okay, yeah, you probably wanted something more broad but i warped your request into something for one of my favorite fictional characters of all time! incidentally enough, i think you and she are really similar and i LOVE her so much and i also love you so yeah listen here and tracklist and some notes/rambles below:

(okay so at the very surface level akane is a girl with lots of love to give and a really strong moral compass that urges her to give it freely. she's brave despite her fears in a really scary world.)

(a large part of akane's character arc near the beginning half of the show is her relationship with kogami – her confusion with what he's about, her desire to help him out, and her growing understanding of how the sibyl system, the mother they all share, is pretty flawed)

(akane may not be as maverick-y and blatantly kickass as kogami is all the time, but when she rebels IT IS FREAKING COOL. she's way better at exposing the injustices of the sibyl system for what they are when she outsmarts them in the name of justice and ethics time and time again and she manages to do it all without ever openly breaking their rules. she's the prison queen yo)

4. A/B Machines – Sleigh Bells

(kinda going along with that last point, akane is the master of subtle defiance and craftiness. she's got her plan a on the table for the sibyl system to see, but she's got her backup plan b's in the drawer and is in no way being controlled by the system even when they believe she is)

(also, despite everybody marveling at how positive she is all the time and how it seems like everybody's wondering if she's just an idiot who doesn't understand the gravity of her situation or w/e she deals with a LOT on her plate and after kogami bails she has a lot of responsibility on her plate to shoulder alone. and she totally deals with it well.)

(so itd be really easy to blow akane off as an idealistic idiot but her idealism is so intentional on her part and i think thats the secret to her excellent mental health. she recognizes the danger and bad stuff in her world and her society but she decides to be positive anyway because why would she choose to be dark and unhappy? her choice to keep the sibyl system hidden is made because she knows that its something better left unknown for the good of society and she is satisfied with her solution and i love her for it so so much)

7.  The Valley – Eisley

(when kogami kills makishima in that crazy wheat valley place, akane stands in stark contrast to their intense black-and-white good-and-evil struggle because as much as kogami is our standard storybook incredible hero dude who vanquishes evil, akane is so much more realistic and rational and has a way more complicated grasp of right and wrong and justice and everything. kogami's justice is the more primitive "eye for an eye" type but akane calculates fairness and seeks the greatest peace for the greatest number of people and i feel like this difference was what bothered her so much about kogami becoming a murderer. i just picture her leaving that wheat field very emotionally drained.)

8. Now, Now – St. Vincent

(in the end, i think what makes akane such an interesting hero is that she was never makishima's chosen one or the most legendary investigator to ever be in the police force, and she fully embraces her own insignificance and OWNS it. she isn't afraid to get involved in kogami and makishima's weird obsessive dance and it is the virtue of her averageness that the sibyl system chooses to trust her and she twists that for as much as its worth while still remaining really humble and putting the lives of the people she can protect first while totally kicking butt and standing up for everybody in the process. she'll fight any injustice out there and win because she's awesome and unique and incredible and small and smart and incredible and she is my hero omg best character ever)

She’s 20, which means she’s almost ready to join... THE ADULT X-MEN PEOPLE GANG

Female and proudly so! Stands up for females everywhere!

Ability: 

Katie has what’s called “Eidetic Kinesthesia”. Once she’s seen a movement performed, she’s perfectly capable of performing it. This allows for her to be competent in a great many fields, including various martial arts, weaponry use, cooking, gymnastics, acrobatics, you name it - she can do it, granted she has somebody in person or on the television to learn from. 

Years at Xavier:

Let’s see, according to my records, the school was founded in 2008, so this will be Miss Mousser’s 5th year in attendance at our school. She’s been here a while, and exercised her influence over a great many of our students. ;)

Personality Analysis: 

Katie’s one of those people who’s so good at pretty much everything (piano, math, english, spanish,  art, fun) that you kind of want to hate her for it but the need to be friends with her outweighs that jealous urge. 

A lot of her competence is due to her gift, but she’s also just a really brilliant person. She’s a fast learner, even without eidetic muscle memory, and is quick to the draw with anything she’s taught. She picks up new skills with relative ease and there’s very very few things she hasn’t dabbled in (she’s even delved into things like film-making, acting, social justice, writing collaborative novels, being in a band, and criminal activities). Due to all of this, she’s really cool to be around because there’s always about a bazillion things to talk about, create, or do with her. (There are also rumors from the guys that she’s picked up some eidetic make-out skills ;) )

But like, she’s also super nice and one of the biggest team players out there, so she gets along super well with people and her company is in high demand. She doesn’t just GO OUT and have adventures and do things, she’s willing to bring you along even if you’re a lot less skillfull, and that’s what makes her both a really wonderful and mature human being and a true X-person. 

3 Noteworthy Possessions:

ukelele + guitar : did i mention she plays (at least) 3 instruments yet? all she has to do is watch somebody’s hands while they play a song and she can play it flawlessly SO COOL

intersectional feminism propoganda: yo, don’t be a bumflap to any sort of minority around her, or you WILL be educated (and maybe kicked in the bumflap, ya dingbat)

rings : she’s very sentimental about a number of rings because her relationships (friendship, family, and romance) mean a lot to her and she likes to commemorate and remember the special bonds she has with people. if you don’t think that’s the tightest thing, you can get out of my face. you’re expelled.

Interests & Hobbies:

OMG SERIOUSLY WHAT IS SHE NOT INTO 

- She’s got a super good eye, so she’s really good at art in general and has done graphic design professionally.

She’s really really smart and is thus into a lot of cool intelligent sociological, mathematical, and lingual crap that’ll blow y’alls minds. 

She’s got really good taste in fiction and is always available to obsess over the coolest characters and the hippest new plotlines. 

She’s really musical in that she makes good music (both intrumentally and vocally even if she DOESN’T THINK SO) and also has really good taste in music (ke$ha is catchy as anything, screw tha haters).

She’s really good at writing!!!! Recently she wrote a friend this thing about the Mauraders and it was the best thing ever and it’s going to be published. 

She has A+ taste in television and also friends

Usual Apparel:

Not only is she good at everything, but she LOOKS GOOD doing everything! Katie favors bright colors that are both fun and flirty and is such a lil cutie. Also she has the best hair ever.

Brief History: 

Katie was always a smarty-pants and she was always good at stuff. She used to think she was too cool to hang out with really cool people who asked her to hang out with them while she was reading books on the playground, but she soon got over that when she was sent to the Alps with a select group of children for what the Gilbert Public School system called “advanced placement” but was really a program to confirm the statuses of children suspected to be mutants at an early age. 

She bonded with the other young freaks there, but as she grew into her early teenage years, her bond with her parents was fraught. They were exceptionally proud to have a “gifted” daughter (though they did warn her of marrying other mutants as you never can trust that they’re all as good as she) but they were appalled to discover that she was using her gift for such nefarious purposes as being charming, falling in love, and holding hands with boys. They were ready to pull her out of school, and in an act of defiance, the young Katie pulled herself out of school first, watched every kung-fu and survival movie she could find, and set off into the great unknown – a runaway first and a mutant second. 

She wasn’t entirely sure where she was going, but a letter from an old friend had spoken of a really cool school for mutants, so she figured she’d look for that place. As fate would have it, she was found after only a week or so by an ambassador of the school who was out scouting for mutants, and taken into the academy. 

Her relationship with her parents mended as both she and they matured, but she was happy enough at her new home that she chose to stay and continue her training as part of the X-folk. Under the tutelage of the masters, she learned an incredible arsenal of combat moves as well as more humanistic, diplomatic skills. And under the wings of the older students, she made friends with all sorts: spunky twins, grumpy teens, a darling orphan, and an absolutely insane homeless man.

Now a student-teacher, it is under her tutelage that another generation of students continues to blossom, and on her watch that the world stays a safe place for humans and mutants alike.

And she is a Xavier dwarf.

Sometimes, late at night, when everybody else is asleep, I’ll wake up to the sound of your voice and look up from your chest to see your eyes full of stars, demanding the sky answer every one of your asanine late-night questions.

But after we kiss in the light of the moon, I’ll fall asleep and you’ll roll back over and for once, my water-tribe clown will be silent.

She’s my home-run girl and her fingers feel like home-spun silk twisted up with mine.  Yeah, I’ve been to every one of my sanctuaries, felt every haunting melody blow in and then out of, what I guess is, my soul. Every wandering butterfly has pressed its own sweet-pea peace into my eyelids with a fluttering kiss, but with her (who I still haven’t kissed once) it’s like the weird kind of safety you get when you see your demise in a thousand dark alien eyes but stare right into them anyway. 

I’m not scared, I’m the chosen one!

Okay, I’m actually really scared. But as long as I can feel her electric mind nestling up into the whorls of my own brain and can watch her eyes crinkle every time she nails a zombie, a cultist, or tiny UFO with that frying pan of hers, I know I’ll be okay. That’s why I can close my eyes and shed my skin – trade it in for scrap metal and one last swing-of-the-bat at, you know, saving the world.

It was probably the first time I ever made direct eye contact with my dad, and definitely the first time we shared a genuine smile. No mockery over wet-beds or anything either.  Being not-a-robot was already really great but having the previously Dr. Andonuts suddenly become Dad was probably the cheesiest ending to my adventure that I could have hoped for. 

Everybody else’s ending were pretty obnoxiously happy too. The world was saved, obviously. I guess Poo went back to Dalaam, much to the delight of the Dalaam(ese?) girls and nothing ever really phased that guy anyway, so life’s good for him. Ness and Paula are pretty much same as ever – totally in love but either too dumb (Ness) or too polite (Paula) to address it. 

And so life goes on.

in any case, let us continue with today's lecture. as you all know, i'm dr. ashley and today's lecture is part of the "awesome people everybody should know about" unit.

    as you can see on figure 1.135a/d (above), this specimen is in possession of a cerebral frontal lobe, just like us! however, while the average human being uses theirs to execute really poor decisions and get things wrong on tests, mandi uses hers to make really responsible and mature decisions and ace just about every test that she's faced with. despite its rather average mass, her cerebrum boasts a processing speed much faster than ours do and are rumored to have brainwaves powerful enough for telekinesis. 

    mandi puts the ossicles of her ear, incus, malleus, and stapes to good use listening to her friends' troubles as well as the best music around. while these bones are quite tiny, they're highly sensitive and mandi uses them to heighten her incredible powers of observation. 

    corneas in general gross me out ever since i infected mine BIG TIME as a kid, but mandi's got some of the prettiest eyes (and corneas) i ever did see! her clear vision and ability to see what matters in the present can probably be attributed to her not-disgustingly-infected corneas. 

    mandi's got a rather sophisticated orbicularis oris muscle, capable of producing beautiful melodies and brilliant jokes in the same breath. it does seem to come with its own vocabulary, but that adds to the charm! even more miraculous, it seems to be in almost a perpetual state of isometric contraction to produce a smile! how she does it, we may never know...

    her deep palmar artery arch keeps her hands well oxygenated and ready to mash away at wiimote controllers, wield chopsticks, bake delicious desserts, cook a wonderful meal, sew a fashionable outfit, or make any number of crafts! she's extraordinarily adept with her hands and it's amazing and incredible and life is just not fair for the rest of us

    her antecubital fossa is located in/of/around her elbow region, which is generally a good tool for keeping away rapists, jerks, and anybody mandi isn't fond of. mandi's assertive and pretty good at sticking up for herself and for her friends, so watch out for those elbows unless you wanna play nice!

    her rectus abdominis is kept in good working condition by how often mandi finds time to exercise in between her busy schedule! despite having more on her plate than many of us, mandi's always conscientious about keeping her body in tip-top shape, whether that means eating healthy snacks or running 10000000 miles in a single day. she deserves those abs.

    can we take a second to admire her super cute clothes? not only is her body fantastico, but she almost manages to adorn it with the most stylish of clothes, keeping up with the times while maintaining a very unique and definitive style. fashionista!

    mandi's patella might have been being a big fat jerko this week, but the rest of her body has been serving her well for a lifetime! i'm so glad that mandi's body functions in such an incredible way and i hope that it continues to do so for a very long time! she's pretty much the best and i love her.
