Twelve bottles of red wine for the unhelpful platonic soulmate it is, then.
Make it white and you’ve sold me.
I am incredibly jealous, actually. Usually I’d be right there with you, but this year I haven’t quite managed. And while we’re on the subject–in a totally subtle and in now way leading manner–what do you want for Christmas, my love?
As if it would be that easy.
Black Friday wasn’t a thing here, right?
No it isn’t. At least I don’t think it is? I mean, I participated in it last year when I went home, but this year I decided to do it all online.
I’ve finished my Christmas shopping. I can sense the jealousy pulsing through you.
I never thought it would be like this, Ellie, never in a million years–of course, I never thought I’d be more tired than I was in college, so I’m beginning to think the universe is making a game of proving me wrong. D’you know, Em’s been staring out the window at your house lately? I think she sees you and Bash moving around in the yard.
Either that or your daughter enjoys stalking me, Brigid. You should really lecture her about that.
I’ve just realized I’m coming up on my thirty-third birthday, and a few weeks before that I will officially have a one year old daughter. I think I’m a bit, er… fuckin’ whelmed.
It’s amazin’, Brigid. I’m so happy that you’re doin’ well.
Even if I knew your parents, I wouldn’t tell them.
You’re a good ‘un. I quite like you.
I’ve heard that’s an extremely sensitive area. Especially because the skin is so thin there, and it’s right on your skull.
Do y’promise not to tell my parents that I was super drunk when I got my friend to do it for me?
Yes, it’s new. Yes it hurt. But not as much as the one on my ribs.
The one behind my ear hurt quite a bit, actually. Perhaps I’m just terrible with pain.
evelyn-obrien:
“No, not me. I dare everyone to get drunk until they get their stomach pumped but it seems like nobody is ever up for a good time.”
“Well, for future reference I’m going to stay away from you at parties. Also -- have you ever gotten your stomach pumped? It’s a terrible experience. Plus, parents aren’t too keen on it happening either.”
evelyn-obrien:
“Maybe she was dared. By her mother nonetheless. The nuttiness of this town.”
“Is that what y’all do in this town? Dare children to hold people’s hands?”

musical-eoghan:
“Do what makes you happy, but I think you look quite lovely either way.” He shrugged his shoulders, a shy smile on his lips. “I’ve been meaning to talk to you. It appears the tree in my yard has gotten quite overgrown and into your yard. I was wondering if you’d help me with trimming the tree? I just need someone to hold the ladder so that I don’t fall off.”
“Oh hush Eoghan,” Eleanor blushed, brushing her wind blown bangs out of her eyes. “You need me to help you with DIY?” Eleanor laughed, “of course I’ll come and help you and hold the ladder. I mean, that’s about as helpful as I can be when it comes to anything in the yard if it’s not planting or mowing -- I try to stay away from things that go above my head.
liv-obriens:
“I’ve been really great actually. Getting a lot of work done around the bakery. Thinking about a small remodel in the kitchen area. Nothing new. And yes, you’re accent is ridiculous.”
“A small remodel would be good, yeah? I mean, you deserve it. You work so hard you deserve a nice new kitchen to work in. Also, I’m sorry for my accent. I can’t do anything about it. I wish I had a beautiful accent like yours but, hey, we get what we get and we don’t get upset.”
musical-eoghan:
“I think she must have been admiring you from afar. You are stunning and could be a queen.”
“Oh Eoghan, please. I look like garbage today. Plus, I left my makeup bag on a train to Cork so I have to go and replace that so it’s going to look like this for a few days,” Eleanor laughed. “But thank you, Eoghan.”
liv-obriens:
“I’m glad to know I’m such an inspiration.”
“The biggest. But besides that, how’ve you been? What’s the - oh god, I was going to say what’s the craic and even though I’ve lived here for nearly three years it still sounds stupid in my american accent.”
liv-obriens:
“Hopefully for the better?”
“Definitely, definitely for the best Olivia. I cannot believe I didn’t know this before. This is going to change my life in meetings with my publishers.”
