Independence Day, when we celebrate that fateful day way back in 1996 when Will Smith and Jeff Goldblum saved us from the alien invasion
"Anyhow, I’ve learned one thing now. You only really get to know people when you’ve had a jolly good row with them. Then and only then can you judge their true characters!" - Monday, 28th September 1942
Happy birthday Anne Frank 12th June 1929
#It’s so important to remember her though - now more than ever #Not the palatable PG-ified version who we brush over in our history books #But the living breathing /complex/ girl with a budding sexuality and all these hopes and fears for the future #Who was made to hide in an attic for fear of people betraying her #Who died because a neighbouring nation blamed their troubles on on a whole race of people she happened to belong to #Who could have lived a full and rewarding life but had it taken away by hate #We shouldn’t remember her because some asshat popstar decided to make un utterly deluded and selfish publicity stunt out of his visit to her #house; we shouldn’t associate her with books which just turn her tragic life and death into a Meaningful Metaphor #We should remember the girl and everything she was #We should remember Anne Frank - and we should remember /why/ her life went the way it did (queenofmultitasking)

lovely close up from Pushing Daisies
The key to accepting responsibility for your life is to accept the fact that your choices, every one of them, are leading you inexorably to either success or failure, however you define those terms.
Neal Boortz (via itsquoted)
