SM truly missed out on the opportunity to make Edward and Rosalie the twins. Although they have different hair colors they're both described as being the most attractive and the most alike. They both would hate it sssooooo much it'd be hilarious

Haha that would be pretty fun. And they’d never agree on which name to use, since Rosalie is dead-set on being “Hale” forever and Edward is such a Carlisle fanboy he probably sees it as an honor to use the “Cullen” name. I AM HIS FIRST SON I SHOULD USE THE NAME HE SO GRACIOUSLY SHARED WITH ME. YOU AREN’T HIS REAL SON AND YOU KNOW IT YOU’RE EDWARD MASEN JR NOT CARLISLE CULLEN JR GET OVER IT. Edward and Alice has good ‘twin’ potential, and I kind of love the idea of Alice and Emmett pretending to be bio siblings because even though they are WAY off in height, they are both outgoing and have dark hair, so it’s feasible. lol

I feel like the only reason why Archie was allowed to get away with calling Edythe “Edy” was because it still sounded… really pretty. The name “Edward”, however, is prone to much more embarrassing variations.

Maybe Alice had called Edward “Ed” or “Eddie” a few times in the 50’s and he had tolerated it, but once Emmett took that into stride and started nicknames like “Wardo” (pls read this entire section of Growing Up Cullen), Edward just kINDA HALTED THE NICKNAMES BUSINESS ALTOGETHER.

My favorite part is that Edythe throws the nicknames right back. In life and death she calls Eleanor “El” and Jessamine “Jess”. I feel like she would have just had to accept that nick names were a thing and there was no fighting it. Both Archie and Eleanor use the nickname “Edy” so she has probably just accepted that there is no way to change those two. 

(I’m still holding out on Edythe calling Royal “Roy” when she wants to get on his nerves)

I wish Edward used more nick names. Him calling Alice “Ali” would have been so cute.
