I get the urge to draw Bro Strider as shitty as humanly possible, but I can't help but think of how Dave needs to be broken out of his illusion and see that his brother is abusive and typically that kind of stuff happens when the parent and child have a lot of genuine good times and the good times fool the child into thinking the bad times aren't actually that bad.

It's more interesting to me if Bro Strider was genuinely trying his best but is just not at all suited for caring for a child (plus the puppet mind control). We look at Dirk and he admits he has no interest in children and solving social problems is very hard for him.

This could be a chance to explore how being Neurodivergent the way Dirk seems to be ties into how effective of a parent someone can be, and what unique challenges that presents when it comes a child's emotional needs. One of Dave's complaints is that his brother seems like a robot, but when we see Dirk, we see that's just how he is. He's very monotone and flat in the face, robotic, almost.

Not only this, but we can SEE in the apartment and when we're exploring Bro's things with Dave that Bro Strider absolutely adores Dave. He gives him the only bedroom and takes a shitty futon. He saves every comic he's ever drawn and quotes them back to Dave. This doesn't excuse that his behavior was wildly off of the rails and he went way too hard trying to prepare Dave for the game + forgetting basic shit resulting in neglect.

But I think stories like the Strider and Lalondes' are far more interesting if you don't view abusers as just a black and white evil and that's it. This is the chance as the reader to dissect the reasoning behind how and why someone winds up in the abuser role. These are things we should take the chance as a silent observer to think about imo

I definitely think Roxas tops, he's a bit more assertive/ dominant and I also see him being a bit of a control freak so he'd want to be in charge of everything whereas Sora is more laid back and willing to just go with the flow (also self projection but I see Sora as ftm)

But outside of intimacy Sora is definitely more bold, he's much more outgoing than Roxas, he's much more willing to say whatever comes to mind, sometimes Sora's inability to shut his mouth embarrasses Roxas, but Roxas is definitely more protective he's just quiet about it, they're both very protective over each other but Roxas is more aggressive about it, and has fears of losing people close to him so he would keep Sora very close

Their first time is definitely very slow and loving, they don't feel the need to rush it since they have such a strong bond, they definitely go on chill dates, lots and lots of ice cream dates but I think they also like to stay in a lot as well, they probably don't fight very often but if they were to it would probably be instigated due to their different personalities and Sora's lack of emotional intelligence in comparison to Roxas, there may be times where Roxas doesn't feel properly seen/ heard because Sora is so content on enjoying the moment and focusing on the good things where Roxas would be the one to initiate deep emotional conversations
