Here is the finished crystal it took about two weeks for it to finally look like this! After about 24 hours i thought that the crystals weren't really working so i left i and forgot about it. But after a while the got bigger and bigger to finally look like this!

CRYSTALS!

I used my science kit that I got given for Xmas one year to make coloured crystals...Here's what's in them and how to make them:

The crystal starter is Monoammonium Phosphate, it looks like salt. 

It's important not to touch the Monoammonium Phosphate - so use gloves and googles to protect your eyes.

1. You put 20mls of warm water into a beaker, then you add one level teaspoon full of the salt crystals. 

2. Stir the solution until the crystals disappear, and then keep adding half a teaspoon at a time while stirring, until no more will dissolve. Now you have a 'saturated solution'.

3. You carefully tip half of the solution into a dish, keeping any undissolved crystals aside. Get one undissolved crystal 'seed' from the Monoammonium Phosphate jar, and leave overnight.

Within 24 hours, the crystals start forming in the solution, and in the morning you have some little crystals...the longer you leave the mixture, the bigger the crystals will get.

My kit came with blue and yellow dye, which you can use to colour the crystal solution with a few drops before you start growing them.

GOOOO!! 

I made goo today all you need is cornflour (cornstarch) water and food colouring (optional). A bowl and a measuring cup.

1. First put 2 cups of cornflour in a bowl. Measure out 1 cup of water.

2. Pour a couple of drops of food colouring into the water.

3. Now pour the some of the water (not all) into the cornflour and mix it around. If it is to hard to mix a a tiny bit more water.

4. Once the mixture is smooth and has no lumps try poking the mixture really hard and you will notice that it feels hard but if you leave your finger there it will sink into the mixture.

So...why does the goo act like both a liquid and a solid?

"Our cornstarch goo (sometimes referred to as “oobleck” from the Dr. Suess book) is what scientists call a “Non-Newtonian” liquid. 

Basically, Sir Issac Newton stated individual liquids flow at consistent, predictable rates. As you likely discovered, cornstarch goo does NOT follow those rules – it can act almost like a solid, and them flow like a liquid. Technically speaking, the goo is a SUSPENSION, meaning that the grains of starch are not dissolved, they are just suspended and spread out in the water. 

If you let the goo sit for an while, the cornstarch would settle to the bottom of the bowl. So why does this concoction act the way it does? 

Most of it has to do with pressure. The size, shape, and makeup of the cornstarch grains causes the cornstarch to “lock-up” and hold its shape when pressure is applied to it.
