As an ao3 Skulduggery Pleasant writer who hasn't written any straight ship (that I recall), I would suggest simply using the filter options! If you don't wanna read valduggery, select that relationship in the exclude section! Then you can filter from most kudos or most words (my go-tos) and find the awesome works people have written over the last eight years or so! This tends to work as decent quality control if you want to find the biggest/most popular fics in a fandom quickly.

I recommend purplejabberwock, AmaraqWolf as a go to. Vipertooth has some great (shorter and newer) stuff also!
