Way back in the day, goth clubs would project movies on the walls of the club. Not because anyone was there to watch a movie, but it added to the overall club-going experience.

If Legend was the movie, damn near the entire club came to a stop as we all watched this scene. And possibly pined over the dress.

Blows my mind to see people saying shit like “Well, maybe Iggy Pop should try wearing a shirt!” or  “Maybe Robert Smith’s too old for wearing lipstick!”  Maybe you should stop expecting the nonconformist heroes of your youth to suddenly turn Normal just because that’s what you did because you felt like you had to and now you’re second-guessing your life and your choices.  Maybe you should try that.

I had to dye my hair black for my career. I used to have the most vibrant reds in my hair, always box dye. Now that career path is looking like it’s not going to work out, and it’s starting like I lost my black for nought.

Don’t get me wrong the black looks lovely but I miss the vibrancy sometimes.

Spectral Venom

For a long time I have thought love and lusting to be poisons, they leeched through every ounce of me.

Agonising.

In your lips and claws I have found venom, the very same. Crawling though every strand of my being. It reaches across me like a burning tide.

However I find that for now, and I pray for eternity that the paralytic anguish of your hold bares the rich ecstasy I have never found in another.

I feel uttered incomprehensible to the world. It is a sea of empty husks and alien faces. I find the abundance of humankind reproachable.

Bothersome.

But in your company I have found another bleeding spirit. I hope that now and forever I can call you my infernal match, a grim spectre to haunt the world with me.
