She/Her - Born 1476 YT (Tirion) - Noldor - Feanorian - Swordsmith

⚔️🩸🔨

Makarillë's parents were smiths and the first ones to forge swords for Feanor. She learned her craft from them and her family follow Feanor to Formenos. There she grows up with other Feanorian children and befriends Celebrimbor.

She was an older teen during the Flight of the Noldor and got caught up in the total mess that was the First Kinslaying. Yes she had a sword on her and used it. After that she sails with Feanor's people, follows Curufin and continue to forge swords for their soldiers through the First Age.

After the Luthien event she disagrees with Celebrimbor and leaves Nargothrond with Celegorm, Curufin and their most loyal followers. Her blind loyalty to Curufin and the oath slowly drives her away from her softness and toughtfulness. She takes part in the Second and Third Kinslaying. She lives in Himring until the War of Wrath

During the War of Wrath she is badly injured and loses the use of her left eye. After the battles she lingers in Middle Earth because she knows she's VERY concerned by the curse of Mandos.Tyelpe and her reconnect and she joins him in Eregion, she's part of the Gwaith-i-Mirdain.

During the sack of Eregion she's temporarily captured by orcs who cut her index and middle finger off to prevent her from ever creating again. She's nursed back to health by Elrond in Rivendell and swears an oath to never forge a sword again.

Makarillë tries to find peace againin Rivendell. She is stoic and has a very calm strength. Not very talkative but very sweet (apart from the mass murdering thing-)

(she might or might not make one sword exception to reforge Narsil)

Day 10 & 11 of @tolkienfashionweek : Across the Ages

I wanted to draw this timeline for my OC Mentelossë since FOREVER and this event is the perfect occasion 🏵️

Barad Eithel: Child/Teenager, medieval style and more practical, they don't have access to a lot of materials other than wool, maybe she has some more expensive dresses (because princess etc) but that's not how she mainly dresses. mostly blue shades (house of fingolfin) sometimes a bit of red/burgundy.

Gondolin: medieval revival style (which is how I imagine gondolin). Blue, white and yellows (house of Fingolfin)

Sirion: she dresses however they can dress as refugees, sort of mismatched and more practical to work

Amon Ereb: practical clothes and furrs/velvet. She dresses more in red shades to fit in

Lindon: During the second age she has her most complex and rich style (she's Gil Galad's sister, have political responsibilities) So long dresses, velvet, silk, lace, gold etc still blue and gold colors

Imladris: During the third age she goes for much simpler dresses (like the sort of togas they wear in the films and art nouveau style) and she almost only wear yellow (favorite color). That's her peaceful retirement style XD

The same goes with her hairstyles ! (she has short hair at the beginning of her time in amon ereb, cut during the sack of Sirion)

and that's also something for @cnc-week I don't draw Celegorm and Curufin enough ! The Feanorians are always so fun to draw they're so dramatic

Day 2 of @tolkienfashionweek : Cultures

Different kinds of elleth fashion in Beleriand !

Our models are:

Gondolin: Idril Celebrindal, sort of medieval revival, you know all those 60's paintings of fantasized middle ages

Doriath: Luthien Tinuviel, more of a chinese fantasy/wuxia style, butterfly themed for parallels with my current Melian design

Isle of Balar: Singwaen (OC), I almost always use south east traditional clothing inspirations for drawing Teleri elves. This is a chut thai, traditional thai clothes (it looks absolutely gorgeous and the fabrics are often very shiny I love it)

Thargelion: Curunis ( @linden-leaf 's OC), medievalish style, feanorian looks are more strict and have sharper silhouettes than other noldorin styles

Nargothrond: Tôremiel (OC), Finrod is starting all the fashion trends so Nargothrond is more modern than everywhere else -> art nouveau style and a lot of jewelry. With lace cause that's Tôremiel's craft
