/rp i think it’s ’cause, like… dream was the one who

1) commissioned sam to build pandora’s vault in the first place

2) appointed him to be the warden, and

3) reinforced the “warden mindset” in him and the emphasis on preventing security risks at all costs (cc!sam confirmed we would’ve seen this in dream’s prerecorded lore >:’|)

and i guess it’s just like… the act of being the warden isn’t doing much for sam anyways? like his job canonically makes him miserable, he’s destroying most of his friendships to maintain the prison, and he’s setting himself up for failure with the syndicate already. he’s gonna get his comeuppance. having it be by c!dream’s hands, though, just feels….. like *horse looking out to sea* Man, yknow? to me at least

well luckily!!! the narrative somehow managed to avoid having it feel like a triumph at all in my book so i am quite alright with this. still very very heartachey but in a good, satisfying way. kudos to them

c!sam angst in january: my friends are being corrupted by an evil magic egg and im sad :(

c!sam angst in april: i am torn between my ambitions, my desire to keep the server safe, and my desire to protect the people i love. my actions indirectly led to the death of the person i wanted to save the most, and the guilt is destroying me from the inside out. i have become desensitized to torture. sometimes it is easier to slip into a numb, cold persona and commit horrible atrocities in the name of the greater good. i am slowly losing my humanity. i cut off the love of my life’s hand when he refused to give me back the prison keys he stole. i am trapped in my role as the warden as much as dream is trapped in his role as the prisoner. i can never truly rest or be at peace because this burden is not something anyone else should have to carry. my old friend is taking advantage of my guilt and business partnership with him to further his own ambitions. my other friends are still being corrupted by an evil magic egg, but even though they betrayed my trust and trapped me in a 1x2 box for hours on end, leading to me eating my own flesh to survive, i am desperate for any semblance of normalcy and will cling to any shred of remorse they might show for it, forgiving them without question. i canonically cry myself to sleep every night

Me please! I recently rewatched Hannah’s vod where she hides in her basement and Sam talks to the eggpire squad

I had forgotten Hannah had actually attacked Sam

And my favourite part is when Hannah says the Egg told her to come up and Sam just whispers in the most panicked voice “of course it did why would you listen??!?”

/rp it’s been long enough that people might’ve forgotten, so friendly reminder that hannah got trapped with the egg during the week when sam still thought tommy was dead. it was nearly a direct parallel to how sam left tommy with dream which ultimately lead to his death. at first sam told hannah up front, i can’t go with you. you’re on your own. but sam managed to push through his fear the next day and act to save hannah bc he couldn’t bear to watch another person in his care die because he was too late. can anyone hear me
