Shagbark hickory dropping its golden leaves after a freeze, 2020. It felt magical or like I was witnessing something from another time.

I have a question for the witches on here. So I’m getting a new necklace this week and I’m trying to find something to help me cleanse it. But I can’t find anything. How do you cleanse jewelry?
Generally either smoke or sound if running water isn't a good option.
Though holding it under the sink tap isn't considered very traditional, I've had items I've used in hostile work environments where I'd sometimes have to hold the thing under the restroom sink for a couple of minutes to clear things out.
Setting the item in a bowl that is surrounded with salt—pure rock salt is best, but table salt is fine—as well as some wedge/arrow shaped crystals with the points facing outwards from the bowl set in a sun pattern. The salt helps cleanse, the crystals channel the energy leaving the item outward and away. I recommend doing this outside, so as the energy doesn’t fester and settle somewhere else in your house.

This was in Sioux Falls South Dakota! The green sky is caused by large hail stones within the storm refracting back green light to the observer.

Need a custom Jar spell to fit your needs?
I’ll be writing some jar spells based on asks I get (I have a few sitting in my inbox and I’ve been waiting for some free time to write them up and format them on my computer, I’ve been on mobile only for a few days now) tomorrow, which will be my only totally free time that I’ll have for a whole week, because I’ll be moving on the 28th-29th and packing on the days leading up to it! So if you really need a jar spell, for you or someone else (there is a difference — please specify!) Then send me an ask. Remember to check my about page, because there are certain magick types I stay clear of. All of tomorrow I will be writing these and then adding them to my queue so my blog has at least one new spell every day. Thank you!!

Hello! I've read your last post on Shinto and I found it interesting. I'm half Japanese, born and raised on a latin country. If it's not asking too much of you, would you please elaborate on this part a bit? "Western witchcraft is inherently contradictory to Shinto." I am not interested in Shinto at all (so don't worry, I really won't appropriate anything), I'm just really curious about why Shinto is contradictory to witchcraft. Thanks!
Disclaimer: as my post said, I myself am not Japanese and the following is just repeated from what I’ve read from Japanese sources.
Western witchcraft is about control and manipulation. That isn’t a bad thing, it’s just how mysticism developed in many European cultures. Witchcraft is centered around controlling and manipulating the world and the energies around you with the intention of changing things for your own purposes. Religious witchcraft often views relationships with spirits and deities as business-like; you give a deity x (usually worship and offerings) and in exchange, that deity gives you y (usually power and sway over something).
Shinto (and the vast majority of non-European belief systems including my own culture’s) is instead focused on understanding and respecting the world around you, learning to live with the natural forces and energies instead of fighting against them. Work with spirits and deities is centered around genuine respect, a kindness shown with no expectation of a reward for that kindness and respect. Shinto is about being part of nature and living as part of nature. Even 陰陽道, which people frequently refer to as “Shinto witchcraft” or “Japanese witchcraft”, is actually 100% based in science and math used in a mystical sense to divine information, not to change or control things.
Western witchcraft is carving a pathway through a mountain. Shinto, and indigenous spirituality and mysticism in general, is using your knowledge of the world around you to instead find an existing pathway through the mountains.
Hope this was able to help anon, and if any Japanese people have corrections, please let me know!
Omg the mountain analogy is just genius! Beautifully said

can anyone confirm that trump has witches working for/protecting him or is it just another urban legend
Yes, there are unfortunately pro-Trump witches out there who are specifically protecting him and actively trying to stop BLM and "political correctness." They even have a tag on Twitter and Instagram called WitchesForTrump.
Example: https://twitter.com/music_pals/status/1269805847380733955?s=19
I know at least one proTrump witch and it’s always perplexed me. (I’m not in communication with her and she blocked me on Facebook ages ago. But I do know she exists.)
Decolonize Witchcraft and Spirituality!
That means:
Respect closed practices! Either go through the proper channels to be initiated or leave them alone!
Respect indigenous and diasporic cultural traditions! Many of these cultures were nearly wiped out by colonization. Respect the boundaries of what you can and can’t practice as an outsider.
Purchase crystals from reputable sources! Some crystals are mined unethically and through minimally-paid or slave labor.
Stop supporting shops and authors who appropriate from closed cultures! It should be obvious, but don’t buy dreamcatchers from a non-Native person and avoid metaphysical authors who perpetuate racist stereotypes about marginalized religions and magical traditions.
Listen to and prioritize witches of color/practitioners of color in dialogues about racism, cultural appropriation, and exotification in the magical communities.
Examine your own craft and see if you are unintentionally appropriating any cultures
Educate yourself on practices outside of your own so you don’t unintentionally invalidate or appropriation marginalized religions and spiritual practices.
Two sigils for blm protests and those affected or scared or whatever you may use these for. Charge how you like, there's no rules, though the UNITE one would do good on the bottom of a shoe at a march.
