This is why I will never idolize celebrities, because you truly don't know what's going on in their actual personal lives, but all the same I think there's a lesson to be learned here about celebrity politics.

You mention in another post, fairly, that there's no confirmation that Hugh Dancy or his wife were involved in anything illicit but we just "don't know", which, again, is very true. Nobody should avoid scrutiny.

However, I think it's also fair to realize that in celebrity social circles, when you're rubbing elbows with the rich and famous, it's inevitable for someone to be invited to an event hosted by Epstein, and sometimes for your position it's considered polite or a good social move to attend.

You also make the point that at that time, Epstein was already known for his criminal activity, and I'm not justifying celebrities attending even his innocent parties with the knowledge of this, but ultimately (for celebrities) it's a part of the career. Not saying it's right, but if celebrities weeded out who they did and didn't socialize with based on how good that person is, honestly, hollywood would fall apart.

Bottom line is, I personally don't believe in penalizing someone for merely attending an event hosted by Epstein (the innocent ones, obviously) because in that kind of business, you sometimes HAVE to interact with people that you know are awful.

Another bottom line is, I will never trust celebrities in general for this very reason lol
