Ethan Winters SFW Alphabet
These are a mess of before and after re7, tried to make it s/o but a few Mia mentions. Hope you like them!
A = Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)
Ethan is very affectionate but keeps PDA to a minimum not because he doesn’t like it but because he’s scared of embarrassing others. If reassured though he’s very openly affectionate. Sleeps with his arm over his s/o, hugs his friends at important times. Big on from behind hugs. Bad with words so he tends to show affection through actions like buying favorite snacks and such. He’s very doting.
B = Best friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?)
An extremely trustworthy friend. You call him at 4am needing help he will show up, he’ll complain the entire time but he will come. Will drive you home when drunk, remember his friends mom’s birthday and is a good listener for off days. Not the best at advice but he tries his best.
C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)
Ethan absolutely loves cuddles, after the games he’s scared of being touched though. Which makes him touch starved after a long time and he’ll eventually give in.. Before he liked holding his s/o, comforting and making them feel warm. But now he just wants to collapse and be held. Loves his scalp being touched and petted. Even when it gets too hot and sweaty he won’t let go.
D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)
He was(is?) married so yes he did. Of course now living normally feels impossible. He wants to have a normal life but after everything it just feels wrong. All he wants is normal again. He is a decent cook and likes making hearty meals but usually doesn’t have time. Tries to eat healthy and is somewhat successful. So one day it’ll be salad and pasta then pizza and mac n cheese for 5 days in a row.
He’s pretty organized but slips up a lot. Tends to remember to clean and will clean everything all at once every few days.
E = Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)
Yeesh imma pass on this one lmao
F = Fiance(e) (How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?)
He married Mia after a few years I like to imagine. Maybe about 3 or 4 which some people thought was a little early. But he loved her and thought she was great in every way. He wanted her to be his wife as quick as he could because deep down he felt she was too good for him. She denies that and they were happy for the first few years until he picked up how strange she was acting.
G = Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)
Very gentle. He isn’t always the best with words but he tries his best. Physically he’s careful he doesn’t like man handling anything, only when necessary, he likes soft things hence his cat Mr Buttons.
H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)
Hugs are Ethan’s reprieve. A good hug, though he’s not good at asking for them when he’s emotional, will completely calm him down. He likes warm good hugs and just feeling someone in his arms. His mom was a hugger and he got it from her. Expect quick small hugs goodbye if you’re his s/o. He hugs tight, he isn’t crazy strong so the squeeze feels good like he’s reminding them he’ll always be there.
I = I love you (How fast do they say the L-word?)
After a few months, he overthought it a lot. Stressed himself out then blurted it out at a random moment when he was lost in their face like a romantic nerd.
J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?)
Ethan is not the jealous type, that wouldn’t be his first thought. He has faith in his s/o and friends. He would probably think he did something wrong if it got bad enough. If however it was blatant flirting or something that disregarded him bluntly like some guy messing with his s/o he would freeze up a moment and get super serious. Flat out say that isn’t funny and to leave or apologize. If that goes badly he will just calmly leave with his s/o fuming he is not a confrontational guy. After he’ll be a bit distant and grumpy which will take some coaxing and compliments and assuring him to get him out of.
K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)
Ethan kisses firmly and warmly. Like a comforting sturdy wave he likes kisses to last for a long time which can get flustering. Or with smaller sweet pecks as he keeps wanting to look at their face and smile. He likes kissing cheeks and necks and loves it when his forehead is kissed but he never says so. Gets all giddy and warm inside.
L = Little ones (How are they around children?)
Ethan loves kids but gets a bit nervous around them. He’s worried he’s not ready to take care of kids and shouldn’t be trusted around them. But he likes playing with them and listening to them ramble about lizards and whatever. He’s starting to think about having them and wants a daughter someday.
M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)
Ethan is a heavy sleeper, work tires him out and he is the exact opposite of a light sleeper. He sleeps like the dead absolutely nothing could faze him slightly. Often will wake up with him on top of you snoring softly his face on your shoulder or buried in his pillow. When he does wake up he’ll pull you in for half awake morning cuddles, he buys expensive comforters because they really are the best for sleeping and cuddling. Though when working he’ll be up before you and will have coffee ready and waiting for you and maybe breakfast in the fridge if he had time to make any for himself. He tries to make breakfast in bed on special days but he’s half asleep will probably fail and give you eggos.
N = Night (How are nights spent with them?)
Night time is movie time. Sit down with bowls of ravioli or pizza if it was payday and be prepared to binge watch whatever obscure thing he found this time. Ethan loves movies and will adore curling up and commentating on absolutely everything. Curled up with him and his cat is heaven and he loves every moment of it. If he’s not tired sitting so close will get him touchy feely and you’ll have to kick the cat off the couch then make sweet love. Nights like those he always looks forward too when he isn’t working.
O = Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)
Ethan is very much an open book. He doesn’t keep secrets from you. But after re7 things change so much. It’s so hard for him to make eye contact even. It takes a very very long time for him to even be able to sleep again let alone go to therapy and talk about it. One day he will tell you absolutely everything that happened, it’s insane but he feels better like a weight came off and slowly he can heal.
P = Patience (How easily angered are they?)
He has immense patience. Too much. To the point that he’s kind of a pushover at times and will just go with most times. Though if he finally does snap it’s scary.
Q = Quizzes (How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?)
Everything but your birthday. He’s bad at dates but remembers absolutely everything about his spouse, favorite food, way they like their hair cut, their favorite couch cushion, that one dumb joke that will always make them laugh, the name of that kid they hated in the 5th grade. But not dates.
R = Remember (What is their favorite moment in your relationship?)
After a disastrous beach holiday somewhere outside of LA it suddenly stormed hard. You were both huddled under a shit umbrella on the side of an old shop everything drenched. You started laughing uncontrollably when he apologized which made him laugh before running out into the rain and sand and getting even more drenched. He thinks of your laugh and drenched hair stuck to your face, it’s one of his happiest memories.
S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)
Very much so. He has a baseball bat kept in his closet. He is very ready to jump to action which makes you wonder where he got such instincts from. If it’s after the events of re7 he sleeps with a gun under his pillow and has trouble sleeping. He wakes at the slightest sound and is insanely protective swearing to never let something happen to you. He’s too stubborn to want to be protected by anyone and has trouble trusting others after.
T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)
If he hasn’t forgotten the date he’ll overthink and panic trying to think of something PERFECT. He’s a simple guy and will probably ask what you want for a date or gift. But just for birthdays and stuff. He will get a special like some fancy chocolates or a nice necklace he saw. Good at gag gifts so you’ll have a lot of weird t shirts and posters.
U = Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)
Picks at his nails too much, taps things when anxious and can be grumpy very easily. Leaves the toilet seat up, forgets birthdays.
V = Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)
Ethan is pretty indifferent to his looks. He doesn’t think he’s bad looking and tries to make himself presentable. But when he focuses on it too much he gets insecure and always fusses with his hair. But he’s gorgeous so it’s ridiculous to even worry about. As he gets older he worries about needing to go to the gym more so he doesn’t age badly and wonders when he’ll get gray hairs.
W = Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)
He would but he would try to just shoulder that pain and keep living. It would bother him and he would become more quiet. He is a guy who depends on his friends and loved ones a lot so if he’s suddenly alone it will definitely wear on him.
X = Xtra (A random headcanon for them.)
He has a cat named Mr.Buttons and acts like he can talk using a silly fancy voice to voice him especially when alone.
Y = Yuck (What are some things they wouldn’t like, either in general or in a partner?)
People who eat with their mouth open, liars, slow walkers in streets. People who are mean to waiters.
Z = Zzz (What are the sleep habits of theirs?)
Sleeps completely splayed out like a star fish in boxers if it’s warm. Wears socks to bed like a psycho. Tends to sleep way too late because of work so he naps a lot on his couch and can fall asleep pretty easily pretty much anywhere.
