato. it depicts a side view of the roman god of love, bound and shoved into a wooden shipping crate. the empty space around the god is filled with bubble wrap, as if to protect him from travel damage.
he’s sitting on his heels, with his calves and thighs touching and his ankles bound together with rope. one of his knees is pressed into the bottom of the crate, while the other is almost horizontal and nearly touching his chest, which has been pushed down.
his wings are bound together with rope behind his back, as are his wrists, causing his arms to strain and his fists to clench. his head is turned to face the viewer directly. there is a piece of silver duct tape covering his mouth, although his nose remains free. his brow is slightly furrowed, and his eyes convey an overwhelming sense of despair.

straight woman gay fetishist fans of mcr are really weird too because they like. i don’t know how to articulate this but they only enjoy homoeroticism thats in the flavor of “hahaha this guy does this gay thing but Sure hes straight” like even when theres clear cases of like. lgbt people celebrating their gender/sexuality or making a political statement about homophobia or whatever they still try to pigeonhole it into ‘this person insists theyre a straight man but they do funny things i enjoy like kiss men’ even when said people like. literally never even said they were straight and actually makes a point to not label themself as such????? whats up with that
spoke in general terms even though i’m talking about mcr because this absolutely is a pattern i’ve seen in a lot of other contexts but if we’re gonna be specific for a second
like even if we’re not factoring in gender stuff they’ve talked about, gerard way has literally not stated they’re straight!!!
(maybe the exception of one time in an interview talking about gender stuff saying they were confused about gender stuff growing up and how that worked with knowing they liked women and i believe that may be the one time they ever used straight in reference to themself but also from context it was clear it was talking about like ‘straight attraction’ as in attraction to women (but not commenting anything either way about men) and sorting through stuff and wasn’t referring to how they label themself as an identity.)
they’ve consistently expressed to be the type of person who doesn’t like labels but who demonstrably has expressed attraction to both men and women!
like literally in response to fans like this being weird and homophobic in a fetishizing way its so clear their frustration isn’t with being “seen as gay” like these fans wanna paint to make some weird homophobic narrative, the frustration is with how cishet people want to water down their political and personal expression into something meant to cater to them.
like they literally refuse to let people call them straight
like yes they are personally evasive of labels but its clear from how they go about this stuff thats more personal preference than “denial”. the fact that cishet fans can see them talking like this plus everything else in actions and interviews and stuff that demonstrate attraction to men and women and gender stuff and come to either the conclusion that ‘gerard says hes straight but acts gay on stage for us fangirls ahaha no homo XD’ or ‘lgbt fans are reading too much into things gerard is Obviously straight’ i literally respect neither of you you’re both homophobic (and transphobic tbh!) in different ways and thats clouding you from seeing what should be clear right in front of your eyes and like. respecting them or any lgbt person
@fever-dreamxo this was literally just a personal rant people started reblogging prompted by seeing people insisting gerard is straight so yes it does happen
love that you’re being condescending to someone literally almost your same age while admitting you didn’t even read what you’re supposedly objecting to
was not focusing on gender stuff here but if you’re gonna insist on that with no sources i can pull out mine lmao
first off gerard uses both he and they pronouns. i just used they here is all.
(then on another occasion the next year they talked more about researching for that book and were reading through trans resources and said this later that day)
literally like their entire tour after hesitant alien they gave speeches about trans rights every night and often implicated themself in that wording for example like
“One of the biggest struggles is for transgender people going through that. And I applaud every one of you that goes through that and figures out your identity. And just be you. And that’s wonderful. I feel like we get to be more ourselves now. I felt like I was wearing a costume for a long time and now I don’t feel like I’m wearing one anymore. Thank you for allowing that“ (from here)
like the same as with sexuality stuff they might not be super overt about it but if you’re automatically like “lmaooooo no way gerard’s not cis” then like. seems like you’re the one ignoring facts
actually fuck it compiling less concrete gerard way gender moments just because i can now and we’ve got on this topic
theres literally no formatting to this sorry its just a big compilation of stuff i remembered
Keep reading

It is 1am and I am having. A LOT of feelings about the danger days era as an overarching concept.
Danger Days is, conceptually, mcrs best album- not because of the idea itself, but because of the context it exists in.
I'll explain it, I'm case you aren't aware: three cheers blew up, putting them in the spotlight, with a lot of pressure to deliver. Then Black parade hit, and it lived up to the expectations set and then some. They went from a band barely finding their footing, to being a total phenomenon within a couple of years. But as with all things that become very popular in a very short amount of time, they became a mockery. They were "just another emo boyband", a fad of the times, overhyped and overplayed to the point of hatred. Which meant that, while they had popularity, it put them in a box.
Black parade was so huge that almost everyone- including the band themselves- thought it was the end. Touring ended, and things went silent. No mentions of new music, no mentions of another tour, nothing.
Behind the scenes, conventional weapons had begun its creation. It was a rebellion against the image that had been assigned to them, stripping away all the theatrics and drama, aiming to be a simple, straightforward rock album. Which ended up becoming it's downfall.
Conventional weapons was never a bad album, it was simply the wrong one. It attempted to remove things that the band was built around, to gain respect from those that hated or dismissed them. But, after black parade, it was clear that it was lacking.
Danger days came completely out of left field, in terms of style, but was the truest they could've possibly been to their original intent. There was always an idea of subverting expectations, of being totally, unashamedly unique, and the past image wasn't cutting it. They hit the level of popularity that sparked a mainstream trend, when trends were the thing they always fought against. Danger Days was not a rebellion against society, like in their past albums, but a rebellion against themselves. And, by separating so clearly, comparisons between it and its predecessor could barely be drawn at all.
The bright colours were a fight against the darkness and the monochrome, the simplistic, upbeat synth-pop influence was a fight against the complexity and the theatrics- the black parade, truly, was dead. And danger days, even in its visuals, was a phoenix rising from the ashes.
A few years ago, I went to an anatomy conference and they had a huge 3D printed vampire skull, and these thoughts have been on my mind ever since I saw the teeth up-close.
The under-utilized potential for this bothers me a lot… like in movies… it’s just bite and done!
What happened to ritual shaving or elaborate skin engraving?
I know a lot of artists/writers follow me…. can you guys do Vampires a solid?
theyre on their way to a concert
surprisingly, this still remains probably the best and most concise explanation as to why the harry potter franchise didn't work and never could work in a satisfying way because of the author's limited perception of life and politics
