Mlp Redesigns: Big McIntosh

Isn’t he cute?? Or she, maybe! I’m not sure yet. Maybe he’s not sure yet! I LOVE seeing people’s transfem Big Mac headcannons and stuff but idk, I kinda like the concept of her not really knowing who he wants to be just now… or maybe feeling connected with both masculinity and femininity! the idea of a character exploring and working stuff out while also balancing work and family and chores is very sweet for me. His siblings still love him very much, whether she’s a girl or he’s a boy :]

Also I think it’s a really funny concept for Applejack to ask his pronouns by asking “am I the oldest apple daughter today?” And Big Mac can say “Eeyup” or “Nnope”

Design notes:

-Applejack is an apple pie, Apple Bloom is an apple turnover, and Big Mac is an apple crumble :]

-I made his yoke more realistic I guess? Idk don’t come after me please horse folks; I had one fuzzy reference and a dream

-gave her some flowers and heart shaped freckles for fun, since I’ve kinda given the apple family a heart motif in their cutie marks

-her colors are jarringly red compared to the crust colors of the other Apple siblings, but cmon…. He has to be red, in my heart…It’s important to me……

-hair the color of straw or wheat

Ok yeah brotherhooves social wasn’t the best handled episode but like imagine it. Come on a journey with me ok. A world with bigender Big McIntosh in it. Do you think she struggles to fill her mother’s shoes? Do you think he ever wishes she was there to show him how?

Anyways apparently I have big feelings about Big Mac! Also I like Pear Butter. I was going to redesign her for this drawing but evidently I decided she’s perfect and changed nothing. I did give Mac a more flattering dress however (because I didn’t like how the pink ribbons clashed). He wears flowers to match hers.

i loooove the headcanon that Big Mac and Applejack are twins :)

I know AJ calls Big Mac her big brother sometimes, so I figure he's the firstborn, but i think it adds some validity to their banter over who gets to inherit Sweet Apple Acres when its more ambiguous with twin-ness
