If Bones was not a show but the real world, Dr. Temperance Brennan could be the new President as of today
While watching the birthday episode, it felt like I was watching Emily instead of Brennan at some points. She really seemed to be enjoying herself and gave off a very relaxed vibe, especially in the car scene and the ending. It also was so good to see Ryan O'Neal again, I've really missed Max. I'm not looking forward to the obvious direction his storyline is going, but at the same time I can't wait for it because I love Brennan/Max scenes and I bet it's going to be a beautiful but very sad part of this last season.
Hit me like an explosion
âThatâs why I borrowed Hodginsâ laser-cutter. Itâs sort of old-school Star Wars, but itâs the best way to cut through plastic.â
Oh my God. Fox released pictures for episode 11x14 and now that certain section of the fandom is vowing to skip that episode because (They Assume) that Booth isnât in it or barely in it.
Save me from hysterical people who have the patience of a pissant. For Gods sake watch the show and quit jumping to conclusions.
This hysteria is getting old. Every year itâs the same. Booth or Brennan arenât in enough scenes. They donât love each other anymore. David or Emily are being sidelined. The chemistry is gone. Blah Blah Blah
David and Emily are in this until the end. Their chemistry as Booth and Brennan is still hot but tempered with sweet. That is what a loving adult relationship looks like.
David and Emily are producers and have a say about their characters. Theyâre fine with the story lines and no one is being sidelined.
Hey, if you hate the direction the show is taking please quit watching the show. Why torture yourself and those of us who love the show. Be an adult for once and move on to something else and let the rest of us fangirl / fanboy to our hearts content.
I realize Iâm going to lose followers for this but really the whining and threats are becoming unbearable.
Agreed. I saw some of those too. Just shaking my head in disbelief. Maybe someone should tell them that Yep, Hodgins got up out of his wheelchair and shot Booth so heâs no longer in the show, and then Brennan ran off with Aubrey andâŠ. Oh, wait - theyâd probably believe it! :)
I canât wait to see Brennan and Aubrey working a case together again! I really want to say something about those weirdly agressive people that have their opinions made up before actually seeing the episode, but I wonât because
Oh well, haters gonna hate. Iâm just going to enjoy every episode that we have left of this great ride called Bones until denial wonât help anymore and itâs really over.
Dr. Hodgins will watch his son grow up, thanks to you.

Brennan/Emily cut a chunk off her hair in season 6 and did the same in season 10, resulting in...
One of the general frustrations of some fans is that Brennan never wanted to get married or have kids, but eventually ends up with a ring on her finger and the pitter patter of now two pairs of little feet on the floor. Iâm not one of them. Someone can change their beliefs at any point in their lives because the path theyâve ended up on has brought them different insights, wishes and dreams than what they had thought years before.
I think Brennan was already changing her mind on those subjects years ago. After all, we saw in Boothâs coma dream that they were married and Brennan told Booth that she was pregnant, and who wrote what was influencing Boothâs dream?
Exactly.
Whether that was the plan all along (which I believe it was, since they clearly always wanted to get B&B together and wrote Booth to be the guy who wants to be married and have a familyâŠ), I donât really think of it as âchangeâ, more like Brennan becoming less scared to want those things again. Because in The Lady On The List, Brennan had those dream wedding dress from when she was 8 years old, telling us that at some point of her life, she wanted it. But after what happened with her parents and brother, she decided she doesnât want any of that because she was afraid to have it and then lose it, and hurt people. Thatâs basically the story theyâve been telling from day one, IMO. Itâs perfectly okay to genuinely not want to have kids or get married, of course. That being said, do I believe Brennan was one of those people? No, I donât. Sure, itâs a matter of interpretation but from the way Emily played her scenes, from her facial expressions, my interpretation is that she didnât say she doesnât want to have kids or get married because she genuinely didnât want it. From my POV, she found rational reasons why itâs better to not have either, but deep down she wished she could have it. And then came Booth, and Angela, and other people in her lab who became her family, and she re-united with her father and brother, and she had people people who cared for her and loved her, who stayed with her, with that came more stability, and slowly, she started trusting people and herself, and 11 years later, here we are, Brennan is married to Booth and they have two kids, and personally, I find that to be a 100% natural progression.
You can see Brennanâs very subtle evolution over time. With both marriage and kids. The changes were sometimes imperceptible. Thatâs what I love so much about this character though. Weâve been able to see how her experiences have shaped and changed her. But sheâs still the same person at the core. Some people genuinely do not want marriage and kids. And thatâs 100% more than okay. But Brennan was actually just terrified. She was scared to love again. Scared to be loved again. Because in her experience, those who love her leave her. She could survive on her own. So thatâs what she would do. But time and time again, Booth showed her that he wouldnât leave her. Not really. Maybe sometimes in physical proximity. But he would always be there for her. Likely her fierce opposition to marriage slowly started to crumble. Her personal reasons against love and commitment werenât holding up as well. By the time they get together, itâs completely believable and reflects where her character is at that time. All the experiences sheâs had leading up to that moment helped her get there. And even when they get togetherâsheâs still not completely sure of herself. It takes more love and reassurance. Time is the evidence here. I think itâs totally all within the realm of possibility for this character. Everyone changes over time. In different ways, but we all do. Brennan is completely thriving now. She has so much love to give and sheâs finally free to share it without fear of rejection or abandonment. I mean itâs not all perfect. But sheâs learned how to navigate the good and the bad. Sheâs still sensible, rational, logical. Still the genius Dr. Brennan. She still gets the utmost satisfaction from her work. But sheâs also living a life she dreamed about as a child. A dream that was stolen from her when she was 15. But a dream that friends and loved ones helped her rebuild again as an adult. Anyway, those who think itâs all not believableâŠI just donât get it.Â
She found her reason.Â
Thank you both for your responses, IÂ love talking about this subject because I definitely agree with you and I canât understand why people would say sheâs still the cold doctor she was in the beginning. And even then, she wasnât the cold doctor.
You are right, sheâs always wanted it and what has happened in her past made her decide not to want it during that time. I called it âchanging her mindâ because when she started to realise it was becoming a possibility again for her, she decided to put that wish/dream back on the table and eventually made it come true. Â
Maybe itâs a language barrier because English is not my native language, but your explanations are more subtle and explain my line better about how the path someoneâs on can bring different dreams than what they had thought years before (or in Brennanâs case, bring back wishes that were safely put away) , so thanks for that!

This episode will always be in my lists of favorite episodes/scenes/guest roles etc.
I love this bit. In the episode Brennan starts out old school cold, treating the girl as evidence and possible perp, but she makes a complete turn after she learns this is the actual victim and her story has similarities to her own. And thatâs when her loyalty, fierce fighting spirit and dedication kick in to make sure the truth gets out there, and that the girl gets the family and love that Brennan never got to have when she was that age.
Itâs Brennanâs chance to make right for this girl what has been done wrong to her when she was that little girl, to tell her what she would have wanted to hear all those years ago. And she takes that chance with her whole being.
I just love this bit between Emily and Ralph. And call me crazy, but I canât help thinking it wasnât Brennan but actually Emily interacting with her own baby. The way sheâs rubbing her bump as if to get a reaction and how Ralph suddenly looks at her (okay, he was an actor, but still) like he just felt a real kick. And then sheâs listening to Pops and looking at Booth, but itâs like sheâs off in a whole other world with just her and the baby while she keeps touching her bump. Not the best way to describe it probably, but thisâll have to do :)
So according to this app I use to keep track of my watched shows, the return date for Bones is March 25th my time, so March 24th US time. Has anyone heard anything about a date yet?
Iâve seen more people asking about this date but I believe this is their guess or a mistake because thatâs when S10 returned last spring and I highly doubt the app would have this yearâs real return date before sites like TV line/TV insider.
I use different apps on different devices and they use this date, but your TV Line/TV insider reason also went through my head which is why I thought I'd ask the fandom :) Thanks for your response and if this is not the real date, then let's hope FOX brings some light into this darkness called hiatus soon!
