“All I wanna do is you turn into a giant woman”
Was too fun to make.
For my followers to reference:
do your research and go wild
Holy shit this is seriously fantastic!!!
Dude… there’s highlights and shadows of each color too?? BLESS YOUR SOUL!
This is amazing for d&d character’s when creating literally any race.
I’ve changed my Tumblr icon to show I support Net Neutrality; it will stay my icon for as long as possible. We need to spread the fact that if we don’t save it by June 11th, it will all end…
SPREAD AWARENESS! CALL YOUR SENATORS! Do whatever it takes! Together, we can safe a free Internet!
Some character sketches and concept art of my Super Sentai girl and her partner in crime !
I’m sorry but it’s really annoying to see this keep happening on my dash. For those who don’t know,Pixiv is considering shutting down access to western users.
Why?
Because of edits and reposts onto social media sights, such as Tumblr, Facebook, even Twitter. The problem has been here for the past months and I really just get sad seeing everyone reblog edits and reposts of art that’sUNSOURCED.
I’m sorry if I seem bitchy, but this is a critical issue, because not only would this cut off fandom posters, it cuts off any person in the US from accessing Pixiv.
Pixiv artists are already deleting their works and accounts, more and more artists are deleting everything because of this. I have alreadymade a post about this on my main, and so havetwo ofmy friends. You may say we’re throwing a big deal about this, but the thing is- we’re just trying to make sure that us fans and future fans have the art resources.
Things to know:
ZEROCHAN AND WEHEARTIT ARE NOT SOURCES.
I REPEAT. ZEROCHAN AND WEHEARTIT ARE NOT SOURCES.
If you really absolutely don’t know, try the Google Images source thing.
Or better yet-saucenao is a better one, as if it’s a pixiv work, it shows you the original pixiv link, if it’s deleted or not, and the artist.
If you don’t know the source, DO THOSE STEPS ABOVE, and if they don’t work, state you don’t know it and ask around.
Oh, and biggest thing for the Vocaloid fandom mainly, along with other fandoms:
this is a list of pixiv artists who do not want their art reposted or edited at all.
If you ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO REPOST THEIR WORK, ASK THEM FIRST! It won’t hurt you to be polite, and even if they don’t understand english they probably will understand what you’re saying.
I find this very relevant to this blog so I hope you’ll allow me to give another PSA.
(Thank you endless-chocolate for sending me this link)
I see this happen on my dash sometimes and I’m not gonna lie, I did consider unfollowing the people that reblog unsourced fanarts. Especially more so on those so-called one piece confessions/dirty op confessions whatever. It’s getting ridiculous.
However, it’s my belief that every one of you are wonderful people who respects others, especially those who have worked hard in drawing and writing all the wonderful doujins and fanarts. So I hope I can raise some more awareness to this.
As usual I’m going to illustrate it in an easy way. (read right to left)
What supposed to happen:
What you’re doing when you don’t source:
What you’re making the artist do:
Every artist grow by displaying their work and getting critique. But when their work is spread around without any credit to the artist, AND EVEN MAKES THE OWN ARTIST DELETE IT FROM HIS/HER SITE it lost the purpose and meaning.
What you should do from now on (if you haven’t been doing so):
Here’s a guide on how to use saucenao. If it’s from pixiv, saucenao will most likely find it. If it doesn’t, use google image search.
If an artist spend their time to draw that fanart, I think we can spend a bit of time finding out the proper source/credit.
This has been another PSA from Dark Honey.
cant stress enough about this topic, please source everyone
【 Such a tragedy we have avoided.. 】: Let me just pause ooc for a moment.
I am proud to be raising awareness of this serious issue!
Please spread this around so less and less of a problem will continue!
A quick lil original song I came up w in 20 min ⭐
important
so there’s this blog that wants to take down a kid’s animation channel
and they literally want that kid to kill themself
https://end-birdie.tumblr.com/
But not only wanting to end the kid “birdie”, they also threatened Princechain, stole his speedpaint, and hoped him to burn in hell. That is not okay.
Please report this blog if you can, the animation community is going to shit because of this and i’m fucking tired
sorry for the inactivity lately..!! i’ve been kinda busy, but on the bright side I’m planning a cute comic that might come soon(??)
trying to prove a point to my brother
reblog this if you think art IS work, and that it takes time and effort and is a valid source of income.
Attention ALL artists!
You sure have seen this post. It has spread like wildfire over the past few days so I doubt there is any artist out there who hasn’t seen it. But even if you didn’t, you should read on because I’m about to tell you a handy little thing that can help you to protect your art from such assholes as the anon who submitted this bullcrap, as well as art thieves in general.
The magic word is Metadata.
Metadata is like an invisible signature that is embeded into a file. It can contain all kinds of information, like Title, date, keywords for online seach engines, and copyright information. And the best thing is, since this information is “hidden” in the code of your picture, it’s hard to remove it.
There is a nice basic tutorial on how to add Metadata, or “additional file information” to your images in photoshop. It’s really, really easy so check it out!
“Adding Your Contact And Copyright Info To Your Photos With Photoshop” on PhotoshopEssentials.com
I’m not sure if you can do the same with any other art program. If you know how to do this in other programs / can confirm that it works the same way there, please tell me so I can add the information to this post.
Adding the Metadata will not stop idiots from taking and reposting your art. It also won’t make them stop editing out your signature. It WILL however, help you prove that you are the original artist whenever you have to. Always remember my friends. You, the artist, are protected by law. No one has the right to take your intellectual property and hard work and repost, use or edit it without your permission. Ever.
art thief: well how can you prove its yours??
me: /opens metadata
I spread the word as it is important to all artist who ever suffered from art thieving or so.
You guys, metadata is super important, you guys. In an everday and legal sense. People legitimately look at and rely on metadata to know the basic, but important bits of information about a digital product (paintings, photographs, exe files, etc.), ESPECIALLY the source.
Don’t underestimate it!
more no banana cat moods
More progress on the paper koi lanterns that I’ve been designing. I’ve finalized the designs and now I’m testing out different materials and colors before making the diy kits :)
The lip sync tutorial they DON’T give you
I mentioned on twitter that I wanted to do a lip sync tutorial and immediately got some people who were interested so I put one together real quick!
I’m going to use a bit of unfinished lip sync from my taz animated part as reference. They’re just gifs so no sound, but you should still be able to tell that he’s saying “I’d say a solid B… Solid B minus.”
Anyone who’s looked up how to do lip sync has seen phoneme charts. Phonemes are just the shape your mouth makes when you make certain sounds.
When you do lip sync, you want some kind of reference to make sure it’s right
What’s easiest is to say it yourself and pay attention to the shapes your mouth is making. Since you’re going frame by frame, your audio is slow enough that you can make each shape slowly and distinctly and you can get each individual phoneme down in the animation.
Don’t do this.^
An easy way to tell if you’re animating lip sync wrong is if you run out of frames to make each shape. You don’t need them! Making each shape is unnatural. People talk quickly and the mouth doesn’t have the time to get into each shape. They blend together, sometimes to the point where the shape doesn’t change at all!
Not only does the 2nd gif take less frames and energy to make, it’s more relaxed, it looks less distracting, and his lips are much easier to read!
These are reference charts to show the differences more clearly
This is the difference between getting swallowed up in every last detail and paying attention to reality.
What matters more than hitting every syllable is making it look natural and flow with the acting. That’s why anime mouth flaps can work so well. A strong pose through the whole body matters more than one mouth shape.
Some quick animation smear guides I put together for a friend! not sure if it works as a tutorial without my in person commentary, also more intended as a guide to show examples of basic/common smear types :O
…might make a tutorial on how to use smears another time…
So there is the whole tutorial animated !!!
With two examples and colors for each syllabes so you can visualize even more. Larger descripion on Patreon and more tutorials there as well!
Patreon
Hope it will help you ;) (Now you also know the sassy “Oh My God !!!)
