The Teen Titans were ambushed and in the chaos a number of them got injured. Those who could still fight, fought twice as hard to make up for the fact that some of their members couldnāt. Others who could, pulled the injured to safety.Ā
It wasnāt looking like they would win, but for some odd reason, their foe retreated. Perhaps because even they were taking a massive blow on their numbers.Ā
Robin was among the injured. And rather critically.
Thanks to their enemies retreating, the members who were near were able to run to his side.
He was bleeding badly.Ā
His team members were frantic as they tried to stop the bleeding on his torso. They were yelling and screaming.
Robin was just getting his team to actually respect him as their leader. And this happened. He couldnāt help but chuckle and with it brought blood spewing out of his pale lips. He was choking on his own blood.
Fuck.
He tried not to, but his eyes closed. And someone shook him awake.Ā
āStay with us man!ā The man whose skin was green yelled. And shook his team member again.
The bleeding Robin couldnāt help it when his eyes closed a second time as his body went limp.
āDamian!ā
Guess this is the end of Damian Wayne as Robin.
How short lived.
He couldn't help but chastise himself.
When Robin opened his eyes, he was standing in a dirt path. He looked down and his injuries were gone and so were his team members. He touched his face and found that his mask was off too but he was still in his uniform.Ā
āWhere am I?ā He mumbled.Ā
He looked up and it appeared like the sun was setting. There were no trees and it seemed like the dirt path was in between a gorge that was taller than him by a meter or so. He has no interest to scale it. Instead, he looked ahead and back, both directions were oddly similar and seemingly endless.
āI guess I will move ahead.ā He mumbled. He took a step forward and his face twisted. Another step and he groaned.Ā
He clutched his chest but pushed forward. Tears welled in his eyes on the next step. And on the one after that, sweat formed on his forehead. But he moved on. Eventually, the pain and weight felt like nothing.
He knew he had to move despite everything.
He did not understand why he was in pain.
Damian was perplexed, it didnāt seem like he was moving at all. The exit he was aiming for seemed to move with him. Further and further away.
Then in the horizon he saw a small dot and as he walked ahead it grew bigger until it took a humanly form. He dashed toward it.
Finally, in front of him was a woman who was pulling at some flower on the gorge.Ā
He stopped panting before her and her head flicked toward him with furrowed brows, appearing to be in high alert.
āYou⦠you donāt belong here.ā She suddenly said, studying his appearance.
āMy name is Damian, who are you?ā He immediately asked, her words likely not processing in his mind.
āRaven.ā
Damian stared at the first person he had met in this bizarre place.
āIt is rather impossible to leave hereā¦ā Ravenās violet eyes studied the man before her, āIs it not hot?ā She raised a brow as she scrutinized his choice of wardrobe.Ā
āI didnāt come here with anything else.ā He shrugged.
āHmmā¦well, my cabin has some clothes. I donāt know if it will fit you.ā She offered.
He nodded, āTell me,ā He looked around. āAbout this place.ā
āYou are in Hell.ā She answered flatly, his only reaction was the fluttering of his eyelids.
āWhat were you doing?ā He asked after the silence.
āI was gathering herbsā¦ā She mumbled, unsure how to take hisā lack of a response to such a revelation.
āWell, since I am where, why donāt I keep you company?ā He smiled sheepishly as he shrugged.Ā
It was clear that she was confused with his offer.
āWell, Iām already here.ā He shrugged again, āBesides you're the first personā if you areā that Iāve seen here.ā
There was silence again and she eventually nodded, āWell, I am half human and half demon, if you must know.ā She carefully watched his reactionā well again, lack thereof.
āWell, my grandfather was known as the Demonās Head, so I suppose we go hand in hand.ā Another shrug and Raven couldnāt help it when her eyes welled with tears.
She laughed, āThat is oddly comforting.ā She rubbed eyes.
āLetās get along then.ā He put his hand out for her and she reached out for it.
āYou're not scared?ā She mumbled.Ā
āIām already here, I probably deserved it.ā He simply smiled at her.
āWell, since you insist on keeping me company.ā She tugged at him toward the direction he was already walking to. āI need to gather herbs and mushrooms. You donāt feel it now, but you will still feel hunger here.āĀ
āOne.ā
The two had gotten along quite well. And they didnāt even notice the flow of time because of it.
āDamian!ā Raven laughed, "How is it that you are faster than me?āĀ
Damian turned around looking at his companion, his hand extended toward her, āI think you just like me taking the lead.āĀ
She laughed louder but accepted his hand. āSo, tell me more about this team of yours?āĀ
Her hand in his as they continued to walk, āWell, where did I end?ā He glanced at her.
He told her stories of his life and her eyes seemed to sparkle at the tales he spun for her.Ā
āI really donāt think you belong here.ā She said, stopping in her tracks as she gave him a perplexed glance.
He in turn studied her, āI thinkā¦ā He looked down at their hands. āI am right where I am supposed to be.ā He watched as her pale face turned red.
They have been together for quite some time now and they got to learn more about each other as they accompanied one another. They got along quite well.
The time here was odd. Damian quickly understood that. And hearing Raven explain this space, confirmed his assumptions.
But there was one thing they knew for certain. They were both certain that they adored one another. They hadn't said it out loud. But it screamed in every interaction, even in what seemed like the most insignificant.
āMay I kiss you?ā He finally asked.
And she nodded shyly at first then faster. Then, attempted to pull her hand away from his, but instead he stepped closer toward her. His hand firmly held hers and with his free hand he cupped her face and took a deep breath as he captured her lips.Ā
He took her breath away.
āTwo.ā
Damian and Raven were a perfect match. They found that each passing day in Hell was not a burden because they had each other.Ā
Each second blurred into the next minute as they bask at each otherās light. Each passing hour merged into the next day so seamlessly that when the next day comes all they know is that they carry each otherās love deeply within themselves.Ā
The two had gone to pick some forgeables in the woods. The couple took a break and decided to sit on a boulder. Only to find that their break was for their lips to feed on the other.Ā
Raven panted when Damian finally let go of her lips.Ā
āHave I ever told you that you look like an angel?ā He leaned his forehead against hers and she laughed.
āAlways. And I tell you that is impossible.āĀ
This time he laughed, āAlways.āĀ
āWe should finish foraging, you still plan to make repairs and improvements to the cabin.ā She urged him with a little nudge on his linen shirt.Ā
He lifted her chin and kissed her, āIn a moment.ā
Damian worked on Ravenās cottage and repaired it, improved it and expanded it. Eventually, her small cottage became their cabin.Ā
Their home in Hell.
It was late at night and Damian decided to go hunting. Raven had taught him how to do it in Hell and he was a very quick study. She was cleaning the dishes when he arrived.
She glanced up with a smile, āWelcome home, beloved.āĀ
He looked up and he smiled at her, āIām glad to be back.ā He walked to her carefully, a dead animal slung over his shoulder. āDo I get a kiss?ā
She shook her head with a small smile on her lips but still leaned forward and gave him a peck on the lips. She bit her lower lip, āYou should bathe.ā
Damian threw his head back chuckling, āWill you join me?ā he tugged at her hand.
āHmmā¦Iāll think about it.ā She answered as she was pulled along with him. āWe probably shouldnāt bring your catch with us.ā
Damian laughed again, āWell, of course.ā He placed the rabbit down on the table. āDonāt worry I will clean that up later.ā He winked at her and tugged at her arm again.
Ravenās laughter followed them as Damian pulled her away.Ā
āThree.ā
Damian and Raven were in love. Somehow in this hellish place the two found love and formed something they didnāt think they would.
A new life.
Raven had a hand on her lower abdomen as she looked at her reflection in the mirror.Ā
A child. With him. In Hell.Ā
Her eyes welled up with tears and she couldnāt help but cry.Ā
āBeloved? Whatās wrong?ā Her beloved entered through their cabin door. He was now sporting a stubble and his eyes showed that he had become wiser.Ā
Well, they both had aged significantly since their first meeting.
āA baby, here? In hell?ā She sniffled.Ā
He smiled as he enclosed the space between them and he gathered her in his arms with one big hug.
āWe found happiness here. We will surely raise our child with love despite the environment.ā He coaxed her and she nodded. āItās not that bad here.ā
Raven chuckled, āBecause we have each other.ā He always told her that.Ā
He pulled away a little, smiling and kissed her forehead, āExactly.ā He caressed her hand that was on her belly with his fingers.Ā
With Ravenās free hand she caressed his stubbled jaw, āYou are starting to look like a father.ā She teased and he laughed and lifted her up and spun them around.
āI would hope so!ā He grunted as Raven squealed.Ā
And as Ravenās pregnancy progressed the fear and worry about bringing a new life in hell evolved into fear and worry of becoming first time parents.
Damian was frantic and it made Raven laugh at how adorable he was. She would reassure him that he would be such a wonderful father. And when she was frantic he would be there wrapping her in his arms whispering sweet nothings into her ears.Ā
Later that day, Raven turned to look at Damian, her hands glowing a faint purple hue.
āDo you think this will keep our child entertained?ā She asked as the shadow creatures of birds surrounded them which all had a faint glow to them. A glow that was the color of her eyes.
He smiled adoringly at her, āYes.āĀ
A small shadow that Damian thought had to be a robin flew toward him and stopped in front of his face.Ā
He chuckled, āA robin?āĀ
She smiled and nodded.Ā
Damianās beloved was a powerful being and he knew sheād become even stronger as the years progressed. It was him who was insignificant compared to her greatness. And yet, she loved him wholeheartedly. That was all he really needed.Ā
āFour.ā
Raven was in bed playing with their three month old baby.
āA boyā¦ā She whispered, brushing her sonās jet black hair. His blue eyes stared at his mother. She smiled at him. āYour father says you have your grandfatherās eyes.āĀ
āGoo.āĀ
Raven giggled, but she could see it, the little flecks of violet in her sonās blue eyes.
āBeloved?ā Damian stirred in the bed and turned to find their son between them.
āSorry, I woke up and checked up on him and he was already awake. I thought we could chat while I try to put him back to sleep.ā She glanced at her husband.
He scooted over and gently poked their son's nose, āWhat were you two talking about then?āĀ
Raven giggled as she watched them poke one another.
Eventually, their son fell back asleep.
āLet me bring him to his cot.ā Damian said as he slowly gathered their small bundle of joy in his arms.Ā
Raven watched Damian put their babe in the cot with the greatest care. She knew he was trying his best to be the best father as it was one of his insecurities that he had confided in her. Once he was done, he tip-toed back into the bed, arms wide and she rolled her eyes at him playfully.
Raven obediently wrapped her arms around his waist. āYou are doing a great job as a father, beloved.āĀ
He squeezed her, āI hope so.ā He settled their bodies on their bed. āHow about as a husband?ā
Raven found herself pinned down by her husband and she giggled. She reached out to cup his face, the stubble he had months ago was now a well kept short beard.Ā
āWell, Iāve only had one husband, should I try and get another one to compare?ā She teased and the next moment her jaw and neck was being attacked by his beard. She covered her mouth to try and muffle her laughter so as to not wake their sleeping son.Ā
āI am not willing to share, you know that.ā He finally pulled away as he looked down at her intently with his beautiful green eyes.Ā
Raven smiled, āI wouldnāt have it any other way, my beloved husband.ā She pulled him closer and kissed him. āYou have been a most wonderful husband, Damian.ā She said each word between wet kisses. She could feel his smile widen with each word she said.Ā
āFive.ā
āDaā¦daā Their son looked up at Damian and Raven squealed again, making Damian chuckle. She has been so excited since their son has started talking and she was still in that high.Ā
āYes. That is right.ā Damian smiled at their son as he squatted on the floor then pointed at Raven. āAnd that is Ma-ma.āĀ
Their son nodded as he stared at Raven. His parents laughed.
āMama.ā Damian repeated.
āHm.ā The son nodded again.
āNo, you should call for mama.ā He coaxed him.
āHm.ā The son replied.
Raven laughed, āStop it,ā She told Damian then turned to her son āOur son clearly loves Dada more, right?āĀ
āMama.ā The son replied, which made Raven gasp.
She looked at her husband, āDid you hear that!ā She squealed.
āYep.ā Damian whistled. āOur son loves Mama more.ā He pouted and Raven playfully smacked him.
āThat was not the point!ā She glared and only got laughter from her beloved.Ā
She shook her head then turned to look at their son.Ā
āBut it is true right?ā Damian cooed at their son.Ā
āMama!ā Their son raised his arms up. And when Raven was going to go closer to him, their son decided to crawl to Raven and the couple watched their son crawl his way to her.
He sat up arms wide and, āBaa!ā Hugged Ravenās stomach as she was kneeling to the floor.Ā
Raven looked up at Damian who also looked mildly pleased and confused.Ā
āBaa. Baa.ā Their son rubbed his head gently on Ravenās abdomen then with his small hand rubbed her lower belly.
Then groped her breast which made Raven laugh, āHungry are we?ā
Damian chuckled too as their son cooed.Ā
Time felt way too fast during the recent years. Their son was five now and was a rather smart little boy.
āMama!ā He ran to her after hugging his father.
Raven smiled as she extended her hands down, ready to receive his hug.
As the boy wrapped his arms around Ravenās hips and rubbed his face on her lower abdomen. He paused then looked up.
āBrother?ā His blue eyes peered at her with curiosity, the violet flecks in his eyes seemed to dance.
Raven was confused and glanced at Damian.
āSister?ā The boy corrected himself with a small tilt of his head.
Raven brought her gaze back to her son who then placed his small hands on her abdomen.Ā
āBaby!ā He smiled.
The way Raven inhaled as she looked back at Damian who also stared at her in the same way.
It did not take that long for the couple to find out that they were indeed expecting a second child.
āSix.ā
Time flowed differently in hell. It seemed oddly slow recently. Or maybe because Raven was a few months shy of giving birth to their second child that time felt rather slow.
Raven was outside rubbing her belly as she watched her husband cut some wood and their son was tilling a plant in their small garden.
āLook at our son, being helpful like his father.ā Damian smiled at their small boy praising him to his own wife.
Raven smiled, āYou're becoming such a good little helper, my love.ā She approached him and rubbed his head.
The boy smiled and looked up at his mother, āLike father!ā
Her smile widened, āExactly.ā She rubbed her belly for a second attempting to kneel down but found her belly was too big for that.
Damian groaned, catching both mother and childās attention.
āFather?ā Wide blue eyes filled with concern peered at his father.
The older man seemed to tilt a little.
āDamian!ā Raven rushed to him but he put his hand out. He was mid-swing and the axe stayed wedged onto the log.
āIām fine, just a headache.ā He mumbled.
āDamian!ā
The man looked around, he swore he had heard the voices of his teammates. Voices he hadnāt heard in years. But he must be hearing things.
āAre you okay?ā The voice of his wife brought him back to the present. He turned his head and saw that she was standing close to him with such a worried expression, which made his heart clench.
āOh, beloved. Iām fine.ā He placed his hands on her belly, āYou cannot be stressed.āĀ
They heard their son's footsteps come close to them and they both looked down.
āFather, donāt belong.ā He mumbled eyes welled with water as he gripped his fatherās pants.Ā
Raven couldnāt help but gasp as her eyes flickered at Damian.Ā
He lifted his son. āI am right where I should be.ā He kissed his sonās cheek and pulled his wife closer to him, placing a kiss on her temple.
āDo you want a brother or sister?ā He asked his son and Raven chuckled.
āHmmmā¦ā Their son seemed to think about the question.
A few weeks passed and Damian seemed to be having headaches more frequently and it got Raven very worried.
āBeloved. I am fine.ā Damian coaxed her for the nth time as he massaged her shoulders.
There was a frown on her lips, āI should be massaging youā¦ā She sounded guilty.
āBut this is all I can offer you on your pregnancy.ā He kissed her temple.
āAll you can offer?ā She shook her head. āYou are doing everything for us.ā She rubbed her belly as her eyes looked at her son drawing on a piece of paper on the floor of their living room.
āThatāā Damian groaned again, making his wife stand up and look at him with eyes filled with water in worry.
āBelovedā¦ā She whispered and he shook his head.Ā
āI am fine.ā He whispered back. āWe will be expecting the newest addition to our family soon. There is still so much to do and prepare.ā
Raven nodded cautiously, āYeahā¦ā She had to agree, it was clear that he didnāt want her to be worried.
It was night and their son had demanded they do a bonfire.Ā
Damian wanting to be the best dad conceded easily. But they were running out of wood to feed the flames so he had to start chopping again.
The fire casted an orange hue on everyone.Ā
Damian chopped wood and glanced at his son hugging his wife as the two watched him do his work. He waved at them with a smile and they waved back. He studied his wifeās gentle smile and he saw how his son buried his face at the side of his motherās protruding belly. The house he had fixed and upgraded glowed orange behind his family.
Then he suddenly gasped, clenching his chest. The throbbing in his head was in sync with the rapid beating of his heart. He glanced up to look at his family.Ā
Raven was clearly yelling at him, his sonās hand pressed against hers as she moved forward along with their son.
But they moved at an awfully slow pace. A painful slo-mo no one asked for.
And when he blinked it seemed that their figures seemed to flicker and overlap with a different image.Ā
An image he hadnāt seen in years.Ā
The ruins he barely recalled that surrounded him before he arrived here.
When he blinked his eyes again. His family was gone.
āSeven.ā
Damian was back in that mission years ago before be metā
The pain in his abdomen stung so badly, a pain he did not recall until now. And then in an instant it was gone. He rolled and got on his knees as he coughed up blood. His mind no longer registered the physical pain because he was more focused on something else.
āDamian! What are you doing!ā Someone yelled as they tried to turn him on his back.
Damian grabbed the man by his collar, āWhat did you do!ā He yelled with such hostility that everyone around him was more than startled.
The man was still bleeding out and he didnāt seem to care, āBring me back!ā He yelled and screamed. āJust kill me now!ā
The air shifted as silence fell among themselves. It seemed that Damian was hysterical.Ā
āHold him down.ā Came a firm and calm command. Damianās team members parted to let Nightwing pass. āSedate him.ā
Damianās eyes widened and before he could struggle, he felt the needle pierce him. His eyes go unfocused but still manage to say, āJust kill meā¦ā A tear slipped down his eye.
He watched, Nightwing, his brother approach him and for a moment as his brother knelt before him, he saw herā
āHe is saying nonsense from the loss of blood.ā Nightwing tried to reason.
If Damian was not sedated he would tell everyone that his brother was wrong.
āWe canāt let him continue to move around. He will lose all his blood.ā Nightwing turned, āWho is confident in their healing?ā He looked around among the team members.
āMe.ā Someone stepped up.
Damian was losing what little awareness he had left, maybe it was the sedatives or the lack of bloodā both. But his eyes closed and he hoped with all his being that maybe perhaps this meant he could see her again.Ā
His family.Ā
Itās been two weeks. Damian was convinced that he only had hallucinationsā well in the very least he convinced them that he was convinced. He knew in his heart and soul that she was real and the life he led with her was real.Ā
His heart broke every second knowing this truth. His wife and his kids. His unborn child.Ā
But the world was in danger and all hands were on deck. That was the only reason why he was back on the field. In the chaos that promised his return to his family if something unfortunate were to happen to him.
That was probably why he just stood there as he saw a crystal like spear projectile aimed directly at him.
This would be deadly.
Death was what he wanted.
Some team members noticed his precarious position and were yelling his name. Robin merely closed his eyes and inhaled deeply. He canāt escape it, not that he wanted to.Ā
He chose not to avoid it.
He was confused when he didnāt feel the pain of the impact. He opened his eyes to find the projectile frozen mid air. The chaos in the comms and around got louder, a portal had opened mid air too, the moment he opened his eyes. And he could clearly see the protal from where he stood.Ā
Him the spear and then the portal.Ā
The members who saw the portal were swearing, thinking their enemy just got reinforcement.Ā
Time seemed to freeze as everyone anticipated the new threat.Ā
A figure floated out and Damianās eyes softened at the figure. His frozen muscles became mobile.
Raven looked exactly how he left her. Her eyes instantly turned to look at him. The confusion on her face was evident as she studied him.
She gave a small smile as she floated toward him in a descent. āWhy did you not evade it?ā
He remained silent as he watched her land beside the projectile and brushed it with her fingers. And it shattered into dust.
Raven lifted a foot to move forward.Ā
Damian could hear his team mates yelling and some trying to run to them, but with one glance from Raven they suddenly found they could not move. Everyone couldnāt move. Even their enemies.
Who was this woman?
She finally took a step forward, eyes on him and her appearance flickered. She took another step and it was clear her appearance was reversing. When she finally stood before Damian, she looked exactly how she did when they first met.Ā
With a shaky breath, āItās really you.ā He whispered, his voice cracking.Ā
She smiled at him, her hand raised up as she brushed the outline of his jaw with her fingertips.Ā
She had looked nonchalant at first but now she mirrored his disbelief.Ā
He was real.
He leaned down, his forehead against hers. This time he brought his shaky hands to her jaw, thumbs caressing her cheek.
āHow long has it been?ā His voice was trembling.Ā
Raven inhaled, her hands mirroring his, āItāsā¦been centuriesā¦ā
Damian gasped as he took a step back as if he was shot. āNo. No. Noā¦ā He shook his head repeatedly.
Raven closed the space between them and he tried to avoid it, she could feel his guilt and grief.Ā
āBeloved, itās okay.ā She calmed him as she placed her hand on his cheek again. Fingers glowing a faint hue of violet.
āNo,ā His voice didnāt sound like him. āIt is not.ā He wanted to scream.
But he didnāt. Couldnāt. His mind calmed down. āThe kidsā ourā our unborn child.ā His body was shaking now at the further realization of what centuries would be like for his family.
His beloved wife could not hide the sadness, āAll grown.ā
āI missed everything. I wasnāt there for you. For our kids.ā Damianās pain could be heard in his words.Ā
āIt isnāt your fault.ā She calmly replied.
āI should haveāā
Raven cut him off by kissing him. He melted into her. She pulled away, āDonāt say it.ā
He pressed his lips to keep his thoughts to himself and ultimately nodded.
āIām sorry it took me so long to get to you.ā She barely said and he placed his shaking hands on her elbows.Ā
Damian sniffled, āWhat matters is we are reunited.ā He embraced her burying his face onto her hair, āI knew you werenāt a hallucination. I knew you were real.ā He squeezed her.
He will try and focus on the fact that she was real and what he experienced with her was real. Not what he had lost. He will focus on what was gained.Ā
Returned.
āHow are our children?ā He asked.
Raven pulled her head away and looked up at him with a smile, āOur son is there looking after our youngest while I stay here with you.āĀ
Damian inhaled deeply, āIsā¦is our youngest a boy or girl?ā He carefully asked and she smiled at him.
āI will tell you all about anything you want to know.ā She caressed his cheek with her thumb, āBut in moderation. I do not want to overwhelm you.ā She then glanced around them, the frozen chaos. āAnd more importantly, do you want my help, beloved?ā
The corner of his lips tugged into a smile and he nodded slowly.
Centuries. She must have gotten so much stronger.
Raven removed her hand from his face. Their eyes still locked at one another and she snapped her fingers.Ā
" Damian and Raven were a perfect match. They found that each passing day in Hell was not a burden because they had each other.Ā
Each second blurred into the next minute as they bask at each otherās light. Each passing hour merged into the next day so seamlessly that when the day comes all they know is that they carry each otherās love deeply within themselves. "
I can also see Damian look at him with a blank expression but his eyes appeared to hold back tears.
Damian: I've built an empire... But I only ever had her once. Only shared a kiss... Before everything was taken. Why can't I have her again and live a full life with her? Why can't I keep my turn for longer?
Who decided that all I could have was a short glimpse of what could have been?
Jason: And once wasn't enough? I had to watch her fall in love with many people who aren't me. I had to love her in silence in every life I had live. I had nothing to hold onto but my love for a woman who held my heart, a woman who was was never mine even from the start.
Why can you have one shared life and a glimpse, where as I can only have dreams of holding her in my arms?
This is just me writing Jason's anger issues and my non existent OTP. I will now write an angst born from this post.
Oh do write angst! Angst is my blood. Glad I somehow inspired you to cause misery! Mwahahaha š
Damn I do feel bad Jason.
But.
Damian (inhaled deeply): This isn't for us to decide. It's hers. Whatever she wants. I will stay by her decision. Even if it's only because I got to share one life with her and had a glimpse of what could be. I will always stand by her and her choices.
I too want to make an angsty little fic (deep sigh)
I can also see Damian look at him with a blank expression but his eyes appeared to hold back tears.
Damian: I've built an empire... But I only ever had her once. Only shared a kiss... Before everything was taken. Why can't I have her again and live a full life with her? Why can't I keep my turn for longer?
Who decided that all I could have was a short glimpse of what could have been?
She was a kindred soul that came in the form of a Raven.
Quiet and somehow refined.
She rarely smiled or showed her emotions and it just made those rare times that she does even sweeter.Ā
How she doesnāt notice the small smile on her lips when their eyes meet.
Or how her eyes crinkled when sheād steal a glance at him.
But he noticed. He noticed everything about her.
How could he not?Ā
She made this heart he thought was long dead beat so fast.
For her. It beats for her and her alone.
She was the blood in his veins.
The reason his heart beats.
If she was gone sheād take his heart along with her.
Eyes that gazed at her like she was the only thing that he saw. The only thing that mattered.
And she knew for the longest time, that if he were to be gone, sheāll never recover.
How could she live a life where those green eyes no longer held her in such regard?
He had become the very air she breathed.
It was involuntary. It was natural.
His very being filled her lungs and rushed through her veins.
He was a part of her. As she was a part of him.Ā
Life became vibrant because they had each other.Ā
If that was taken, then youād make her blue.
Making her suffocate in such a delicate manner.

Here's a little something I did on Christmas Eve. I also wrote a Damian version (which will be posted another day). I should seriously do something better to pass my time during holidays.

hello! hope you are well and I hope November has been treating you nicely so far!
just wanted to say I absolutely LOVED the plot twist in your jealuc fic, "Wedding Rings." seriouslyy, it caught me off guard in the best way possible. at first, I thought the outsider POV was Donna ahahaha.
I also adore "Meet Me Halfway," I'm so excited to see the next chance jean and diluc interact again because it seems like they're feelings are really stirring up :) but I also love the way you wrote and built up the tension between themm.
take care!
Heeey!
November has just started but it seems like I will be facing challenges this month. But I hope I do well and excel!
Hope you're doing well, stranger!
That was the aim, to catch the readers off guard in the best kind of way. The Donna guess is quite common, it makes me want to write a POV which she actually is the narrator. Imagine the kind of mess I can make. Hahaha.
Well. What I have written for the next chapter is steamy and explicit š. Sadly it isn't finished. But the intensity š³š³
I really appreciate you stopping by and complimenting me.
I have noticed, for sure just a coincidence, but every time I feel so down I get a random anon here telling me they love my work.
I hope I can somehow deliver. Unfortunately, kind of busy recently.
For sure this year has been fruitful for me!
You take care and bless you! You have no idea how thankful I am for this. ā¤ļøā¤ļø
āHey.ā She replied back in a dreamy state. She extended her hand and brushed her fingertips against his jaw. He closed his eyes to relish on the gentle moment.Ā
āIf you continue doing that, it feels like you're just going to disappear from my sight.ā He whispered and his eyes opened to look at her. He searched for a sign in those violet orbs if she was just going to disappear from his life, but her eyes were steady and clear and her lips formed a mystifying smile that he connected to the joy of their first night together.
āWhy would I?ā She cupped his jaw, thinking that he had such a sharp jawline-- so unique. āI have everything I want here.ā She cuddled closer to him resting her forehead against his beating heart.
I really love your works and the drama you put in them so I've been thinking about this promt lately for Damirae.
I know it's sounds awkwardšš but how about Raven is having a miscarriage after trying many times having a baby.
And she's starting to make some stupid scenarios of Damien divorcing her for not being able to have a baby (overthinking)
First, thank you! I'm glad to hear you love my stuff. And thanks for talking with me. š„ŗ
To answer your questions.
I have thought about Raven having a miscarriage and it upset her so badly, but never got a proper plot other than that thought. So I never dove into it. I still might in the future.
Now. Right now, I do have a fic where she is overthinking and needs to provide a baby for Damian bc she thinks he might find someone else if she doesn't. Is that close enough to the 2nd part of the question?
(and yes it is WIP...currently...longer than anyone probably wants)
This is not canon to the previous chapter. Same world (I'm still working on) but this is a what if the canon timeline didn't happen.
The sneak peek I shared with
āIf anything happened to youā if you dieā I cannot continue living on.ā It was a statement. His eyes told her he knew this for a fact. As if he had already lived through it.
- Damian to Raven
DISCLAIMER:Ā DEATH, suicide

The Voices: 'What if : I'd Follow You'
Raven and Damian have been married for years now. And they were more than happy in each other's arms. Granted, even they have their fair share of difficulties in their relationship.
Damian was happy to be in bed with his wife who laid on his shoulder with her fingers brushing above his beating heart.
Her condition wasn't ideal, but he loved her so dearly.
She glanced up to look at him and feeling her shift against his body he immediately looked down curiously.
He smiled when their eyes met.
"Dami, do you ever think of death?" She asked suddenly and he was taken aback.
His hand that was stroking her elbow stopped as he frowned, "Why are you asking this question?"
She brought her gaze back down, to look at her fingers brushing his sternum, "Just a thought that came to me today."
"Of course I do, it happens." He finally answered her.
"Would you remarry if I die?" She asked back as if asking about his day or the weather.
The question made him hold his breath, if anything, it would have stopped his heart too.
"Why are you saying that?" He asked back, the edge on his voice was undeniable.
Raven had stopped playing with his chest. She did not look up at him. She sighed then repeated her question.
"Would you remarry if I die?"
Her husband held her hand that was already on his chest. He laid her hand flat against his beating heart.
"My heart will stop beating if you die." The answer to the question she seemed to want to know was finally said aloud, in a room that was rather chilly despite being in each other's warm embrace. Despite being fully clothed, under warm thick sheets.
She looked up with a troubled expression, she shook her head. Before she could rebuke verbally, her husband spoke.
"If anything happened to youā if you dieā I cannot continue living on." It was a statement. His eyes told her he knew this for a fact. As if he had already lived through it.
She inhaled deeply, "No. I don't want that." She propped her head up a bit with her free hand supporting her weight. As the hand he was already holding shifted in his hold and she squeezed him.
"I want you to remarry." Raven added quietly, even when there were tears in her eyes.
This time it was his turn to lift himself up from the bed. His eyes searching hers. "I will not remarry. I would rather die with you."
He watched his wife's lips quiver at his response and he cupped her face, hoping to calm her. "I can't live without you. I can't continue on. It wouldn't be living, beloved."
"Please, don't say that." Her voice cracked, her tears still gathering in her eyes. "I don't like the thought of you dying."
"I don't like the thought of you dying." He repeated and she pressed her lips.
"But I am not well. It's more likely that Iā"
Damian cut her off by pulling her closer to him. "And I can't love anyone else. I can't imagine another woman in my life that isn't you. I love you."
She could see the conversation was upsetting him. She cupped his face with one hand and brushed the corner of his eye.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to upset you." She said, crawling into his lap and hugging him tight.
He hugged her back and buried his face on her shoulder. They stayed like that for a few minutes. Their beating hearts drumming at the same pace, completely in sync.
She pulled away from his embrace, "I want to live a long life with you." She smiled at him. Then leaned her forehead against his, their noses touching.
The couple settled into their bed after their talk and he held her tighter than normal. The talk likely left an impression on him. But knowing she was in his arms calmed him.
As they waited for sleep to take them, they talked about their future together instead of one without the other.
Damian woke up in the middle of the night, not sure when he had fallen asleep amid their conversation. But he could still feel his wife's body pressing against his and it brought a smile on his face.
He wanted to bring her even closer to his face, but when he touched her arm. He felt the chill.
He was instantly awoken from the confusion of just waking up.
It was like there was an alarm in his brain blaring at him.
He sat up bringing her along with him as he glanced down only to see herā his beloved wifeā
"No." A shaky breath followed. "No." He brushed her face.
Her blue face. She looked peaceful.
But his heart felt like it was ripped from his chest.
He cradled her. And wept. Muttering for her to wake. Telling her he loves her. Asking her not to leave him.
Damian was a smart man. Smarter than any average man. And he knew, with how cold her body was, that she'd been like that for a while now. He knew that even if he called 911 nothing could be done.
Therefore with what little sense he had, he used the time to talk to her. Ask her. Tell her. Beg her.
He stayed like that, hunched over her body for longer than he'd like to admit. Then something just clicked in his brain.
He lifted his head up and caressed her face. He kissed her cold lips and laid her gently on the bed.
He got up, went to their bathroom and took bottles of medication. Medication that had his wife's name on them.
Damian walked quietly to his bedside table. Placed the medications on top while he opened the drawer, taking out a piece of paper and pen and wrote something down carefully. Once he was done he glanced at his wife.
She looked so peaceful.
He smiled at her.
He placed the pen down, sighed and got his phone out. He typed something and was busy with his phone for a bit. Then placed it on mute. He placed his phone on the table and grabbed the pill bottles.
He looked at his wife again. Then studied the label on her medication.
Maybe it was an allergic reaction to the medication.
He wondered if she knew that she was going to die that evening. Was that why she was asking those questions?
Those painful questions?
But how could she know?
Those things didn't matter. He already told her what he knew to be true.
"I will be with you, my beloved wife." He whispered, opening the bottles and downed every pill inside with no water.
He then settled in bed and brushed her face. He wanted to hold her and he thought about it for a while.
He knew he couldn't sleep if she wasn't in his arms.
With that thought, he carefully gathered her into his arms again. She was still flexible which made him relax as he settled onto the bed and closed his eyes. His thumb caressed her lower back as he always does when they go to sleep.
On the piece of paper he left behind he wrote:Ā Please bury me with her.
Damian's breathing started to shallow down.
He had also left timed text messages to his family.
The first one to call 911. Then the next messages were delayed by a few minutes.
He had one for his father telling him to continue the research under Raven's name and that whatever money he was entitled to would be used as funds for it. He thanked his father and apologized.
He sent one to his eldest brother, though he was an annoying brother, he told the man he'd appreciate it if he could oversee the projects he has, especially the research that was supposed to be for his wife.
He left messages for his other brothers too. Tim was specifically told about his will. The message for Jason seemed to be aimed to piss him off, but there was clear affection between the lines.
And he even sent one for Alfred, giving him a brief summary of what he told his family. He also thanked the older man and emphasized how grateful he was for welcoming his wife despite her condition.
Damian was content. He has made sure that everything was settled.
When the rigor mortis is completed in both their bodies, they would have long been discovered by his family. Raven would not be stuck in this position. Though he wouldn't mind if they were buried like this too.
Either way, knowing that her body would unlikely completely stiffen before they were discovered was what made him finally decide to hold her in his dying moment.
"Just a little bit moreā¦" He mumbled.
It was good they didn't have children. It made this choice easier.
When the text messages arrived to their respective recipients it was too late. People rushed to Damian's mansion, checked every room. Bruce and Dick had checked the bedroom andā
Damian laid there with a smile on his lips and his beloved in his arms. They both looked to be at peace.
