This is still a wip but I’m way too excited about this au to not talk about it!
I have been getting into dragon ball (still watching the original) but I kind of fell into the fandom and this idea came about as I learned more about dragon ball and dragon ball z. So I’m just saying It now this au will change as I watch more stuff! Now let’s get on with it!
The premise of the au is what if years before frieza the leader of the cold empire/PTO king cold’s grandfather crash lands on earth and meets the humans
He meets some very like minded humans that have some solutions to a couple problems he’s been having especially with his reputation and thus humans are brought in as a secret partner, managerial staff, and pr team.
The humans prefer to remain anonymous as to not put a target on there back since ki is fighting is still rare so their existence is only known about by the people of Frieza’s planet and they massacred as (I’m calling them ice-Jin) ice-Jin when going off planet.
However near the end of king colds reign earth is finally done with a planetary defense system and stupidly powerful robot army to protect them and the humans go public.
Now it’s important to realize for this au that human and ice-Jin relations are extremely positive and while some on both planets might not like the PTO ice-Jin and humans have built a paradise on the backs of the rest of the universe and the cold family and human board of directors are extremely loyal to each other.
The whole au is a rabbit hole of public personas, lies, and propaganda by the cold family and human board
So let’s meet the players we have three main factions the PTO, Saiyans, and independents I’m only going to do the PTO right now.
The PTO
Can be split up into the board of directors and cold family
There are about 11 members bother human and ice-Jin but originally all human. The head of the board is a woman named Victoria newton and she and Frieza are equals.
She is shrewd business woman with an extremely charismatic personality, very manipulative and very smart. Her husband Conner is also a board member along with her father Richard.
The cold family is a little bit bigger than it is in cannon with 5 members
First is frieza the head of the PTO alongside Victoria and lord of the frieza force. He handles the military operations and the dirty work that Victoria keeps from going public.
King cold is retired and is enjoying a lovely vacation split between the ice-Jin home-world and earth where he spends time with friends former colleagues and even his grandchildren
Yes grandchildren I’m not sure if I want to add kuriza just yet so where do they come from?
Cooler and his wife, a human woman named Elizabeth. Their relationship is like queen Victoria and Prince Albert, and Elizabeth is just as messed up as the rest of the family. They supervise frieza force missions as a romantic date. They have many children but the important one is their eldest daughter winter who will be joining the family business soon.

so in my last post i said i stopped watching fate at episode 2 but i think i actually did watch all of season 1 with my mom. ill keep the general plot for episode 1 and 2 but i do have some changes.
they are all 18 (except Brandon who is 19 since his birthday is in that weird spot) they do dangerous stuff at Alfea so its a collage.
Tera goes by Roxy! her legal name is still Tera but she goes by Roxy, and instead of her story being the fat character i want her story to be about her becoming a fairy of animals not plants and her insecurities are more about disappointing her dad than her body. shes the type of gal to pick up a frog or lizard and collect animal bones and antlers she finds in the woods by Alfea. i will now be calling Tera, Roxy from now on.
i actually find the riven replacing Brandon thing really interesting so he can stay but they will be having a falling out so that riven can get some character development and so sky can get his BFF Brandon.
Bloom knows shes adopted, dad found her in a fire and adopts her, end of story. her parents are a fire fighter and florist like the original.
Brandon is Blooms cousin by her moms brother. he is trans and half Puerto Rican on his moms side. his mom works in marketing and his dad was a stay at home dad and worked from home. he also has been in cheer since he was 5. he has 3 younger siblings.
Tecna and Bloom have been friends since the 3rd grade, shes on the robotics team and didn't believe in magic until actually seeing it. both of her parents are dentists and she has an annoying younger brother.
Beatrix is stormy with a fake name
i don't remember who her lackey is all i remember how bi-phobic everyone was so hes gone/a background character with a healthy relationship
Aisha is cool i just miss the green
same with Musa accept she is bi and Roxy's brother is replaced with a long distance girlfriend she ultimately amicably breaks up with, she still cries though(cute group moment).
now Sky is interesting i think I'm going to keep him the same because i want his friendship with Brandon to help him. his dad is in the picture but hes still awful. him and Stella are still exes technically but they only dated to make his parents and her mom happy.
Stella, she is still sad but because her dad was assassinated literally last month. Stella's mom is still awful but her parents did divorce before her dads death and Stella became really close to her dad and grandma. Stella's mom is now queen regent since Stella is still in school. Stella's grandma has a magic induced dementia that is plot relevant from what people think was a failed assassination.
the burned are sort of staying the same but the answers to the mysteries are way different.
MORE TEACHERS!!! like Griselda and wizgiz albeit updated, not all will have a part to play but all are mentioned. fara dowling is now faragonda dowling because i have plans for domino. basically the fate teachers are there in addition to the originals.
i like the same school thing, so Faragonda is headmistress of the whole school, Griselda is headmistress of the fairy side and Saladin is headmaster of the specialists side.
Rosalind will still be around but I'm still trying to decide what to do with her, maybe something with the ancestral witches.
Cloud tower and Griffin will make an appearance but not as enemies to Alfea

So when Netflix released fate: wins saga I watched two episodes before quitting in sorrow due to lack of Tecna. Aka my favorite winx character of all time. I don’t remember why exactly but about 2 years ago I was reminded of fate and decided to make a tecna re-design and now two years later I redid my design and here’s the difference!
Willow is still silly and can sleep anywhere but that’s from being basically nocturnal
Willow and Paul silver are still 5years apart but there’s only 1 year between Paul and Jolene Pearl
Paul Silver usually goes by Paul or Paul silver if you want to be fancy but Jolene Pearl almost exclusively goes by Pearl
Personality’s
Willow: her heads in the clouds, her favorite word is “what?”. Silly and likes to make jokes and will explain things using references to tv and video games. If Star Trek survived she would be a HUGE Star Trek fan. Made the poor decision of deciding to study chemistry and mechanical engineering. Is good at it but it made her already bad sleep schedule worse. Scared of spiders and most wildlife. Forever the shortest at 5’4 max. Closest with her dad.
Paul: LOVES NATURE. Is the most talkative of the three but can’t lie for shit and was always the first to crack under pressure. Now is a combination of Huey and Webby. Always an optimist and usually has the knowledge to back it up. Want to work in forestry in 12. Katniss is his troop leader. Always has a backpack(not pictured above) that somehow has everything you need no matter how strange. Love’s history and art as well. The tallest at 6’1 and is taller than Peeta. Closest with his mom
Pearl: is the only allistic of the three. Really sassy and always has a good comeback. Resting bitch face + her mother’s scowl. The most combative and angry, she is the bully’s bully. Loves talking about fashion and makeup with Effie but is actually closest to her pawpaw Haymitch. Is in ballet, does theatre, and opera. She has the best singing voice and the best at designing and frosting cakes. Gets to be 6’0 also taller than Peeta.
All three: have skill in art from painting with dad. Have at least 4 baking recipes memorized. Can shoot a bow and arrow but skill varies(Pearl is the best). Will make fun of each other mercilessly.
Hay this be a dumb question to anyone in fandom but I was wondering if you could tell me why do you enjoy creating or engaging in aus and fanfiction? My significant other doesn't understand why I enjoy these things and I don't have the words to explain why. My intent in gathering this information is not to convince him to like fandom but to understand why I like fandom or why others May enjoy fandom. Specifically when it comes to fanfiction and aus.
Unapologetic. Hard to kill. Feral, filled with sunlight, bright, beautiful in a way that the conventional and controlling hate but cannot ever fully destroy. Stubborn. Happy. Bastardous. Friends with bees. Highly disapproving of lawns. Full of wishes that will be carried far after I die.
So I really like the popular fanon of the hunger games being a memoir that Katniss wrote and published. But recently I came across an analysis here on tumblr (don’t remember by who) about how Katniss writing and publishing the hunger games is out of character for canon Katniss. That got me thinking about how in the real world people close to and especially the children or parents of a famous person will write or edit a diary of a loved one after they have died.
So here’s the idea what if Katniss wrote down her experiences in a journal in order to process her trauma perhaps around the time of the epilogue. Fast forward years into the future and Katniss and Peeta have died of old age, while going through all their parents stuff the toast babies find the journals and decide to read them.
Together they would publish the journals maybe as a way to preserve their parents story or their might be some misleading rumors they want to stop. Ether way the toast babies publish the books and Katniss stays in character.

while hesina and Lirin were travelling with the band of freed slaves the two were loosely in charge, but decent enough at delegating that other people quickly took on major leadership rules.

layla, 8th dan before being sold to pay family debts. quartermaster/ house steward role. roughly same age as hesina. worked mostly as a house slave.
she had actually managed to half pay off her slave price, something she gripes about for laughs, she could have bought cool stuff with that money. most of the money came from the child she had, who was sold as a baby, wouldn't be able to find it if she wanted to, and she's not even completely sure she does.
layla is fascinated by different peoples religions, languages, beliefs...she's met people from a surprising number of countries working as a lighteye's servant. mostly self taught reading, hesina teachers her to write. hesina and her talk a lot about religion and philosophy. one of the few people who doesn't put hesina on a pedestal. hesina's first squire.
it seems that the squire rules are different for each order. i'm wildly but confidently headcanoning that willshapers get exactly ten, and they can tangibly feel each squire bond being formed.
willshapers have an interesting relationship to Connection. Connections can free you. Connections can become chains. best to be aware. either side of the willshapers squire bond can break the connection at any time.
(willshapers also have an interesting relationship to Oaths. Oaths can very definitely become chains. they just... i mean oaths still matter, but they don't take breaking them as seriously as some of the orders. circumstances matter. people grow. the spren once vowed not to bond with the singers again, and yet...it's been millenia. The lightspren are thinking. Things have changed.)

Ruush, 5th dahn before being enslaved for refusing to follow orders. One of the only ones with actual military training, though his leg was broken and healed wrong, meaning that he could only train, not fight, until he became hesina's second squire and healed.
Often Lirin's guard. Only 15 years younger than Lirin, but has for sure called him dad. Lirin calls him son and tries not to lecture him too much on being a soldier.
Ruush is mildly bemused by the entire concept of pacifism (Not common among Alethi!) and listens very patiently, with genuine if slightly abstract interest. i mean, you gotta admit, violence does beget violence. wild. anyway, back to work.
Has heard enough stories about Tien and Kaladin that he pretty much thinks of them as his brothers.
When kaladin and him finally meet kal is... mostly cool with that (sure, this might as well happen. can't have too many brothers). but there is significant disagreement over who's oldest.

shortly before making it to Urithiru oathgate they run into the listeners. layla and ruush hastily throw up some walls between them while Hesina tries to communicate that she comes in peace. The listeners scramble to get Eshonai to translate.
it takes some time to talk. the translation process with the council of five. mistrust on both sides. lirin gives an impassioned speech about wanting to be free from violence, and some listeners swear they could almost hear the man attuning to the rhythm of hope.
Eshonai gives her plate and blade to Thule before traveling to Urithiru. Venli calls her a fool. The council approves. This might be their one last chance.
Eshonai returns full of enthusiasm. This is it. They could escape. They would still need gems to make the fields grow, but the Neshua Kadal leader women and her mate have been robbing other humans blind while traveling. This could work.

Venli presents her own radical idea, storm form, a form of power.
Maybe two thirds of the listeners take the chance on Urithiru.
A third stay on the shattered plains to fight for vengeance to the bitter end.

Listeners slightly outnumber human population. People learn quickly that any violence gets randomly duplicated, which Lirin is weirdly smug about. Eshonai spends a lot of time on language lessons.
After sitting down and talking it out, they eventually decide to make a council of ten — 5 humans, 5 listeners. Hesina's lightspren is given the deciding vote if they tie.
They need each other too much to operate separately, even if the place is technically big enough.
Over the course of a month they actually settle into a decent routine. There's some mistrust, but Eshonai manages to explain fairly eloquently why they decided to kill the king, fearing being enslaved by the return of the gods
yeah the humans can get that. we don't really care about the king anyway.
the parshendi were shocked by how brutally and disproportionately the Alethi responded
tell me about it. i once scratched a window and was beaten until i couldn't walk.
Really, things are promising, common ground, willingness to move forward together.

Layla draws her own lightspern to much rejoicing, reaching the third oath, so now they can move between the oathgates without worrying about leaving people trapped in Urithiru without Hesina.
Eshenoi swears her own first oath!! even more rejoicing!!! listener and dark eyes going together into the future freely and equally.
if only they could convince Venli's revenge splinter group to join them. of course everyone wants vengeance but... they want to live more. they want to live for more.
the 'stormform' group is going to get themselves killed. and if somehow they don't... fear grows that the songs, the warnings about forms of power — they were for exactly this moment but what are they going to do? attack their own people?
The radiants alternate going out on a few more raids, freeing more slaves. They also bring stolen parchmen now, which they had mostly decided to leave behind in past raids, as they wouldn't really help in their own escapes at all, and everyone felt bad continuing to treat as slaves even if they come with, but they just...stand there. The Listeners are continuously baffled by them.
Some humans think about another few thousand years of their children and their children's children and their children being tenth dahn eternally ... they know humans who are dead behind the eyes and stormfather. If you bred for that...

(a storm is coming and things are going to get messy but those who were there will look back on these months and know how important they were. when the lighteyes come and the singers come things will change. but for a moment there was something beautiful and almost pure. and those foundations will matter more than anyone could possibly imagine)
ESHONAI IS OK!! I have been on tumblr (finals!) so I just saw this! I’m so happy you added more, your writing and world building are amazing!
While reading this I was reminded of the funny idea I had that was the original inspiration for the bear on her hammer and made me want to draw the armor. (Spoiler warning for wor just in case)
It’s basically that when Szeth first try’s to assassinate Dalinar, after the battle between szeth, Adolin, Dalinar, and Kaladin. Hesina and maybe Lirin somehow witnesses szeth and kaladins one on one portion at the end. Of course before Szeth runs away Hesina gos full mama bear and chases Szeth back into the palace while lirin goes all surgeon/worried dad mode on Kaladin.
Here’s the vision. The terrifying assassin in white is flying through the castle straight toward the kholins!
Oh no he must haven't defeated Kaladin and is back to finish the job! But nope he wins past them and quickly turns a corner.
A couple seconds later Hesina in full shardplate and hammer, glowing and moving the freaking stone under her and she goes “Where is he.” In that terrifying voice that warrants a close up on the eyes.
I mean at that point you just point to where Szeth went and hope you soil your pants! Of course Hesina gives a polite thank you and she’s back to running and yelling about how Szeth will pay for what he did to her precious baby boy Kal! (The more embarrassing the nickname the better)
Bonus points if this is most of the kholins first interaction with Hesina and even Shallon and Adolin don’t recognize her at first with the helmet on.
So yea this is what gave me the idea for all the bear elements and to design the armor. Well this and the way she pushed Adolin to get to Kaladin. Although if I’m being honest the “Mom” moment was want inspired me in the first place this idea came while sketching.

I just finished all of the Stormlight archive(except edgedancer and waiting for WAT) and I am obsessed! I do wish we got more info about the Nightwatcher as even the small glimpse of her we get are pure gold. She reminds me of the feyfolk from Ireland, Scotland, and whales in the best most unhinged way. I do however hope a couple things I want to happen with her.
A little context: I head cannon the three bondsmith Spren as storm father is the eldest brother and a brooding teenager 15 or 16, the Nightwatcher is like an insane 12 year old(think of a older lilo mixed with Matilda), and the sibling is the baby of the family who is like 6 or 7
Her bondsmith should be a singer.
If it’s someone we know than Vai, I know she’s young but I feel like together her and the night watcher could be schoolyard besties as in my head cannon they would be functional the same age, with Kaladin describing Vai as 7 in oathbringer it’s safe to assume with the singers faster aging she would be around 10 post time skip.
Also it could provide some character moments for kaladin and Vai, with her being an orphan and separated from everyone she knew Vai could blame kaladin for leaving and inadvertently causing her to be left alone, should ultimately come to terms with the fact that kaladin probably would have been killed by the fused and that he was not responsible for the way the fused punished Vai’s people, it could end with her forgiving him in some small way and perhaps swearing an ideal because of it.
Kaladin would also have to atone for his part, it could also tie into Kaladin’s therapy arch by helping Vai with her grief and perhaps helping her find a new family with the listeners or even becoming her new family.
and it connects to the themes of the cycle of revenge and Vai and kaladin would go through an arch of breaking the beginnings of a cycle of revenge in order to prepare for the bigger cycles that are connected to the conflict.
Another compelling option is someone we don’t know, maybe a family member of a known singer or listener like if Rlain had a sibling or one of Venli’s new listeners. A Iriali or Riran singer might be fun
I am also cautious about how the other two bondsmith surges work
as the surge Adhesion is only of Honor and the nightwatcher is of cultivation, the Nightwatcher could have a cultivation only version or substitute surge with it perhaps focusing on physical bonds, but I don’t know how that would work
And this is just a personal preference the stone theme we see from our only bondsmith just feels wrong
Overall the Nightwatcher’s bondsmith should help them avoid making a new oath pact. As reforging the oath pact just perpetuates the cycle of abuse and revenge that causes this war. And the books are ultimately about breaking that cycle and growing beyond them. A singer would make perfect sense for the Nightwatcher in this regard.
Small side tangent would be Vai’s mother being found/introduced, it also could be cool if she became a wind runner and her story could show how the elites of society pit the lower classes against each other and how the common human are not the singer’s enemies but those who enslaved and abused them (in this example the rich lighteyes). Also she could be extremely protective over Vai(the reason she wouldn’t be a will shaper) and perhaps her third or fourth ideal is about her balancing her job of protecting while avoiding controlling the people she wants to protect. Something like “I will strive to protect without force or control” or “I will protect all who need it, even if some have hurt me”. I will add more in another post
