Tanith stepped out of her room and into the dimly lit hallway, her eyes blinking, still trying to adjust. Â She had spent practically the whole night reading her novel and finally finished a couple minutes earlier. Â Not wanting to go to sleep and risk waking up to see her roommates, she decided to take her chances with an all-nighter work day and the first thing to do was return her book and check out a new one.
Sure, she still had her pajamas on, but sheâd worn more embarrassing things to formal events, so her resistance to self-consciousness was at a higher level than mostâas long as she didnât bump into anyone else, she was sure sheâd have an okay day.
Katja walked in a not-so straight line in the dark hallway, her vision swaying from side to side as she went through her nightly walks after working the whole night and basically not sleeping a wink. Business was hectic earlier in the day, as some cupcakes went missing here and there, so she had to do a recount of the current ones she has in stock. If there was something to describe the workload she did for the day, it would be very, very tiring.
As the makes a turn for another corridor, a wavering figure accross the hallway seemed to be approaching her way.
. . .
. .
.
Is this one of the 'mysteries of Toffee Town'Â the others are talking about?
Well, if so, she's not gonna let some ghost get her, nor scare her. Not being in the right mind, she stood in place and waited for the 'ghost' to come closer.
Restoration Festival
Tobi had been looking down, so he was not aware that she had been staring at his hybrid features. He probably would have been more awkward had he known, but right now, he could just smile like an idiot in his ignorant bliss.
"Right? I guess it was too much of a good offer to be completely valid⌠Like, Iâm glad they gave us housing and jobs as promised, but⌠I can also see why they had to trick people to come here," he went on, ears shifting with his dialogue as a form of additional expression. Ears flickered from low to high, and his tail swished with aggravation! "Just wish they had some fine print to read, you know?"Â
Unknowingly, he moved onto the very subject that sheâd been thinking about⌠Something that he hadnât brought up before, because usually the other party brought it up first. But it was good to make sure they were on the same grounds for this.
"Hey, youâre a human, right? I can tell by your ears." It was presumptuous, of course; perhaps sheâd tell him otherwise.
"Are you surprised by what youâve seen in town so far?"
He made a bit of a scary face.
"I heard there are even monsters in the woods!"
They were moving.
And moving, and the tail was wagging, and wagging- and wagging.
She had to be honest, rather than being surprised with hybrids, she found the animal features to be quite cute and eye-candy. Despite trying to remove her focus on them, the lad's expressive gestures only made her eyes be fixated on them more.
I want to touch them.
Those were the only thoughts in her mind right now, even finding herself to not be able to hear what the poor hybrid was talking about. But she does get a gist of what he was talking about, something about fine prints, yes?Â
While she's taking the conversation seriously, it's hard to focus when such cute ears were flickering much like a real dog's-- but no, he wasn't a dog. She'd better keep than in mind- or else she'd just squish the furry ears and tail he had. She heard that hybrids are rare, and she honestly couldn't have cared less about the difference they have in features- but now she knew the reason why she didn't have much contact with them.
She only snaps back to reality when Tobi suddenly asked her a question, apart from his long rant about the town's current state and way of trickery. "Hm? Oh, yes. I'm human, as far as I'm concerned." She replied flatly. 'But it would've been better if I had ears like that.' Mostly because it adds to the cute factor.
Noticing the scary face he made, she could assume that he was trying to spook her out by asking that question, to which she replies-
"Rather than surprised, I'm more interested in knowing about them. It's a place I'll be living in for quite a while after all."
Besides, she didn't care as long as they didn't get in the way of her work. And as long as they don't go stealing her belongings. Other than those two, she's more or less apathetic about the whole idea of monsters in the woods. Not like they'll come out and eat them now anyways. They could've done that upon arrival, when the newbies still hasn't settled down in the place.

Restoration Festival
Sir Tobias! Tobi had never heard anyone call him something like that before. It wasâŚkind of weird and he made a bit of a confused expression. âTobi will be fine, Ms. Katja,â he corrected, despite being formal himself like the hypocrite that he was.Â
"True, I suppose," he continued, nodding his head at her point. "But itâs a bit much for all these suspicious things to keep happening⌠The flyer, the bridge, this festival⌠I suspect this all to be the mystery mayorâs doing.." He seemed to get a little annoyed and grumpily began to tear both weed and grass up around him. Nervous habit, perhaps?
"Not to mention, this festival is too risky.. I was trying to tear down some overgrowth outside the inn this morning and nearly put a hole in the wall,â he muttered somewhat incoherently as he continued to complain. Not exactly putting on a good face here, right now, Tobi! Realizing that himself, he chuckled nervously and quickly skipped to another subject.Â
"Getting used to life around town? Sure is different from the city, huh?" Not that he knew if she was from the city or not. But he was, so he simply assumed she was too.
"If that's what you want, Sir Tobi,." And she complies. A lot of people wasn't really good with her formal way of addressing them, and Tobi was just one of those people. It was really more of a habit than a conscious courtesy she offers.Â
While the man keeps on voicing out his complains, which she didn't mind that much because she found herself relating to them to be honest, her eyes wander on the peculiar and interesting features he held.
Fluffy. . . Ears, and a tail?
She's heard of hybrids, but it's the first time she's seen one ever since she arrived here. Like all normal people, she's naturally interested about them of course. But she wouldn't come onto him and ask if she could see if the ears are real--- would she?
......... Maybe.
"Eh? Ah, yes." She coughs, removing herself from her focus on his ears. "I-'m doing fine, I guess." She says, shrugging. "Yeah, this town is-- well, cleaner than the city, that's for sure. But as you said, the events that've been happening are rather fishy. . ."Â
Restoration Festival
Well, it seemed that there was a girl there! From what Tobi could tell, she was doing the same thing as him, picking weeds. There were a lot of weeds ⌠so she wouldnât mind if he made idle conversation to pass the time, right? The silence was driving him crazy and he figured talking would help motivate himselfâŚ
"Whoa, first person Iâve seen around..! You busy weeding too?" he asked cheerfully, yanking up another patch of overgrown sprouts. "Not much of a festival today, is it? Even though they called it one and all, itâs more work than fun⌠Iâm surprised people are even doing it!" Blah blah blah. He wasnât good at shutting up. Especially after being quiet all morning.
Ah. Well, he seems to be a friendly and rather sociable. . . And probably very bored with what they were doing. Weeding was a tiring and boring job, unless others were with you, maybe. As much as she'd like to focus and get her job done, the stranger didn't seem to have any intention of staying quiet while they were together, so she might as well entertain him.
It's not a surprise to see someone else here. They were quite a lot in town, so she guesses that it was too much to expect having alone time. "Yeah, it's really more of giving us a day off just so we can work more, if that even makes sense." She shrugs, throwing a bunch of weeds into the basket. "Ah, that's probably because they, or we, don't have any choice? It feels bad not to do anything while a few participate and works anyways."Â
Restoration Festival
It was still early in the day. Having been given a day off work after breakfast had been served, Tobi swapped into casual clothes and headed out. Today was supposedly something called the Restoration Festival. From the description provided by their âmayorâ, it was less of a festival and more of a giant public work day. No wonder they got the day off; it was so they could work on other things⌠like on fixing up the town, currently one huge mess. What a pain. Couldnât they have a real festival? At least there was something more along the lines of âfunâ at night..maybe.
He didnât want to do this. Why should he? This decrepit old town was on its way out. But, since he had the day off anyways, Tobi felt bad if he skipped out and went to do something else, especially if other people were doing workâŚor honestly hoped for the best. He was a grown man, so he had to set an example. He could work a littleâŚ
The blonde spent a little while pulling weeds. After what seemed to be a while, he looked up and regarded his work.
âŚâŚâŚâŚâŚâŚâŚâŚâŚâŚ..
Terrible. Just terrible.
He scooted down to his knees again and went back to pulling weeds. Was he really going to do this all day? He didnât think he had the attention span for it⌠At least cooking was fun. Maybe he ought to make a weed pulling inventionâŚ
Something moved from the corner of Tobiâs eye, and he turned to look. Was someone else cleaning around here? Maybe he could hang out with them instead⌠Misery loves company, or something like that, right?
"Hey!"

Katja had been walking her way around the grassy and greener parts of the town for quite some time now. The town suddenly announced a day-off for all of it's workers because of a festival of some sort. But really, it was more of another work day where she just gets to do cleaning and maintenance jobs rather than selling her cookies out in the town centre. Not that she was complaining, but shouldn't they have something like janitors or something?
Nevertheless, she changes from her work clothes and proceeded to look for a more secluded area where can do her 'temporary' job in peace. It was faster that way for her after all.
Deciding that she didn't want to get dirt under her nails, she proceeded to slip on some nice hand gloves and stared at the area she had chosen to pull weeds from.
It can't be that bad.
The redhead starts pulling the weeds up one by one, throwing them into the wooden basket she brought along with her because she wasn't planning to do sweeping duty after this.
While pulling and throwing the weeds, a voice calls out to her when she thought she was actually alone in the area.
". . . Hello. . ?" She hesitantly greets back.
[ Katja and her two siblings ahuehehehehehee///// She's basically the breadwinner of her family and is the one to take them shopping for new clothes whenever she gets the extra money to do so :3c One of them inherited her love for the $$$$$$ i wonder who it is //chokes

(Oh my goodness Iâm so sorry for taking so long!!! QQ And please forgive me for changing the style, I am still not sure which style to use for this..)Â
She states as she examines the strangerâs expression. After intense eye contact, she quickly turns away and resumes to admire the beautiful scenery. âYou should hold onto it, though.â She says matter-of-factly as another strong wind blows at them.Â
Katja returns the stranger's intense glare with a carefree smile, though inside she felt a bit nervous because she might have bothered the her. Thankfully, that didn't seem to be the case when she spoke and gave her a feeling of relief. "Of course! Thank you again.. .Um-- Miss?" She realized that she had forgotten to ask for her name properly too.Â

Person who buys/compliments stuff she makes = Good Person
Simple as that.Â
Katja beams at his offer and compliment, looking absolutely ecstatic at the idea. âThank you very much!â She clapped her hands together and now currently sees this customer as a good person despite not knowing him at all. She slowly takes out her bag and places it on some nearby flat surface which isnât the dirty ground and takes out a bag of every flavor like he wanted.
[[Itâs alright!/// I was gonna do that soon anyways O)â<
aiyahhh theyâll get along well then///// omg heâs buying everything o)â< chokes //shoves him in a field of flowers tyty for giving my daughter shopping money cutie ossan ]]
[[ hahah yeah theyâll get along just fine~ xDD and ossan appreciates hardworking young people >7<b ]]
Aspen asked, trying to make conversation while the girl take out a bag of each flavors. And he always wanted to know peopleâs name he deal with. In the end, theyâre all living in the same small town, and he would definitely buy cookies from her again.
One could clearly see happiness radiating from her. Being able to sell so much obviously made her happy.
"I used to work for bakeries before I came her, but since there's no bakery here I decided to start my own!" She grinned as she handed the cookies to him.
"My name is Katja! Katja Ellis!" She chirps.
"yes⌠I am a bit anxiousâŚ. " She stayed still, nervously thinking about what to say. "AlthoughâŚÂ ! I heard heating your body up to a certain temperature definitely helps with falling asleep⌠is why I went and took a bath. " The other female seemed a bit more relaxed so it helped her calm down. Was she her age? she was definitely young but she had an air of maturity. Ayame took a liking to her. What would girls talk about in the bath? together? She gazed up as she thought.
She was more beautiful upclose, Ayame thought to herself, now becoming more nervous. Someone like herself seemed plain in comparison to her. "Ah um⌠Since Iâm here, do you need someone to wash your back?" She smiled tilting her head to the side. This is what she usually did with her little sister⌠But there was no way an adult would agree, right?
Eh. . wait.
Wash my back? She wasn't too keen at the idea. Not that she was particularly against it too but, it felt a bit awkward for her since they were still strangers to each other after all.
Well, she seemed to be harmless so why not? Her shoulders were sore and it hurts to stretch them too much anyways.
"Sure, I'm leaving my back to you then."
[ ORYAAAAA WEEK LATE REPLY I'M SORRY SCREAMS ]
Making my way downtown walking fast fast faster.
Teadoir just came out of the trainâs restroom with red eyes. Which seemed that he was crying earlier. Even with his eyes were pretty sore he gives a big smile as he tries to find a vacant room. Heâll probably be okay?
Teadoir felt himself flinching as he was suddenly tapped on his shoulder. He backed away in a reflex.
Much to his surprise someone who just tapped his back was someone he just recently knew. Who was it? Katja was it? Did she hear him crying? But as soon as she mentioned âsore eyesâ, it doesnât seem to be the matter.
"Oh hey, youâve gave me quite a shocker there." Â He sighed in relief. Well maybe heâll just let her assume that it was indeed a sore eye.
She crossed her arms as she observed Teadoir's reaction. Was he caught red handed? It wasn't something to be so easy to keep a secret unless he wore sunglasses to hide it.Â
"Ah, sorry if I did." She apologized monotonously. "What's the matter, Sir Einsworth? Are you eyes alright?"
Tried one layer painting without any form of cheating--
it was painful. very painful.Â
