I sure like God an awful lot and I always felt like I was supposed to be a preacher man. I ain't got no fancy preaching degree, but I can write stuff.

Judy asked a good question about prayer

We bless our food before we have breakfast or lunch or supper in my home. Judy asked me a question about prayer yesterday that I don't got the answer to, to be down right honest about it.

She asked why we have to pray before every meal.

"Well," I says, "we don't wanna go eating no food that ain't been blessed and made clean by the Lord." I figured that'd settle it, seems straightforward enough. But darn it, that Judy's a bright girl. Maybe a little too clever even, but that's a whole other story. She asked about a super prayer. I never heard of that either. Turns out she made it up, but it seems like it might be possible.

What it is is a prayer that you say to cover everything. Like just say one prayer asking the Lord to bless everything you'll ever eat in your whole life. Don't that kind of make a little sense? I mean, it sounds like Judy might be on to something. Seems like maybe I can just pray today for the Lord to protect Judy and watch over her for life, to protect us every time we hop in the Ford, bless ever meal and snack we'll ever eat, and to always nudge us in the right direction for our whole lifes. Seems like any prayer covering the same thing after that would just be wasting the good Lord's time. Sort of like asking for the same thing over and over again. Judy does that to me, and it irks me something awful. 

So now I'm wondering if I can say a super prayer for certain things and never have to pray for it again, and if I do happen to pray for it again, will I be irking the Lord and getting on His nerves?

Something that bugs me

Why do Christians use parts of the Old Testament to make their points of bad things? Isn’t the Old Testament the Jewish part? Seems odd to me.

The Bible is the Bible, friend. Old Testament is just what we call the part that was before Christ, but it's still part of God's Word. Even the parts our childish understanding (compared to the Lord!) tells us is bad sounding. Old and New are just part of the One Word of God.

Be careful, brother in Christ! In this day and age, the hypocrites who happen to be our politicians, in their attempt to bribe us of our votes by pretending to love God and Jesus, have made it common practice to blindly pray in ways that are against God's will for our praying.

Always remember the very important words found in Mathew 6. Just go open your Bible and start reading from verse one forward. That's Mathew, chapter six. Prayer is a private act between you and God himself. That ain't saying that people can't pray together, cause they can. I do it and even done it on the internet. But there's praying together, and then there's saying yoru personal prayer for the world to see.

The Bible is super clear on that, brother. It ain't God's way. That's why I always felt so sorry for those poor kids who try to pray at school things, like ball games and dances and things. It's totally against God's Word.

As a firm believer in the lord I find it rather disgusting you are using evil products such as technology, all of which were, in the majority, created by non believers. All of these devices are turning God fearing followers away from God. It spreads ideas and doubt. The best thing to do is to boycott the products. Avoid temptation.

That technology is being used as a weapon against God is all the more reason to use it as a tool to keep the Lord's Word exposed to people who would otherwise be left alone to the wolves. As far as most advances in things like technology or even science for that matter, the vast majority came from people who believe. Even most anti-god sources will admit that. You must have come across some sort of contaminated info or something. I don't know. Keep the faith, anonymous brother or sister in the Lord. Stay strong, don't be afraid to use computers to fight the good fight. And radios if you can get on the radio.

Are you named after Thomas Edison perchance, Mr. Hickey?

I am. And I know exactly what he thought about Jesus and the Bible. Edison is a name that's been gave to a lot of boys in my family. I am blood related to Thomas Edison. He was a big deal to my family. My sister has a wood block with 3 holds in it that supports 3 bulbs owned by Thomas Edison himself. I got a desk that was once his. Judy stained it and a cat clawed it, but it's what I'm using right now with this computer. My pawpaw (that's what I call my grandpa) donated some letters wrote by Thomas Edison to some museum once, back before I was born. Strange and unlikely story, I know it. But it's true, and there it is.

But none of that is what this here thing I'm doing on the internet is about, so that's not really my thing.

Just because I figure you'd be interested, my pawpaw's daddy told him that Thomas Edison wasn't all that everybody made him out to be. I know we made him some kind of big shot, but he weren't. He mostly changed what someone else done, and he hired people to come up with inventions for him. Kind of like a big computer company hiring smart people to invent computer things, then the company gets the credit. Know what I mean? My pawpaw's daddy worked as one of those people and Thomas Edison had newspapers from all over brought in, and my pawpaw's daddy would go through those papers and circle things that got mentioned in other countries, and Thomas Edison would invent it all over again right here in the US and take all the glory. There's something that you won't ever hear about in school, tv, news, or anywhere. I guess it's a family secret, but it don't matter none. No one would believe anything like that about such a giant person in American history.

I Won the Toaster!!

Thanks ya'll who helped petition the Lord for me on this great and wonderful day. I'm pleased to say that once again Jesus revealed himself through the miracle of prayer! I won the toaster! It's the best toaster I ever did have, and I can't wait to get using it. For now I'll stick it in the shed with my other extra toasters, but once my sister gets here in a few weeks I'll give her the one in my kitchen and get this slick fancy new toaster with four slots out and put it to some good use!

The Lord is good. God is good, I tell ya.

Thanks again for all your praying and other good things some of you said to me in message. No thank you to the ones who said bad and mean things. The Lord knows who you are.

Pull the Plug On Atheists

I tell you what, it's like I don't even need to go outside no more just to find the Lord's work. I'm so glad I got back on the internet. Thank you Jesus for putting in the heart of my dear neighbor to give me their old computer, amen! I found this website called google, you just go to google.com and it's right there. You can search for almost anything on it. Of course the devil is doing his work in there, too. But guess what? So is the good Lord. I found this here picture when I typed in atheists.

OK thank you so much. I sure breaks my heart to know I been doing this all these years. I know I read the whole Bible, but mostly the OT stuff I read when I was a teenager. I must've forgot some stuff. I been so focused on Jesus so much the last ten years or so that I sometimes neglect certain parts in the OT. But it's part of God's Word, too. And I know I do heed a lot of what's in the OT, but some of it I guess I forgot it was there. Thank you for helping me walk the right path and for showing me the way to the Lord's expectations. I have prayed for forgiveness for all the bacon and sinning I done cause of bacon, and throwed what was left away.

Mr. Hickey, you failed to answer my question. Why are you religious? Or, to use your words, why do you choose to have a relationship with Jesus?

I will try to answer a differrent way. I don't feel myself as religious. I have a relationship with God, and God has expectations of me. Just the way I have expectations of my Judy and the way I used to with Judy's momma. I loved her momma and I love Judy, but Judy still has to obey rules in order to avoid the rod. She's a good girl and I only had to spank her maybe five or six times her whole life. Mostly she can just get grounded or I tell her she can't do something for a while. The times she got spanked was for things that were super bad, like when she goofed around and got the neighbor's boy killed in his grandpa's barn. Had to spank her right good for that, because it was her fault. Judy don't feel no religion with me. She has a relationship with her daddy. I feel that way about God and Jesus. It ain't no religion, it's a relationship and way of life. It's Truth.  I fit the word religious because your understanding of the word religious fits me. In other words, you see me as religious because you have declared me, in your mind, as religious.

There are people starving down the street from my house, and you want me to waste my prayers on you and your almost-won toaster that you did next to nothing in order to earn? I hope that your God listens to the words of the poor and sends your toaster prayer into the "crap" pile.

I want you to grab some food out of your kitchen and feed the people down the street. After that, if it is in your heart to do so, say a little prayer that God will find favor with my desire for a new toaster. It's a real good toaster and I ain't ever had one that looks so fancy. It has four slots on it.

Prayer request, I need your prayers

Hi ya'll. A grocery store nearby is having this drawing for a toaster. They been taking tickets all month and later today is the drawing. I been going in there every day and putting in tickets, sometimes as much as three times in one whole day. I really want that toaster real bad, and I just feel in my heart that I'm going to get it.

But there's a awful lot of other folks who been putting in tickets too, and I want everyone to pray to the Lord for Him to find favor in me.

It's a real good job of a toaster. The thing has four slots and they're real wide like so if you want to make bagels. I don't eat bagels, a little too French for my liking. Or maybe it's English, I don't know, but I'm American, so I just stick to toast, eggs, and four strips of bacon for my breakfast. Sometimes I heat up some greens to eat with my toast. Judy says it's yucky, but I've always had a taste for some greens on buttered toast.

So please just pray for me to win that toaster drawing tomorrow. They'll be doing it around 6:00 PM my time, so be sure to pray before then. Thank you and bless  you.

You enemies of Christ like doing stuff like this. You know why that picture even exists of that skinny kid? Because somebody done flew over there to feed him, and they went and took some pictures while they were at it so they can show them to everyone around, make them feel sad and guilty, and get more money donated.

That starved kid can thank Jesus for sending some people over on a plane with cameras and food to feed his hungry self.  Hopefully the poor fella is bigger now and doing a lot more good than he was then, God willing.

If God exists and is benevolent, omniscient, and omnipotent, the starving child wouldn’t exist in the first place. Thus, if he does exist, he must instead be either indifferent or malevolent. 

What kind of God says “suffer until I hopefully send some Americans your way. Aren’t you so glad I blessed them and not you?“… A lousy God. A non-existent God.

Innocent children die daily at the hands of your false god.

See there, you said children die at the hands of my god. You claim He is false in the same sentence. You can't affirm Him, then deny Him. Children suffer and starve for the same reason I growd up hungry right here in AMERICA. Know what? No one came and brought me food. No cameras came. Goverment said my daddy made too much to get help from taxes. Didn't give a damn that most of our money went to keeping my momma alive.

The reason is life is hard. Life ain't fair. God ain't here to make it easy for us. God ain't here to make it all better (not yet). God is here to create us, watch us, help us when it fits His will--a will that is far more complicated and grand than any of us could ever imagine--and to judge us in the end.

What is a day of pain, hunger, being cold, getting rained on compared to eternity? What is a pathetic 80 year life of hardship compared to eternity? You think that boy, should he get to heaven, gonna give a rat's turd about being hungry when he was mortal in a hundred billion years?

He gave us the chance to have pain free lives. We turned it down. Don't go blaming the Lord because of our short comings.

COuld somebody please tell me where bacon is a sin. Please, I eat bacon almost every morning. I usually eat four strips, sometimes three. I been doing this most my life and nobody told me anything about it. I notice there ain't no verse on that one, is that a fake sign? Somebody please help me find the verse. Onced I found out the truth I'll know if I should stop eating it or not.

This is a real good pictures. It really demonstrates Jesus's love for us and how he's there for us and suffers for us, even when we bring it upon ourselves. Every time you go out and hurt yourself, Jesus is right there suffering with you. Every time you go out and get high and do drugs, Jesus is right there doing it with you. Your body is a temple, and belongs to God. People need to learn that. This pictures very accurately describes that.
