Please do not feed anything I ever create into an Algorithm.
Seriously, I'm fine with anyone seeing anything I make and making art. I would be honored that something I made inspired you, be it from anger, joy, sorrow, any emotion really, to create. Just please don't just feed it into an algorithm(Often called by the buzzword 'AI'). I recognize that other people may believe that algorithms can create artwork, but I don't really care. It is not art to me. Until we have created a true artificial intelligence, capable of a lived experience, it will never be art to me. I put myself into my writing. I put a lot, of myself into my writing. If you feed my work into an algorithm you're essentially taking a piece of me and shoving it into a blender. You're removing the context, the meaning behind the words, the emotions I have put into them. The thought process behind why I put them the way I did. Whatever errors I did, either through my own growth as a writer, or perhaps even errors made intentionally for some other purpose. It removes all of the art from it, and boils it down to simply patterns. No emotion, just data. No skill, just data. No art, just data. It says art is not something you think about, it is not something you make, it's not even something that can evoke feelings. It's nothing but patterns. Meaningless patterns. It hurts, and feels disgusting knowing that someone has scraped my work for the purpose of feeding into a machine, and to be frank it makes me want to stop sharing anything I make. Perhaps it is hubris to think anyone cares about my writing, but I care about it, and I share it because I want to share part of myself with the world. Edit: And yes, I know, just by asking this there will be people who because they have the emotional intelligence of five year olds, go 'Fuck you I'm gonna go do that'. All I can really say is I can't complain, without stating unequivocally to please not do that. If I say nothing, they can assume on their own part that since I didn't say no, clearly I'm ok. In this, I am being pro-active, and they are having to choose to disregard my wishes and feelings on the matter. So they have to grapple with and understand who and what they are, when they do such things. In short, if you have any respect for me as a human being, for anything I have created, you will not feed anything I've made into an algorithm that can be used for the purposes of 'generating' anything. If you cannot manage to meet this low bar, then I have no interest in you or your words. Please do not read my works, please do not interact with my works or me.
