Morena Theory

I know many of us have been trying to inject our beloved Mama Dekarios into our stories with nothing but our head cannons to guide us, but I had a thought about what she may look like.

First of all, the name Morena in Spanish and Italian means "brown-haired," "dark-skinned," or even "brown". (source: The Bump).

Assuming she is human, the most likely human variant she would be Calishite (or at least have a good portion of it in her DNA).

This would also explain the line of dialogue Gale has if you let him disable the shadow magic in Balthazar's: "Not bad for a wizard who slept through his Calishite lessons, eh?"

Not only b/c bored gifted kid in a class he doesn't wanna be in, but also b/c Morena possibly spoke in her native tongue at home so he already knew it.

Now, I know many of us ADORE the 'Gale is Greek-adjacent' theory (I know I do lol) but we also know nothing about his father so... *shrug*.

If I'm right (whatever that's worth anyway,) this would be such a fun way for Larian to tell us a little about Morena without us actually seeing her, and creating another element of potential HC worldbuilding.

I'd honestly love to hear what y'all think, but this little spark that started with her name just made me giddy I guess idk lol.
