A Meteor and the Gegenschein : Is the night sky darkest in the direction opposite the Sun? No. In fact, a rarely discernable faint glow known as the gegenschein (German for ācounter glowā) can be seen 180 degrees around from the Sun in an extremely dark sky. The gegenschein is sunlight back-scattered off small interplanetary dust particles. These dust particles are millimeter sized splinters from asteroids and orbit in the ecliptic plane of the planets. Pictured here from last March is one of the more spectacular pictures of the gegenschein yet taken. The deep exposure of an extremely dark sky over Teide Observatory in Spainās Canary Islands shows the gegenschein as part of extended zodiacal light. Notable background objects include a bright meteor (on the left), the Big Dipper (top right), and Polaris (far right). The meteor nearly points toward Mount Teide, Spainās highest mountain, while the Pyramid solar laboratory is visible on the right. During the day, a phenomenon like the gegenschein called the glory can be seen in reflecting air or clouds opposite the Sun from an airplane. via NASA
Sometimes I wonder if you feel the same. If you ever look at the stars and wonder what Iām doing. If you ever eat that fruit and remember the joke I made about its flavor. If you listen to that song, or hear someone mention that author, or see a word in that language, and you canāt help thinking about me.
And the rest of the time I remember that just one of us fell

i support universal free healthcare for one simple reason: if you are diagnosed with a terminal illness you should quit your job. quitting your job is the correct response to terminal illness. but you canāt do that if your healthcare is tied to your job
listen if somebody knows that they will be dead in a years time, and you are forcing them to continue to come into work, thatās fucked up. terminally ill people should be able to quit their jobs and live their last few months to the fullest. i donāt get how thatās a controversial opinion
I slipped pronouns into the wine while you weren't looking
Light it up, Blue! happy autism acceptance month, donāt support autism speaks!
sensory issues be like *turns up phone brightness to hear better* *turns off light to see better* *socks donāt have to match but they MUST be the same length and texture* *washes hands out of no where because they donāt feel clean* *oversensitive to one sense but undersensitive to another, related sense* *unlocks phone to concentrate*
