eirikr: pretty much all monochrome, no adventure. outfit is very utilitarian, however, which i can respect; he also has ripped sleeves solely to flex about having muscles. this is an intentional pun. points for pirate vibes from the eyepatch. 2/10 there are more colors than burgundy out there

zawhei: button up is boring, though it admittedly doesn’t clash with tail color. lusus hoodie is adorable and i love it, even if she’s wearing it ironically. 5/10 all her points are from the crocodile cape

volour: finally, some good fucking fashion. i love everything about this!!! tasteful red/gold aesthetic, the cool different-sized buttons, the layers, the skirt shape, not to mention the COOL-ASS CAPE SHAPE. also shes wearing a BOW TIE it doesnt get better than this. 10000000/10 i want what she has

okarin: nobody knows who the fuck this dude is. why does he have a horse head thing but also horns. why does baby him have this from ectobiology. why are his shoes like that when horses only have one toe?????? psa horses are Not Even Toed! he does, however, have a cool coat i GUESS. 4/10, all the points are for the coat plus negative points for the shoes

peewee: also suffers from Only One Color syndrome like eirikr. points for cool trench coat and also because i want to give him a pep talk to boost his self esteem. i cannot give points for the cool hat and goggles because despap made those, unfortunately. 2.5/10 be more adventurous with colors

hagala: for this one, i must defer to @flameintheblacknight​:

despap: now THIS is power clashing. all the stuff has different patterns and colors but they pull it off so well!! the diamond skirt and purple shirt, plus having a blue scarf with a swirly rose pattern PLUS actual roses just somehow comes together so well. not to mention the confident STANCE. 10/10 they’re an icon

othala: an icon. one-sleeved purple dress with matching purple waist and hair ribbons, plus the funky gold laurel thing she has going on. all the colors go together plus she gets to hold a cool flag. 8/10 solid fashion.

And THIS is why lace was a worn primarily by royalty and aristocracy for so many centuries..  It was expensive and time-consuming to produce.  Wearing it, and wearing LOTS of it was a blatant show of wealth and excessive consumption.  

Mechanically-produced lace wasn’t really a thing until well into the 20th century, but there remains a wide gap between the quality of  mass-produced and hand crafted
