Wow, hello there... it’s been a LONG while

One eyebrow quirked up slightly; it might not have looked like it to an ordinary passerby, but this girl had piqued Hiro Teku’s interest. His powers practically ran on electricity – without a current running through the circuits, it was exponentially harder to locate them, and EMP pulses were useless if there was nothing to cancel out. He was out on patrol, so technically it would be acceptable to engage a criminal, with or without backup..
As she walked past, a silver-armored hand shot out to grab her wrist, and a confident half-smirk pulled at one corner of his mouth.
“Where’re y’going, partner? I thought we had a bad guy t’catch.”
She knew he couldn’t resist. This was utterly perfect. With his powers running off of electricity, they were the perfect team-- or she would hope so. “Excellent.” Lauren cracks her wrist for preparation, which made an unpleasant sound to the ears, “Let’s do this.”
Lauren’s eyes glowed a bright blue as she looked at his visor, then glanced at the alley. Walking ahead, and making sure no one was following them.
The girl stops when she’s sure no one could hear the information being spoken. “Anyway, Mr. Sparkles is trying to get his hands one of Mr. Krei’s prototypes. It’s like.. well... The best way I can describe it is it’s a sonic-consecutive earthquake-making machine. It may not sound so big and bad, but it’s still in the testing phase, which makes it even more dangerous. It can cause another earthquake much greater than the one back in 1906. It also will short-circuit everything in the city.. possibly go even farther.” She leans against the wall, crossing her arms, “No power equals no powers.” She holds her left arm up, rubbing her fingers together as they conducted sparks of electricity.

“Far too long since we’ve seen each other” hug
It’s been so long since she has seen anyone from the Multiverse. (and after 5 long months of fighting off threats in her homeworld) She has returned to her home away from home.
Walking along the streets of San Fransokyo, she comes across a familiar figure. Red hair. Familiar choice of clothing...
wait a minute--
“Riley!!” Lauren’s smiled from ear to ear. With a skip in her step, and the sound of her heeled boots clicking against the pavement, she runs towards her friend. Opening her arms out wide and hugs her tightly. “Riley, I’ve missed you so much!” She burrows her head on her shoulder, nails clutching onto the fabric of her friends sleeve. “It’s been far too long.” Too long since she’s seen a friendly face including in her homeworld.
It’s a little bit late, but better late than never, right? (Is “follow forever” still a valid term? I was too lazy to change the graphic to “bias list”. >.>)
I just can’t believe that’s it’s been over a year since I decided to make this blog on a whim and whipped up Riley as an OC without much thought, and that you guys are all here because of it. It truly blows my mind how close I’ve become with a few of you, and it’s all because I decided to flex my writing muscle by joining something I was partially wary and yet inexplicably drawn to. Now I couldn’t leave if I wanted to; it’s become a key part of me and my development as a writer.
There’s been a lot of ups and downs with this blog, for both me and Riley, and you guys have stuck around through it all, for which I am truly grateful. If y’all hadn’t given this blog a chance, I don’t think it’d still be around.
Now, without further ado, I want to tag and thank those who have put up with me and Riley for a long while/have been a key part in Riley’s character development/are just all around the best partners I could ask for.

Hiro couldn’t help but grin a little when Lauren called the guy out on his bluff. A few seconds later, she finally stepped into his field of vision. She started to negotiate a deal with the guys, which wasn’t really what Hiro wanted, but he was powerless to stop her.
“Double it, huh? You some kinda rich kid or somethin’, blondie?”
He hadn’t tried pushing back yet, but now he had no other choice—his lungs had started to burn. All he wanted now was for the pressure on his chest to give, just a little, so he could inhale again. Hiro’s hands rose to the forearm that was pinning him down, and he pushed as hard as he could, trying to suck in a breath while he could. Of course, fighting was a double-edged sword that came back to bite him; once the initial surprise had worn off, the man pressed even harder to quell the resistance.
“Cool it, kid. Let your girlfriend do the talking. You already had your chance.”
Hiro glanced at the taser in Lauren’s hand, and wished she’d just pull the trigger already. He could see why she might not—there were multiple guys in the group, and taking one out would likely cause retaliation from the others—but he was starting to get desperate.
“First of all, I’m a brunette, there’s a difference. And secondly, yes. Yes I am. I was raised in the manor born. I could buy you all the new and improved devices out there that you want, maybe even buy you all tickets to Hawaii if you behave.” She pulled out her wallet, never letting the taser fall as she pulled out a 100 dollar bill for all of them to see.
“So let go of my... boyfriend,”--like that’s not weird at all--”and we can negotiate, or you can let this brilliant, once-in-a-lifetime offer slip you right on by. Your choice.” She arched her brow, glancing at Hiro. She could see his desperation and it indeed pained her to see him this way, but it was either getting the both of them out of here alive or both being captured... or worse.
