how handy! :) i was asking people at the market, and no one seemed to know lol.
Still doing good and feeling good. Made these two dishes and had them the day of my glucose tolerance test. Cauliflower fried rice was AMAZING! With chicken sausage and pork, veggies and egg. Amazing had tons of leftovers for the week. Great warm meal at work that doesn't feel too heavy. Also been loving caprese again lately. Making caprese paninis and just plain salad style. Been so good! Baby is kicking like a crazy person too loving the foods!
This mama rode her bike for 22 miles and 2.5 hours on Sunday! Amazing morning ride, had just a little bit of round ligament pain but otherwise it was amazing. My feet have hurt doing most other things so I think I'm going to be keeping this up!
Boy have I been busy busy busy. Caught my first salmon this week, 5 months pregnant. Lucky girl eating fresh caught salmon last 3 days in a row. I can not eat enough, starving. Made this amazing lunch spinach, Gorgonzola, pecans and some smoked/BBQ salmon on the side.
8.8.13 Happy Fridays Eve all! Really REALLY looking forward to the weekend. This momma is TIRED. Finally getting the chance to get to the gym this afternoon, I'm going no matter how I feel after work. This heat in the 80's does not help my motivation either. Thats alright, i will be thankful come January when I lose the baby weight and still have some muscle tone because I worked out regularly the whole pregnancy and didn't sit on my behind.
Delicious breakfast of english muffin, hard boiled egg and 2 egg whites, half an avocado and 1 slice of cheese. Going to eat up these english muffins then stick to whole wheat tortillas in the morning going forward.
8.7.13 Made an amazing stir fry dinner tonight with tons of veggies, chicken and brown rice. Delicious. At the same time started crock pot for tomorrows dinner of beef stew. Yum! Love dinner already done and ready to serve and clean eating all around.
I ended with way too many carbs today, and over on sugar again. My calories are always right on, probably because I focused on calories alone for so many years I just know. Had 1 small jimmy john sandwich for lunch provided by my work, no mayo or cheese. An english muffin for breakfast, and a hardboiled egg and apple in there and was hungry when i got home from work so had 6 triscuits, no wonder my carbs were over. I should have gone without the brown rice. Thats alright, its a work in progress and I feel that experimenting and finding the right foods and combos of macros for me while I'm pregnant is the perfect practice so when baby comes and I'm really able to focus on my diet and loosing the baby weight I will be so ready!
Yep definitely off track. Halfway through pregnancy now and I'm tired. I planned on going for a 22 mile bike ride yesterday after work but the 85 degree weather deterred me from that so instead I went home and cleaned the house, did laundry, changed the sheets and made a lovely dinner for bf and I. He got grilled chicken, broccoli and risotto. I wanted to use the ground turkey so made a turkey burger (yes with bun, bad bad I know don;t even need the bun the turkey burger was so good but it was in fridge and I figured I'd use it up) and a cup of sauteed broccoli. Delicious. Been craving black licorice lately so had some of that last night as well.My protein and fiber is still low, I think if I can really focus on getting more protein and fiber and always ALWAYS falling under sugar amounts I would be doing much better. Will be grocery shopping this weekend and premaking all meals so next week should be great.
8.5.13 - Definitely off track since vaca last weekend. Haven't had a chance to get to store and just need to use up whats in fridge before it goes bad. I have an awesome new shopping list of foods I am going to stick strictly to and will only buy foods off that list to alter dinners for bf and I know he won't be sticking to a clean diet with me and thats okay. Baby and I are determined though.
Started IIFYM yesterday but man it’s tough to get the correct percent of macros. I was WAY under for protein, and over for carbs. Makes me realize I’ve been eating way too much fruit and need to get more lean protein. An awesome wake up call. Made this amazing dinner last night, fresh caught sockeye salmon from MIL with a soy ginger glaze and a spinach salad. Yum!
Huge improvement in 3 days. Fiber and protein are higher and fat is lower all closer to the "zone" still need more fiber and more protein and less fat but I'm on my way. It can only get better. Going outta town for the next 3 days for a vaca with mom and sis before baby comes and won't be able to focus much on this but will make healthy choices and then back at it Monday.

Over everything except protein. Definitely can improve. I’ve got a better day planned today. And staying away from those sweets/all that fruit!
Day 1 -7.29 IIFYM definitely takes some getting use, will plan out my meals for next week well. Have been doing calculations and I see what I need to do. I made a blueberry pie before I decided to start this and been having that at night. Definitely not making any more of those! Need more protein!

Getting stuff done Saturday. Woke up at 5, was tough even though I was asleep by 9:30 kept really busy all day yesterday after work with gym, errands, juicing, etc. Worked today from 6-10 then fixed up bike and rode it across town for 50 min to pick up car. So happy to have my car back after 7 months!! Breakfast was a green juice, yoghurt parfait early this morning at work and then ate an egg and egg white with 1 slice of turkey for bike ride.
One of my favorite dishes, roasted curry cauliflower
Ingredients 1 head Cauliflower Salt Pepper Curry powder Olive Oil Cayenne powder
Directions Heat oven to 475 Cut up cauliflower place in large bowl drizzle with olive oil and add strong amounts of salt and pepper and curry powder Add a dash of cayenne powder Spread cauliflower on baking sheet, add a little more olive oil and place in oven Cook for 15 minutes, toss and cook another 15 min or until browned.
Made 6 different juices with everything from celery, ginger, kale, to mango, pineapple, blueberry, lemon and lime. Amazing. Filled jars up to the top so that there was no oxygen in them when they are sealed. I just need to drink them with in 2-3 days!
