An ancient Roman soothsayer would be frothing at the mouth at this.

How does the MBTA clear snow off of the tracks?
Jet engine
Yall.
I’m disappointed.
I gave you a gizmo. An absolute contraption. A doohickey even. You asked how the MBTA removes snow from its tracks and instead of getting a normal answer like “plow” or “salt” I give you a fucking jet engine bolted to a rail car like I’m looney fucking tunes and you have the gall to give it only 22 notes.
This one has a fucking sneefer
Are you happy now????
There is also this guy who is named Russel

Unfortunately, IC 1805 only *sort of* resembles a heart:

Tasmania’s enigmatic Eastern quoll (Dasyurus viverrinus) is an outsized predator whose bite strength is amongst the strongest on earth. They also glow sometimes.
I believe this is the first biofluorescence documented in the species in a wild setting, or at the very least would be amongst the clearest imagery. What a surreal experience to have a small group of them hang out for hours.

"A sign installed in the largest wildfire burn I’ve ever seen, along the BC/YK border. Borrowing the aesthetics of BC Recreation Site signs, once again pointing to the overlaps of outdoor recreation, resource extraction, and the consequences of the climate crisis. Most recreation sites in BC exist along previously built logging and mining roads.
“Forced into a great and difficult transformation” was a line I heard in a lecture on Buddhist philosophy I was listening to on my drive up north. But it became another mantra I thought about while living in a place that’s been utterly transformed by resource extraction over the past century, and as I thought about the burnt landscapes I drove through."
More here.
Heads up everyone! This artist is selling prints of this piece for a fundraiser for incarcerated wildfire fighters working in LA currently and you can get a small one (8x10) for $50CAD or a large (16x20) for $100CAD including shipping. I just ordered a large one!

seeing that pink iguana, it made me think, are there any other pink lizards?
also my phone's autocorrect corrected "pink" to "punk", so, if you'd prefer or anything, now I'm curious, are there any "punk" lizards? 🤔
Thank you so much, you're by far and above one of my favorite blogs, all my well wishes to you 😊 💜
Well, Let's find some crust punk lizards with SICK FUCKING MOHAWKS...

Just some underloved and overlooked deep sea creatures 💙
🌊 First up is this deranged muppet - The Deep Sea Telescopefish
🌊 Hatchetfish - they’re actually really fun at parties
🌊 The Sarcastic Fringehead - cool outfit, horrible personality
🌊Siphonophores - asexual, mostly keep to themselves
🌊 Barreleye fish - lights on but no one’s home
🌊 Vampire Squid - I’m weak for those blue eyes
🌊 The Frilled Shark - excellent hugger
🌊 Giant Isopod - always plotting
🌊 The Umbrella Gulper Eel - bet he’d beat Joey Chestnut in a hot dog eating challenge any day
🌊 The Goblin Shark - sensitive about the size of his nose
🌊 Deep Sea Anglerfish - this is a female, the males are tiny little guys that latch onto the females by biting them, they then meld with the female and basically become a spare set of gonads so the female can reproduce as she pleases. Love that for her
🌊 The ultra black Pacific blackdragon- soul eater
🌊 We’ll end it with the Sea Angel who was captured on film living under the ice of the White Sea in Russia
