“I know far more than you do.” Yuuka throws Futo too the ground, but doesn’t let her get up. Pointing the metal tip of her parasol at Futo’s neck, she grins menacingly (the only kind of grinning she knows). “What I will lecture you on is of my discretion and mine alone! You insolent little brat are nothing more than a babe compared to me, and you will afford me the respect my power deserves, or I’ll see to it your ashes are scattered across my fields.”
Though Yuuka, Futo’s fast learning something new - youkai can still be scary, and she can still be scared of them, even as a shikaisen! Especially considering she had orders from Miko not to cause too much trouble... and angering this person seemed to be a lot of trouble. “...You’re still a foul youkai,” Futo grumbled, one last bit of resistance as she crawled slowly backwards to try to get some distance. “I’ll... be nice, and let ye go for now, but do not follow me, and do not harm me, or death will befall ye! Mark my words!”

“You? Smite me? Surely thou art a foolish child.” Yuuka is going to tighten the grip, lifting Futo off the ground to meet Yuuka’s gaze at eye level. “I should hope it’s beginning to hurt. Because naughty children like you deserve to be punished. You should respect your elders, little one. I am a very kind and patient youkai, and it would do you well to not disrespect me. You speak of Tao as if you are its master, but I can see weakness within you.”
“Unhand me, foul youkai!” The pain is even worse now, but so is Futo’s anger at being treated like a child. No matter her appearance, she wasn’t a child! She’d lived over a thousand years! ...Well, sort of. Technically. “Do not think I will permit thee to lecture me on the ways of the Tao! What ye know of it would surely fill only a thimble compared to me. And I am no child!”

“Oh you will? Then I’m going to have to stop you.” Yuuka grabs Futo by the wrist, strong enough to break a normal human’s bone, but should still hurt enough for Futo. “Threatening to do harm to my innocent flowers. Didn’t your mommy teach you any manners, child?”
“Do not... hey, that... that’s really starting to hurt, thou... wicked being.” Her hand being in pain as it was was really distracting her. This wasn’t good. “My mother taught me plenty, and I taught my own children plenty in turn. But bowing before a youkai is something she never taught me. Be wary, or I will smite thee with the power of the Tao. Now let go of my hand!”

The stare turns full-scowl in seconds. What gives a Shikaisen, the lowest form of immortal, any right to look down on a youkai, especially one that’s blessed by Bishamonten?
Perhaps if Shou didn’t want to be looked down upon, she could have followed the Path of the Tao and become a yaoguai... but in Futo’s mind, she could look down upon any youkai, especially a Buddhist youkai. And what’s wrong with that?
