Immortal cold [with WinterxGoddess]
The snow that was falling started to be strengthened. Started a little snowy tornado which enlarged itself almost as a black shadow.
When by this tornado lifted snowy icy body. It was a woman, with long snowy white hair and eyes like to bright stars. She looked at the tall man dressed in black, who was not a threat to her with his height. She very well knew what he was doing. Cold winds coming from her went to him.
The Nightmare King shuddered. He turned towards the woman.
Putting his arms akimbo, he looked at her and raised a hairless brow. "And a good night to you, too. Is this any way to greet someone?"
It wasn't necessarily an aggressive snarl, more of a sassy one. He wasn't exactly looking for trouble, after all. But he also wouldn't stand for what he perceived as rudeness.
{ ☆ Are you not afraid then that someday you would run out? }
Nightlight unfurled herself to float towards Pitch once more, her toes lightly trailing over the ground. Amazing, before she wouldn't be caught dead out of her armor, more so around this man. Yet, here she was wearing only a flimsy dress and making small talk. Coming to him of all people to teach her. She could have gone to the Sandman but she never got over that look he gave her, the sadness and pity behind the dreamweaver's gaze. And ever since he was destroyed by Pitch's arrow, the Sandman felt as if he understood what it was like to be trapped in darkness, understood her and what it is to be stained by it, changed.
It was unfair to Pitch but at the moment it didn't matter. Nightlight needed this. She reached out to tug on the hem of his robe and looked up at Pitch with determination. Nightlight will learn. She was sure of it.
{ ☆ Teach me. What do I have to do? Tell me. }
"They always come back to me", he explained.
When Nightlight approached him, the spirit suspiciously raised a brow. When she tugged his robe like a child, or perhaps a smaller sister, asking for sweets, or perhaps to stay awake just a little longer, he almost felt like she was family. And then she spoke with such determination and intent - he felt pride. An odd sensation, considering everything.
"It's hard to explain. I don't even know if it's possible for you, since I am not exactly one entity, but many. In a way. But what I do is", he began, carrying his mind back to the night he first did it, slowly performing exactly what he was explaining; "touch the sand. Focus on the connection between yourself and the sand. Command a small part of your very essence to go into the sand - to take over the sand - to become one with the sand." A dark shadow began spreading from his hands onto the sand, turning it into a nightmare shortly after touching it. Soon the former dreamsand was a big ball of black, oily looking grains, orbiting itself loosely, swirling counter-clockwise in a soft, but at the same time determined manner.
Soon, however, the ball changed its shape and a hideous creature took its place, eight eyes like a spider, but a body like some sort of crocodile, with long, spindly arms and legs and bat-like wings, and it growled and stared at Nightlight.
"Ooh, this one is one of the more interesting ones."

"No, it isn’t." She replied, holding back a laugh. "The stream of time wears away everything." Se knew that as well as anyone else. "Thankfully, some of us are not slaves to its everlasting flow."
It was Pitch now who was holding back a laugh. "Of course you would see it that way. Frail human minds."
A breath of wind and the shadowy figure was gone, only to immediately reappear behind the maid.
"But perhaps it's time to consider the possibility that not everything in this universe is the way humans perceive it."
Immortal cold [with WinterxGoddess]
It was a dark night, and, much to Pitch's dismay, a cold one.
He didn't so much mind the cold itself, but he always connected it to that annoying brat Jack Frost. But he wasn't here now, which was good. And so, Pitch floated above the streets, corrupting dreams and turning them into nightmares.
Then, suddenly, he sensed another powerful entity around. Wary, he looked around to see whether he could see someone.
{ ☆ Then what would you call it? To put a piece of yourself into another like this, would it not be referred to as a soul? } She tilted her head curiously and blinked wide blue eyes. After a moment of watching Pitch she turned her attention back on the Nightmare. Her toes floated off the ground and she couldn't help but to hug her knees to her chest as she looked over the creature intently. Is it bad for her to be so enamoured with something others would call bad? Is it not a creature just like any other? She peeks up at Pitch once more. Was he not just like everyone else? Just with a need and goals that differ from her Tsar?
{ ☆ I would like to try and create something like this. Will you teach me? I wish to learn to glean something from the sand other than memories and dreams. }
"I am made up myself of more than one piece, more than one 'soul', as you call it."
He observed the other's movements, trying to figure out what she was thinking. Judging from her pose, she felt perhaps insecure. Understandable. A lot of people felt insecure around Pitch, for obvious reasons. It wasn't the best existence he could imagine, but alas, he didn't have much of a choice.
Then she spoke, and Pitch's hairless brows rose with surprise.
"I don't know if I can teach you. But I can do my best."

"The definition of a youkai is, for the most part, a supernatural being." She explained. "I find it hard to believe that you are not a youkai of some sort, whether you know it or not."
"A hunter…?" She chuckled. "I suppose you are better at reading my past than you are at reading my present. Or maybe it was just a lucky guess."
"I suppose you could see me as that", he mused, pondering it or a moment; "though I am much more than just supernatural."
"Past and present - and future, too - all melt down to one continuous stream, don't they? Being a hunter... It's not something you leave behind, is it."

Great. Just great. Thanks a lot, Frost.
The Nightmare King glared at the Wisp.
"Well, I hope you’re happy now. You just had to go and lead me into this stupid hut, didn’t you. I don’t even know why I followed you! I thought you’d show me something fun."
"This is lame."
'…I think you broke him.'
'Mmmmmaybe.'
'ALL HAIL THE GOBBLE KING.'
The little beings giggled hysterically at the mess they made.
"Oh! G-gobble! How rich", the spirit gasped in between bursts of laughter.
He was doubled over, holding his stomach. He had not had this much fun in a long time, so much so that he ignored the fact that this must have been all the snow around them and just went with it.
"You guys are pretty funny", he finally stated, once he had regained his posture.

The woman shook her head as well.
She tried to get a good look at him, to deduce what he could be if he wasn’t a youkai of the dark. “You are very perceptive- more perceptive than you look. A dream youkai, perhaps?”
"No. Let me give you a hint, I'm not any youkai."
"If you're not a warrior, you must be a hunter. You do, however, follow orders. Perhaps that is where the maid part comes in."
He stopped in front of her and looked her up and down.
"Or perhaps you are a warrior, but you do not realise it yourself."
{ ☆ Create life, giving life, it is all the same. In the end, something wonderful comes from you and you are able to make a living being. It is a gift and one I cannot help but envy. }
Nightlight giggled and wrapped her arms around the large Nightmare’s neck. Her head popped out from behind the bulk of its body as she peeked over at Pitch, leaning up from her tippy toes.
{ ☆ Are they always so large? Do you think I can create something as exquisite as this majestic creature from the Sandman’s dream sand? Does it hurt? You make it sound like putting a part of your soul into it. }
"Something wonderful?"
"Not many would call them that."
He observed Nightlight intently, like a father watching his child play with another. Hard to believe they fought a fierce battle once. How times changed.
"I'm sure if you tried and practiced you would be able to. But then, I am not omniscient. It doesn't hurt me, but then again..."
The Nightmare King paused.
"I don't know if 'soul' is the right word."

Sakuya looked over the creature, trying to gather information on him just by sight. Well, her first guess would have to be the obvious one.
"A darkness youkai." She stated, trying to find anything about him, to unravel the enigma he wove in front of her by sight. If he was like Rumia, then that would be a good enough place to start.
He shook his head, smirking.
Then he focused on her.
"Looking at you, though, I can tell you're not the maid you appear to be. The way you hold your knife? You are clearly well-versed in battling."
"Perhaps you're a warrior?"

the wisps looked him over before snickering in what qould pass as ‘hands’. Forgive their antics, Pitch, they were rather young Wisps. Rather j than heeding his words, the blue beings flew about his head, ‘Gobble gobble! Don’t gobble to me like this! Gobbleity gobble gobble! I am the Gobble King!’
"Stop that!"
The Gobble Nightmare King considered the situation for a moment. It was kind of humorous. No, no. What?! Preposterous to think that!
A chuckle escaped his lips. What on earth? Pitch didn't know what was happening to him, but before he knew it, he burst out laughing.
"Gobble... The Gobble King, hahaha!"

{ ☆ Really? Wow! I wanna a bunny! Then I can sic it on Aster. }
She giggled as her light brightened in her enthusiasm. Nightlight quickly dimmed with a glance towards Pitch as she felt a bit self-conscious. She knew her light could hurt him but she was a being of light and it came naturally. Instead, she focused back on the Nightmare with a small smile as she stroked its mane reverently satisfied that she wasn’t hurting it.
{ ☆ I suppose I am a tad jealous. You can create life. I cannot. Is it a strange thought for you? To know that these Nightmares are basically your children? You sure do get around, Nightmare King. }
Nightlight gave a mischievous smile at her jesting, a slight narrowing of her eyes.
Pitch chuckled. Sic a bunny on Aster. A good idea.
He narrowed his eyes as the other began to glow, turning his head away. Once the light had faded, he turned back with a small "thank you."
"I don't know if I create life per se. I imbue the sand with a part of me, so I guess it's more like giving life. Of course, the nightmares are still my children."
"Suppose I do get around, haha."

” Wot wot? Gobble gobble gobble gobble, are you a turky or a chicken? ”
"I am the Nightmare King! I will not have you speak to me like this, you... You... Severe case of blue balls!"
He smirked boastfully. He was quite proud of using what he thought to be modern - and witty - language.
