The Abuja National Mosque in Abuja, Nigeria by AIM Consultants [1984]. It serves as the federal mosque for the Nigerian capital, a city straddled between the country’s Muslim north and Christian south. The mosque is actually directly across the street from the National Christian Centre. As a planned capital, this was done in order to equally represent the central religions of the multicultural/ multiethnic nation. Its central component is a gold anodised dome covering a main prayer hall. The complex also contains a library, conference hall, and religious school.
