reached some more plot in Warframe and made some images to commemorate
Trying to draw anything vaguely humanoid ends in disaster rn so I pivoted to horse
[click for higher quality/less blurry!]
playing around with my combo count Kullervo......
I don't actually need as much armor as he has, lol, so I swapped Carnis Carapace for Umbral Intensify, as well as Equilibrium for Streamline
using Rauta gets combo count up really fast, and Primary Bulwark get its damage up nicely via armor (you could also use Primary Merciless and get that extra combo duration, but at this point you really don't need it). so Rauta is perfectly serviceable for melee-centered playstyle. still needs another round of forma'ing or two to get status chance up to make it a better primer
with Rauta, you don't need Storm of Ukko to build up faster combo count, so I'm considering whether I want to subsume a utility-minded ability over it. I don't really care for subsuming that much, because it takes the fun out of learning to Get Good with a particular warframe, but I'm considering it in this case because without Ukko you have to rely on something that people don't consider Good lmao (Rauta)
I would like to swap one of the blue archon shards with a crimson shard for ability strength, but uh. I need more archon shards. and also credits/endo + another round of forma'ing to max out Umbral Intensify..... (cries in always being credit and endo poor)
possibly want to forma over the aura slot for more variety and options.... (cries some more)
Tipedo Prime is just fun. not the Fastest or Best melee weapon, but more than fast enough and very solid because it has better base stats for crits and range than all except a few cool gnarly weapons that I have yet to acquire. staves also feel good as fuck to use. needs another forma to swap in Primed Pressure Point, but, you know.... (cries)
have almost fully maxed Unairu, and Cogron yoinks the armor and energy synergy from Arcane Battery right back up. plus, with Gladiator set + Melee Animosity + general combo count synergy, you don't need to rely on Wrathful Advance as much, except for when you really need to send somebody to the Void with extreme prejudice. the most important ability becomes Recompense for not dying in two hits to a sufficiently powerful enemy
so I'm pondering good ways to shave down energy + armor some more to make room for other types of silly configurations. I will NOT look up advice because doing things the hard way is fun for me. it's enrichment
I also have not put any time into figuring out frame + companion synergy yet, so who knows. maybe I'll get this guy a hunting dog
when Kullervo Prime drops I will be spending money on that and I will be crying about having to do half of this all over again, but c'est la vie!
@janusfnc14 I have a lot of thoughts about this re: Albrecht and Wally, and the post you reblogged. But this got stupid long, so into its own post it goes.
I feel like Warframe is making a case against the idea of ontological evil, and it's crucial for both Albrecht and Wally as characters. Which is why concepts like angels and demons are inverted - Tenno are often referred to as demons, while things like angels and archons are terrifying enemies and manifestations of rage and trauma. "Good" and "evil" and morality are entirely human concepts and affairs. If they exist, it is only because of what humans do.
This is evident in both the Infestation and the Indifference. They are antagonistic factions, but in a metatextual, thematic sense. They aren't "evil" or antagonistic because of what they do, but because they are a reflection of the world and of humanity. From a writing perspective, they are forces of nature, not characters or people, and their purpose is to hold a mirror up to everything else.
The Infestation is what it is simply because of what it is, beyond human notions of morality, like any pathogen. A virus or bacterium isn't evil because a human gets sick, regardless of any manmade factors that contributed to the illness. Most of the horror of the Infested results from what humans do with it. Even then, we see that the Infestation is still responsive to gentler influences, in its own way.
The Indifference comes from the Void, and the Void reflects what is put into it. And what has been put into the Void is centuries of absolutely wretched human evil.
put together a song on the Mandachord loosely based on the Corpus ship music (Brainwashed From Birth). not optimized for damage, just wanted it to feel smooth/non-frantic while matching movement to beat. melody on every fourth beat seems to be a sweet spot for me
here it is on Mandascore as well
It's time for Vice Regent Grand Carnus Roathe posting!!!
I'm back from TennoCon and my heart feels warm & cozy, I love this community so much
I have so many photos to share
This is my only warning

dating sim minigame is nice and all but the real monsterfucking potential in Warframe is here
If Wally was romanceable, would you date it?
Yes
No
Maybe
accidentally didn't extract on like wave 16 of defense when everyone else did and was like "uh oh," but man, if the objective is in a reasonably defensive position, Jade really doesn't give a fuck, huh
also: tech powered by literal flesh is a shorthand for moral depravity in science fiction. the warframes are the main example of this, obviously. and, uh
so it would go something like:
the Orokin use The Fingers to build and expand their empire even further.
I am seriously wondering if The Fingers were used in the initial construction of the Sentients. they almost certainly get their sentience direct-from-Void in a manner similar to Void constructs, and maybe that's because of how they were made. because Wally's body language with baby Lotus/Natah is crazy. like that's THEIR baby.
the Orokin construct the warframes to fight the Sentients.
and the Sentients construct their cities in the same manner, civilization built from biomechanical flesh, and the nasty little wheel of violence and exploitation continues to turn.
For a (currently near-unambiguously) Benevolent example of Orokin Flesh-as-tech, we also have The Unum. Who is literally made of Flesh, and re: this Concept Art of a Bridge leading to her, Bone and Marble.
Both her and Cetus may act as a way for people to reclaim and repurpose Morally Questionable Technology to uplift and reclaim autonomy, which is firting considering the Ostron are foxused around recycling and reusing things and finding new purposes for it.
Whoever the Unum was, however she was made, she’s currently in a harmonious reciprocal relationship with her follower-merchants.
God I love this concept art
They have an entire Trade where they harvest and consume her Flesh- and she tells them specifically where to acquire it.
Not to mention how she grants the Quills (a Monastic order who serves her) Future-sight, rarely and Selectively doles out Prophecies like an Oracle, and tacitly approves of Koumei’s own more regular, small-scale dispensation of Prophecies to the Commonfolk via Dice-rolls.
The Sentients gave her a hell of a battering, but she’s still standing tall.
..Really hope we see more of her.
every time I tweak how they look I keep saying this on repeat in my head
The Lotus in The Old Peace (please don't repost my gifs or claim as your own)
