So a couple weeks ago I bit the bullet and finally sat down to try and figure out what @amethystfairy1's avian's lower limbs looked like in her Travelling Thieves Dark Fantasy AU.
It has evolved to this.
Inspiration taken from “I found love where it wasn’t supposed to be.” (The confrontation with the hunters).
Look, I know facile trope inversion is for weenies, but I still really want to see a JRPG-style game where the shouty teenage boy who gives long speeches about the power of friendship is the fragile healer and the girl with the gentle piano-and-strings theme song and self-sacrificing “must save everyone” attitude is the melee tank. I don’t think I’m being unreasonable here.
I’m not even being ironic – I honestly think it would work better that way. Like, let’s put power-of-friendship boy in a position where he actually needs to rely on his friends to get anything done, rather than just talking about how they’ve inspired him while he solos the final boss. And as for Little Miss Messiah Complex, well, tell me you can’t perfectly picture how the standard tank protagonist move where you intercept a blow meant for a critically wounded party member, facetank a fucktillion points of damage, then get back up again with one hit point and a voice quip about how the baddies will have to do better than that would play out under her idiom. You can see it, right?
People in the notes are looking at the second one saying “that’s just She-Ra, that’s just–” no, it isn’t. Gentle piano-and-strings theme song, remember? It’s essential that each archetype’s stock personality remain intact, and only the role changes.
She’s sweet. She’s humble. She wears homespun dresses and grows pretty flowers in her free time. She has that vibe that says “I’m going to die halfway through the game to make my boyfriend sad”, except that doesn’t happen, because the baddies don’t have a big enough gun.
I want to see the obligatory scene where the bad guy’s army is burning down her Beloved Peasant Village™, and she’s standing between the evil commander and a group of soulful orphans, begging with tears in her eyes for him to see that there’s already been enough death – except when he callously rejects her entreaties and moves to backhand her out of the way, she catches his armoured fist mid-swing, without even the faintest tremor of effort, and in a tone of infinite patience informs him: “You misunderstand, sir: it’s not our lives I’m pleading for.”
And then she punches people until all the soldiers run away and feels conflicted about it afterwards.

Jim asked in the most recent Livestream today how many hours cub actually put into the season 10 server.
And not gonna lie, that looks like a crazy amount.
So I'm tackling this problem by working backwards.
The server ran for 18 months. The absolute maximum time any hermit could have played is simply by never logging off the entire approx 548 days the server was live.
548 days x 24 hours = absolute maximum time on the server, 13152 hours.
1 minecraft day is 20 minutes. Therefore for every 1 hour that passes in real life, 3 go by in minecraft.
So the absolute maximum time that could be spent on server would be (in minecraft time) 13,152 real life hours × 3 minecraft days per hour = 39,456 minecraft days.
Cub has spent 173,860,205 somethings on the server and it cannot be minecraft days.
If we instead think this as the ticks spent on the server then...
1 minecraft day = 20 minutes = 24,00 ticks
173,860,205 ÷ 24,000 = 7,244 minecraft days spent (rounded down)
~7,244 minecraft days ÷ 3 (to convert to RL hours) = 2,415 hours total (rounded up)
AKA ~101 days of playtime.
Which is still a huge amount but much more plausible.

Biggest dilemma right now is that I want to double down both on Jimmy's old hair, and his old outfit. At the same time.
But both really don't make sense when put together.
I'm looking at how others are drawing this for inspo.
The design could be like: instead of a superhero outfit,
* White long sleeve shirt underneath and dark blue t-shirt on top.
* Skinny dark blue jeans,
* but maybe no belt -instead, a dark red jacket tied around the waist. Maaybe make the arms of the dark red jacket to have thin white stripes.
This is could be one way to organically translate his capt America outfit to fashion that id see back in 2011 (but im pretty sure ppl would still dress like this today).

It’s very ironic how Nero learned to accept his demon side and see it as something that gives him the strength to protect his loved ones from Dante, someone just like him who used his powers for good and was no less human despite being part demon.
Because we have Dante himself who still hates the fact that he’s part demon even though he accepted it, and said he hates going DT because he feels like he becomes something he isn’t. He still wanted to be as human as possible and only use his demon powers if he really has to (like against Vergil)
I think it’s worth noting another part of it was Nero having Kyrie to tell him he’s more human than anyone she knows even though he’s part demon, which is something Dante never had anyone say to him. Not that it would magically fix everything for him but I think it’s something he really needs to hear.
writing advice: never italicize words to show emphasis! if you’re writing well then the reader will know and you don’t need them!
