I am displaced in southern Gaza, while my wife and daughter remain in the north under constant bombardment. I live in constant fear for their lives, especially after losing my child before the war. Now, I am terrified of losing my wife and daughter as well, as the situation worsens every day.
While I care for my parents and siblings here in the south, my heart is with my wife and daughter. I cannot bear the thought of losing them too. Life in Gaza has become unbearable, and living under constant threat has filled our lives with fear and despair.
I am asking for help to secure a safe passage for my daughter, to save her from this harsh reality. Any support would be a chance for a new and safer life for all of us.

@gendernewtral holy shit what??
an update to my insulin pump (a model which is highly recommended by doctors because it has software you can update, unlike other models) would allow my doctor to see more of my medical data because of the way my pump would now function.
i technically had the choice not to update it, but if i didn’t, my insurance company would not cover the cost of fixing or replacing it if something happened to it. they could say that the damage came from not updating the system, even if the damage was completely external.
some of the software updates have been beneficial, and have made my life easier. however, the choice to use these new system has always been made for me. i can’t afford to replace this $3000 device that allows me to live without injecting insulin upwards of five times a day.
disabled people already live in a world that is hypermanaged by people who have absolute control over our health and safety. anyone with a prosthetic, hearing aid, or pacemaker can face the same problem i did if the manufacturer decides they need to exert their presence in our lives more than they already do. the “cyberpunk dystopia” is already here, and if you want to change the ever-growing vice grip of “smart technology,” help disabled activists. we’ve been here all along.
(if you want a short primer on what it’s like to be disabled and rely on technology, read Jillian Weise’s personal essay in Alice Wong’s Disability Visibility).
It would be just as effective as a full on strike, without risking their jobs in anti union states. Especially if they made public newspaper announcements that this is what they will ALL be doing.
This is called “Work-To-Rule” (a form of malicious compliance), and is a very useful and effective tool in labor organization!
My dad did this! He’s a high school teacher, and he and all his colleagues refused to write college recommendation letters - which was dozens of hours of unpaid labor not in their contract - until they got a renegotiated contract, and it worked in like less than a week cause parents went apeshit. The education system would fucking collapse without unpaid teacher labor, and that’s a huge source of leverage
I think people need to be more comfortable with illegalism and I’m not kidding. Of course the more legal something is, the safer and easier it is to do, but the more people who disregard the law, the harder it is to enforce. There are plenty of laws on the books that people just ignore and are never or rarely policed.
Becoming more comfortable with little illegal activities makes you more comfortable with bigger more important illegal activities. Additionally, it is crucial to build a wall of silence. Nobody talks everybody walks.
People who give out food without a permit, hold a march without a permit, grow a garden without a permit, are more likely to be people you could turn to to work with on preventing an eviction, or keeping people out of cop hands, or helping your friend Jane get crucial healthcare when it’s not legal in your state.
Communities comfortable with these acts won’t call the cops, and then nobody knows that it’s happening.
People have got to shift from both the idea that lawful = good/ illegal = bad, and that the illegality of something means that’s the end of it, and the only fight left is to make it legal again.
illegalism
laurae, a small Native farmer who built up her farm over the last five years, was served a 90-day eviction notice despite being promised by the landowner that she would be given a purchase agreement and the farm would never be sold to another person. Everything she has is in this farm - she’s put thousands of hours of work into it, built her cabin by hand, and invested every penny she’s made back into it. we are fighting to help her get the money to purchase her land before someone else buys it and kicks her - and us, her tenants who had no access to land without her help - off.
she ships her jams & honey, which you can buy here
you can also donate directly to the gofundme here
I know we’re all hurting right now and the world is fucked. but I love laurae and she’s done so much for all the people in her life. She has nowhere to go, no other options for a home, and no means to start over. she is a veteran, a survivor of multiple cancers, and close to fifty. all she wants is to live out her days on her farm till she hands it off to the next generation of farmers and I don’t want to see that simple thing taken away from her.
communicating something i thought was very obvious. Hoyoverse are Zionist benefactors.
- a benefactor is somebody who can pay money to support brands. If you pay a benefactor they can pay boycotted brands to compensate for monetary losses.
Hard to balance handling social media and people with 0 cares for your mental health but this is something that has to be confronted. Yeah, the CEO hasnt said they love Israel or anything, but I’ve gotten sick of them announcing collaborations with Zionists despite making billions of dollars that could save billions of people. And then twitter activists cheering them on. Never mind their pro colonization rhetoric found in two of their games. I digress.
not pictured:
I know SO MANY people love their games but lets be a little more guarding of where our money goes.
Maybe pick up fishing if you need some game to calm yourself. Go fish. Especially the invasive ones.
I… dont want to do that? I know what happened what good does it do
Very often lately i’ve been thinking of the james baldwin(?) quote (i can’t find it at the moment so i will summarize it) where he basically says that in order for white people to ally with black people that we need to think of black children as our children and iirc he didn’t think that could ever happen. When i see posts like this i think, do you not see your neighbor? Do you not see your aunt? Do you not see your teacher, your bus driver, your dentist, your friend, your peer, your equal? Why are you pushing their death tape onto others when the accounts of their murders are written out so people can know without seeing?
It’s odd to me that 1) this is the post that gets notes when I’ve seen multiple of my black mutuals express their complete disgust with the original posts and the sentiments shared within, as well as op’s extremely condescending response (maybe because I am not black and it’s easier for yall to stomach or something?) and 2) those same black mutuals and other black users are ON THIS POST agreeing with it, and there’s STILL white people arguing with me, saying I took the post out of context. What more do black people need to fucking do to get you to listen to them???? People in the notes have rightly brought up the way that people on the internet encourage others to watch videos and look at photos of palestinian people getting murdered—what good does this do? I don’t need to see the wound get made to know blood has been spilled! I LISTEN TO THEM!!!
The op of the post I screenshotted is saying that unless people watch this, they’re not going to even come close to understanding the depths of the depravity of police brutality. Uhhh, personally, when I hear that the police shot and killed someone PERIOD, let alone a schizophrenic black woman that wanted help, i’m perfectly aware that that was wrong. I don’t need to see this white cop murder a black woman. I don’t care how merciless he was how cold he was how inhuman he was—he killed her. I KNOW. What more could be gained from this? And you think WE, the people seeing your white weeb ass try to grandstand to grieving black people online, are the arbiters of truth?? You think we’re going to control the narrative?? You only know what happened BECAUSE THE NEWS ALREADY REPORTED IT.
Other people have also mentioned in the notes that white people’s activism is mostly self flagellation, then showing nonwhite people their bloody wounds, saying see? Aren’t i sorry? Have i made up for it? I watched a woman get murdered because i care so much, despite the fact black people have told me to stop sharing it, because i care, and they’re too stupi—i mean, emotionally involved to realize watching sonya massey die on video is A GOOD THING!
Fuck off!
Please be aware there was also a massacre with over 200 casualties in Sudan by the RSF.
Two massacres today.
