As long as I’ve been on this site, I honestly should have seen this coming a mile away and yet…
I was very honored to have the opportunity to create artwork as a guest artist for the “Shotaro Ishinomori CYBORG009 Exhibition.”
There will be exhibitions in Tokyo and other cities, so please be sure to come check them out. https://gallery.gaaat.com/pages/cyborg009?utm_source=x&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=cyborg009&utm_content=info_tk

Which will fade first? Memories of the Area 51 "raid", or memories of Internet Explorer?
Did you know that the max size a jpg image supports is 65,535×65,535 pixels?

I was part of a civilian group getting books to troops around 2003. One of the other men in the chat said that troops were asking for us to 'stop sending romance novels.' He was a bit sharp on the subject but right. One of the Karenish women went off on that. I was very calm on the subject. Said the one time I read a romance novel was on a mountaintop where I'd been for over a month and read every book there at least twice before opening up the romance novel. And I'd never read on since because I'd never been that desperate. But as soon as women got real power in publishing, they (by and large) stopped publishing for men then asked 'why don't men read?'
Someone i know claimed that when she really thought about it, the majority of romance novels either had 'choosing between multiple men', 'falling out of love', or straight-up cheating as their plots.
Which... i would say is NOT the kinda thing someone who is deployed away from their partner or spouse in a high stress situation would want to be reading.
For crying out loud, my Dad has been reading ever since I can remember. He likes history books and Westerns. I have been a lifelong reader. The issue is that because this has become so lopsided a bunch of the male authors kinda got muscled out or just denied the opportunity to really publish something if they didn't conform to whims of the powers that be.
Then you get just bad fiction made in response which is the actual "toxic masculinity".
TIL “Yankee Doodle” was written by the British to mock americans. “Doodle” is thought to come from the German “dödel”, meaning “fool” or “simpleton” and “macaroni,” a flamboyantly stylish type of dress, painting the Yankees as morons who thought placing a feather in one’s cap made them a “dandy.”
via reddit.com
so you’re telling me that “stuck a feather in his hat and called it macaroni” would be like saying “wrote a G on his belt and called it gucci”
that’s…a pretty good analogy actually
US moron came to town
Hunting for some coochie
Wrote a G up on his belt
And this bitch called it Gucci
Seeing my notifications get flooded with this every July 4th is the only thing I respect about America
