Siobhan Thompson dunking on Black Sails for being ”Outlander for boys” and saying it’s not gay in the latest Adventuring Party is hilarious to me. Because yes, the first season is like 25% pirates fucking SWs but the rest of the show is about a pirate mourning his gay lover to the extent of wanting to dismantle the machine of colonialism, while also falling in love with this chameleon of a man who he’s propped up as a figure head of the whole movement.

Anyway, if you think Black Sails seems interesting but are put off by the GoT levels of casual background female nudity and admittedly hard to watch SA depictions in the first season, I promise you it gets so so much better and it gives Good Story. Fast forward through those scenes if you want to.

I fear that like 93% of IWTV fans on TikTok aren’t cut out for being fans of it. Like all the characters are awful and that is the point?? Go watch Off Campus or something if you want wholesome unproblematic romance.

Genuinely, no disrespect to any of these people, you like what you like. It’s just strange to me that people don’t seem to actually like or enjoy the thing they claim to be fans of and keep wanting to change fundamental parts of what makes it what it is.
