A matter with a capability and power to destroy with great intensity chose tranquility for us to feel the same way: that amidst all the boulders in life, we’re choosing not to rage up and wreck everything away like this ocean. Its beauty is spotless. An unconventional beach which instead of sand, there are rocks greeting the tides. I had been to numerous beaches but some of them feel dreadful. You will feel from the sand that this area had been exploited, over used, chemicals and household residues contaminate the beach — it feels depressing. However at this beach, all you can feel is tranquility and cleanliness, an untarnished gem which we have to maintain in pristine condition. Oceans are the biggest portion of our planet. These oceans contribute more in providing us oxygen than trees. They also absorb more heat and carbon because they’re larger than our atmosphere. Oceans are more bombarded by mankind’s impacts both in carbon emissions and in plastic pollution. More carbon worsens the acidity which harms the corals at a greater extent. Shall we keep doing this? This apathetic, unapologetic consumerism which harms our planet and pristine places like Sisiman bay? Do we really want to travel for hours only to get to places like this, and not to have it at our doorsteps? To be honest, we arrived to this beach at 10am but it was already too hot under the sun. We were only able to get out of the shade by past 4pm — see how much time we weren’t able to spend with the beautiful ocean because of the unbearable heat! Do we want WORSE?
