people who think the show isn't going to go full devil's minion genuinely sound alien to me. i truly just do not get why anyone is questioning it at all. i'm sorry, they took a character from the books whose two primary claims to fame are being the boy conducting the interview and being armand's lover, aged him up, made him one of the major characters in the show, took the time to hint at his fairly extensive backstory (a big part of which they had to invent from scratch, mind you), demonstrated that said backstory is deeply interwoven with armand's character, showed his clear attraction towards armand and dropped hints at their connection from essentially the very beginning, already confirmed that armand is in love with him both through words and actions, all the while carrying the legacy of one of the most beloved romances of the genre ever written which managed to amass a cult following despite being described in comparatively short terms and having literally all the actors buzzing with excitement about the dynamic specifically in a romantic and sexual context, and you think they aren't going to take all that and fucking run with it to the point of exhaustion? in what world does most of this even make sense outside of devil's minion being very clearly and very consistently set up to be a major thing when their time comes, which is unsurprisingly going to be in qotd - a part of the show based on the very book that made people fall in love with the original dynamic?

The Good Place is an excellent show for many reasons, but one that doesn't really get talked about enough, probably because of how the season 1 twist obscures it, is that the 'No Exit'-esque "Hell is Other People" scenario for an afterlife of eternal torture is an avante garde experiment from an Auteur demon who's trying to convince the other demons of his Vision while they're like "idk man flaying genitals works really good"
